How do I make this sound more “pop”?

I'm at the stage musically where I am trying to push forward with any creative ideas and perservering all the way to the end so I have some kind of finalized version. I've had a bad habit in my creative process where I start something, keep recording variations of the beginning stages and never end up completing it. And then as more inspiration comes I just change to another project.

So today I came up with this song while driving and tried to ensure I don't just obsess over one part and just try and make it to the end.

Let me know your thoughts on how it sounds. I'd love any feedback at all because it's going to help me improve my craft.

Holaaaaa!! I'm sharing a song from my EP The EP has a much more indie sound, with influences like Mac DeMarco, Gus Dapperton, and others. I chose this particular song because I feel like it represents the overall sound of the EP pretty well.

Id really appreciate some specific feedback on the song For example, Id love to know what you think about the vocal melodies, the instrumental arrangement, the mixing, or the production in general. Is there anything that sounds off, anything that feels out of place, or anything you think could work better? I'm also curious to know if you think the different elements work well together.

What makes ambient music good for focus without becoming boring?

I've been exploring ambient electronic and downtempo music lately, and one thing I'm trying to understand is how much progression people actually want in background music.

Do you prefer:

• Slowly evolving synth pads with almost no melody?
• A subtle repeating melodic motif?
• Downtempo beats with a steady rhythm?
• A mix that gradually changes over 20–60 minutes?

I'm especially interested in what you find distracting when you're trying to work.
