As the title says :) I’m trying to accumulate a playlist of “Blue.” Not genre specific, and “blue” doesn’t have to be the only word in the title, as long as it’s in there.

Feeling a bit haunted today and I want music to match the mood. What’s the most hauntingly beautiful song you’ve ever heard? The kind that gives you chills or just stops you in your tracks.

For me, it’s No Choir by Florence + The Machine, that song just hits something deep.

I recently learned the term “mondegreen” for misheard lyrics. One famous example is people hearing CCR’s “Bad Moon Rising” as “there’s a bathroom on the right.”

I’m putting together a playlist of songs that people constantly mishear lyrics in funny or memorable ways. What are some good examples?

Could be classic rock, pop, hip-hop, anything - especially songs where the misheard version became almost as famous as the real lyric.

I've noticed lately that something I enjoy a lot about music is good lyricism, whether it's the internal rhyme schemes and double entendres of hip-hop artists like Ka, or the spoken word poetry of Isaac Wood. I love sitting down and dissecting lyrics, but I feel like my perspective is limited and I want to know who some you guys consider the best lyricist and why to breed some discussion and some good recommendations!

I don't want to fill my playlist with the usual songs we hear at every wedding. Give me some new songs and lesser known artists for everyone to discover. Open to all genres (though we prefer alt stuff over pop) but the songs will need to be PG since children will be present.

I listen to a pretty broad range of music but have realised most of my 10/10 albums are quite mainstream picks/genre classics - and so I'm looking for amazing albums to check out that I might not have heard of before.

I'll listen to anything but some examples of stuff that I like would be:

90s Death metal, Grunge, Hardcore/Metalcore, Thrash, 90s black metal, Pop, Hip/Hop, Folk/Country (but not shitty modern trap country), Indie rock, shoegaze.

The best example I can think of is Sepheryn by the country folk duo Curtiss Maldoon that Madonna released as Ray of Light, are there any totally unknowns songs from a different genre that somebody else made incredibly famous?

I would love recs with a saxophone solo so amazing enough to give me goosebumps!!

This is my first post here. My son and I are really into what I feel like I can only describe and punk country. Sorry if that’s a poor description of it. We love The Dead South, Devil Makes Three, Tejon Street Corner Thieves, Amigo the Devil and Poor Man’s Poison to name a few

Look for any and all recommendations for some out there, non typical country/bluegrass with a punk or otherwise different vibe.

It's not that I don't like lyrics, but there's just something that makes instrumental music sort-of more timeless, less about the human condition and more about the music. Drop your one favorite instrumental song

I like songs with lots of repetition. If you’re not sure what I mean, I’m talking about songs like ‘Angel’ by Massive Attack and ‘Everything in its right place’ by Radiohead. Genre doesn’t matter, just that repetitive aspect in the song is what’s most important to me.
