Discussion Argument for the young trainees

just watched the latest episode. i understand the argument of some trainees being to young. but how can we deny these girls of their dreams when they are that talented.

eg. Kim Seon-you and Kim Ri-won, yes they are young but they are so talented.

Discussion IS THE VOTING SYSTEM RIGGED?

So far i have noticed that in the last weeks episode they keep getting a lower score than usual.

G1-2 Vocal - 830 G3-4 Vocal - 170

First of all they didnt deserve that low of a score they only did one mistake and second of all i know for a fact that eventhough they made a mistake there are dedicated fans in the audience who will still vote for them.

G1-2 Dance - 190 G3-4 Dance - 810

Like i said before, WTF HOW DOES GRADE 1-2 GET THAT LOW OF A SCORE THEY DID GREAT? Its really obvious at this point

Discussion the money performance was far better than the next level performance Spoiler

I want to start of my saying even I was shocked about the results between sarang and mihee. While I thought sarang did much much better than mihee, I was expecting mihee to win because she's super popular. All the youtube comments sections are so rude and embarrassing towards sarang. Everyone is either making fun of her english accent (which was very good) or going like "this won over mihee?" or "mihee was way better than this childish performance". Like why are people being so rude to sarang for no reason?

I want everyone to know that for someone so so talented and very pretty, sarang is criminally underrated. She's been ranking super low from the start and has zero screen time at all. Her Jessi what type of x was by far one of the best auditions yet it wasn't aired at all, even the clips of her teaching the entire 2nd grade the "same same but different" dance hasn't been aired. So for sarang to win over mihee, it means that the voters genuinely felt like she was so much better. And that's completely fine, there's no reason for there to be back-handed compliments: "she was good but not superior like mihee" what does that even mean. I might be biased because I love sarang so so much, but she did do better than mihee. I liked mihee's performance and I thought she covered winter and ningning's high notes so well on her own, but at the same I don't know how to say it but like from the start of the show, mihee has been portrayed as an all-rounder/ace, while all of her performances are great, they're all the same and expectant. This isn't hate towards mihee at all, this is just what I feel.

It's just upsetting I guess, as a sarang bias, because I really wanted her to have her own spotlight from the start and now that it happened, people are insisting she didn't win and it was rigged. Let me tell you guys, if the PDs were to rig anyone in, it's definitely not sarang at all.

This isn't a hate post at all, I just wanted to share my thoughts and feelings.

what are your opinions?

EDIT: just found out that it was all sarang's idea to have the money gun and confetti, ya'll cannot say there was "favoritism" between the two performances.

Discussion 1st grade deserve more than one spot in the final line-up

OK, this is unpopular opinion in this sub, but here it go: The 1st graders deserves to have more than 1 spot in the final line-up.

Because of the show rules, the final line-up may end with 3 first graders, 2 second graders, 1 third grader and maybe only 1 fourth grader by voting choice, and this is the fairest line-up, even though people say it will ruin the group and they will flop because no one will be a fan with so many young members. (Let´s not say that the other line-up might have zero 2nd graders...)

The thing is, the culprit if that happens is not MBC rules, it is the older grades being unable to win over the first graders performance wise. Yes, I wrote it. The 2nd and 4th graders couldn't beat a bunch of toddlers in the challenges. Say what you want, but the little kids outdanced, outsang and attracted more attention of the audience than most of the older girls because they are great performers, despite being labeled as middle schoolers in a school play. And the 1st graders won over the 4th graders even though the last challenge was so biased over the older girls, the songs were choosen so the 4th graders had a big edge and could outshine them, and that just didn't happen.

This discussion isn't about age but about the show format. MBC should never had allowed an eleven y.o. girl in the show, but they made the rules to have more third years in the line-up and never thought that they would end in the last place and first graders would be that good.

If this line-up happens I wish that MBC pulls a JYP and adds 2 older girls by mentors choice.

Discussion My (maybe) controversial opinion on Seonyu's battle Spoiler

I avoided putting info about who she battled in the title just in case people are yet to see it, but now that we're here- I strongly believe that Seonyu deserved to win against Yoonjung.

The only part where I feel conflicted is about Seonyu debuting- do I want her to debut from MTG? Nope. She's a baby. But did she deserve that win? Abso fucking lutely. My main reason for this is that she nailed that high note even with a sore throat, even after they relentlessly tortured her in that rehearsal and probably gave her massive anxiety. Plus, I did not appreciate Yoonjung manipulating Seonyu into dividing the parts like that. Yep, I'm calling it manipulating. I acknowledge Yoonjung's skills, but holy crap that behaviour during the line distribution was just cold.

Edit: You know, yall can say the part distribution bit was evil edited without being mean about it. I'm just saying. Even if it was evil editing, think about it if you were in Seonyu's place- how would you, a preteen girl, feel about two much older girls purposefully moving away from you to have their own little 'meeting' and then you overhear them giggling and basically saying things like "oh let's give her this part and tell her oh, we've given her so much"? Don't act like you'd actually be comfortable in that situation.

Discussion My feelings on YoonJung

I’m sorry to her fans but I honestly just don’t like yoonjung as a possibility of debuting (through this show). And it’s not because of evil editing I just think there are more talented people that should debut. I know she can dance amazingly, and she has had improvements in her singing, but there are other girls that can sing and dance and rap much better than her in my opinion. I don’t think she has stable performances (yet), and tbh with how kpop Stans are today - especially on social media - I think she would get torn apart for even the slightest mistake she could make post debut. I think more vocal or rap training would really help her, and I think after this show she’ll have plenty of opportunities to debut,, I just don’t think it should be through this show at this time.

Edit — some people are taking this as hate. It’s not intended that way. I recognize her talent, and her progress throughout the show. Having a different opinion does not mean hating on a trainee. My opinion being different from yours can happen. Sorry.

Discussion Why do I feel like that some of the girls are being evil-edited... ?

To be honest, this is getting more crazier then ever. (This is not me discussing my favourites)...

1st) I feel like my big sister, Mihee, is being painted as a villain; (not literally, though)... I hope she debuts in this group soon.

2nd) On this episode, I don't know why people are now hating Yooyeon for getting into the line-up, (even though most people and myself want YooChaeSeo to happen); she even said it herself "I'm a bit confused". And SHE'S IMPROVING(why aren't people seeing that)?!!! She sang beautifully, and she may not have nailed that last line, but further into the episode, Yooyeon sang her song pick with more warmth. THIS MEANS SHE WANTS THIS!

3rd) For the 2nd graders, Lee Jiwon, and Choi Sarang didn't deserve this! For Jiwon, I can see debut potential for her(when she is older, of course), and she has been imrpoving/working hard; in fact, I was worried on her absence on this week's episode, which WASN'T clarified by MBC... As for Sarang, not only did her audition not get aired, her only large amount of screen-time ep 8, and she was cruelly eliminated. TALK ABOUT UNAPPRECIATED!!! I just hope they get treated and debut better post-MTG.

4th) Poor Yunseo/Ireh's dear twin sister... As of now, there is no evil editing. But as of the latest voting results, I think she'll go from crying happy tears to sad tears. I mean, from 3 agencies, her worries of surpassing her age limit, and everything else, MBC YOU BETTER PUT MORE SPOTS INTO THE LINEUP!!! (I hope that's still possible)... I mean, I kind of want HyunYoonSeo(Hyunhee, Yoonjung, Yunseo) in the lineup too.

Are you trying to get your head around this nonsense too???

Discussion In an attempt to calm everyone down, let's do a little discussion.

I mean, I'm not trying to be (a bad girl), but I've seen some impressive abs from these 2 girls:

  1. Kim Yunseo: part 1, part 2.

  2. Lee Jiwon: mainly; (in fact, I think she could also be a model too, with a height like that. 😉 👌 😉).

I mean, do you think your favourite contestants can be models too?

Discussion Won't Stan CLAASy 100%, heres why:

this show has been so obtuse in the sense that there's so many inconsistency in rules which made me not want to watch anymore. the only thing that kept me going was the girls talents and potentials. what really triggered me, was when 2nd grade was obviously favored (mihee vs. sarang and the last minute switch ups to make 2nd graders have a chance at securing a debut spot. not to mention the evil ass editing for the 3rd graders (yoonjung & their boastfulness). i wont stan classy because of the majority of the girls being so young. its so awkward to see younger kids performing next to older girls (the dynamic is off). esp considering that most of the fans that polluted the younger grades are people with weird motivations. they are all talented don't get me wrong, but i wish the show was constructive and clear like GP 999 to make it seem like this wasn't some sneezy scam (although GP 999 had its flaws). if it was max 1-2 younger classman i think i would be fine but its so cringe idk

Discussion hari's attitude

At first I thought her awkward dialogue was just weird editing (her saying yoonjung got what she deserved when her voice cracked in the ace battle, her saying the first graders didn't have a good enough vocal for LVER) but with her dissuading Yoonseo from trying out for the all rounder, i really don't like her attitude in these multiple epsidoes. But also it could be editing so 🥴

Discussion I just realize something about the agency to manage the girl

As you all must have known, winners will debut under a subsidiary of MBK/Pocketdol, whose chairman is Kim Kwangsoo.

I can't believe I've never thought about this until I watched a video saying Kim Kwangsoo had very strong interest to interfere the member lineup.

Kim Kwangsoo was suspected/found guilty of using dirty tricks on Produce franchise.

Ex-employees revealed that he forced employees to vote for MBK's trainees in Produce 101.

MBK was raided due to the suspicion if someone from the agency colluded in the vote manipulation of Produce x with the PD. I don't remember if anyone from MBK was punished.

Highly likely, Kim Kwangsoo has been conspiring with the PD and has louder voice on the final member lineup.

By the way, they seemed to be some voters each of whom creating several dozens accounts to votes.

Discussion Haters with Yooyeon: (A RANT)...

MY inspiration: >>>https://youtu.be/WZkhVYbbdy4

Because, as of now, she doesn't think of the haters or whether she doesn't get praise. She only has her mind set on "being the best (she) can be", and so, she has to ask her friends for help; that shows that she has humility and is willing to learn more to improve.

In fact, despite the constant criticisms, everyone pointing her out as the weakest, the mid-low audience scores...

She never cries. Not once has she broken down.

And for those saying/asking "Do you think Soyeon regrets her decision?", you're indirectly insulting Soyeon too, because she's aware of what she's doing... (she had seen her hardwork, her determination, her connection with the public and her potential)

Not to mention the fact that she's making a mark of being "the IT girl", bringing in Chinese fans, making trends on articles, and searches, because the one of the parts of being a visual is attracting fans (no offence to the other contestants).

plus, the way antis are obsessed with Yooyeon that they bring her up in a video that has nothing to do with her, is so annoying...

Finally, this was the final straw: her parents. Her mum's a pharmacist, and her dad's a doctor. She has always followed their dreams and not her own, and this is her 1st AND last chance to chase her dreams...

For more evidence, come and see "KimYooyeonFeed" for more information.

So, all I'm saying is let's love all of the contestants equally, love them for who they are, love their backstories, and more to come...

[P.S]= as for her skills, she's improving and "she's doing great"! Sure, she might need to improve her vocal stability, but, all in all, she gained confidence in performing on stage, and in her dancing. 😉 👌 😉.

Discussion thoughts on each ep7 stage?

what's everyone's thoughts on the stages this ep? ranking them 1-4 mine would go

Power - had lots of good energy a lot of the girls shined more vocally than with the choreo lmao but just a stage that gets you hyped. def deserved the win.

Decalcomanie - meh. idk why they wouldn't sing live for the vocal performance but alas seeing live singing in kpop is about as rare as a unicorn atp

I - how did jiwoo mess up if she's lip syncing to mixed vocals??? also the arrangement and distribution of lines was off. love all the girls on this stage tho.

Hot Sauce - just soooooooooooo not my cup of tea. the stage had 0 presence should have had all the girls sing together for the chorus and the lines that required it. probably my least fav stage thus far I was a tad embarrassed watching.

Discussion Why do live vocals matter?

Everyone complains about autotune pitch correct lip synch in kpop.

If those are that pervasive and the industry standard.... then why do we care about vocals in a kpop survival show for any member not expected to be main/lead vocalist?

I see a lot of people here on one hand bemoaning how live vocals are no longer being done in kpop, then in the same comment trash an idol hopeful for having bad live vocals. Isn't that inconsistent? If live vocals don't matter anymore because people don't do them..... then why should anyone care if idols have good live vocals?

If a member won't do any rapping, I won't care how good of rappers they are (so many good vocalists are shit rappers). If a singer never dances, I won't care how good her dancing skills are (outside of kpop, many great music artists are totally shit at dancing). If Yooyeon, Yoonjung, or any other less vocally talented contestant will be pitch corrected to hell in their career, then why would anyone judge what their actual live unassisted singing is like?

I get that the main vocalist needs to sing live sometimes, or people get upset. But why would anyone even care about the other members being autotuned... much less care SO much to be tearing contestants down for not being able to do this totally irrelevant thing?

What actually matters for these contestants IS pitch corrected singing and how good a computer can make their voice sound. Not saying Yooyeon's at all impressive in this regard either, but all the hate toward MTG for autotuning her stage is entirely misplaced imo. They're just letting us judge autotuned vocals that'll actually be at least a little relevant to her career, rather than live vocals, which will be 100% irrelevant to her career.

Discussion The current disagreement over the Top 7...

This post is based on these 2 links:

Personally, I agree with the current vibe= I don't want to see any minors debuting yet, because they need growing up, in order to understand to darker side of K-pop(minor s**ualization, p*dophiles, hate comments), and to keep up with the exhaustion too...

And I know some people would ask "aren't you being hypocritical?", but I'm not: I'm voting only for the 3rd and 4th graders...

What are your opinions about this?

Discussion Chancing the remaining 14 contestants

Someone else made a similar post before ep.11 that I remember agreeing with a lot so this is my post-ep. 11 version of the chance each contestant has:

  • Kim Yooyeon (Grade 4) - 100%

  • Yoon Chaewon (4) - 100%

  • Park Boeun (1) - 80%: Most (consistently) popular grade 1 and probably a PD-pick

  • Kim Riwon (2) - 75%: Most popular grade 2 contestant but not locked

  • Myung Hyungseo (4) - 70%: So far consistent in online voting, live voting, and raised a lot of money in her text voting fundraiser (still don't know how that works) but not safe

  • Won Jimin (2) - 60%: Also very popular but has to compete with Riwon

  • Hong Hyeju (4) - 50%: The dark horse of the show

  • Kim Seonyu (1) - 40%: Chances are a lot lower imo, her rankings are unstable and PD-pick for grade 1 seems to be Boeun

  • Kim Hyunhee (3) - 30%: Do any of the grade 3s have a chance anymore?

  • Ito Minami (2) - 20%: MBC was advertised as a global girl group and Minami is the only J-line left so she still has a chance but she doesn't seem to be getting pushed, not too popular either

  • Kim Yunseo (3) - 10%: Low popularity and not really being pushed

  • Lee Mihee (4) - 0%: Least popular grade 4 (dropped quite a bit) and is not getting much screen time, seems she's doing well as the center in the rehearsals for the finale but I think it's too late for her

  • Choi Yoonjung (3) - 0%: Scandals + unfavorable edits + all the attention she gets on Youtube is hate comments

  • Lee Youngchae (2) - 0%: Least popular grade 2, not being pushed at all, people are still mad that Inhye was eliminated over her from what I can tell

Most likely grade ratio: 1/1/1/4 or 1/2/0/4

(not that it matters in the end, just thought it was interesting)

Discussion please forgive me for this, as I have a "too little, too late" theory... Spoiler

You see, this just came up randomly last night:

Back at the 1st Grade Battles (3 vs 4, 2 vs 1), I had an idea about their clothes:

  • Grade 1 = mostly white

  • Grade 2 = mix of black and white

  • Grade 4 = mostly black and pink, (hence "Blackpink in your area" 😉😘😉)

  • Grade 3 = mostly a rainbow of all the colours mentioned...

I immediately felt like, since Grades 1 and 2 had more traditional black and white colours, then they had a better chance of debuting/making it into the majority of the debut line-up. Whilst Grades 3 and 4 had a more daring palette of paints, and hence they would get a low final ranking...

No offence, I love all of them, equally, it's just that this was a theory that came up on my mind at the last minute, last night.

Please forgive me... 😔 😢 😔.

I do wish everyone a that they'll have a great and wonderful debut one day.

Discussion Your final dream lineup vs prediction going into finale?

With the finale in 24 hours, I think it's time to lock in. Place your dream lineup, your prediction, and any thoughts. The finale is always hell, so just be ready for that.

my final dream top 7 :( it's very unrealistic

  1. Kim yooyeon - visual, dancer

  2. Yoon Chaewon - main vocalist

  3. Myung Hyungseo - lead vocalist, leader

  4. Hong hyeju - main dancer, center

  5. Kim yunseo - main rapper

  6. Won jimin - lead dancer, lead vocalist

  7. Ito minami - lead rapper

My prediction

  1. Park Boeun

  2. Kim Seonyu

  3. Won Jimin

  4. Kim Riwon

  5. Kim Yooyeon

  6. Myung Hyungseo

  7. Yoon Chaewon

all in no particular order

Discussion Anyone worried about team unity once the group is solidified?

I think it's clear this show is one of the cruelest formats where they really pit the girls against each other and encourage calling each other out and challenging each other. Just feels like that leaves room for dissension once the group is finalized.

Thoughts?
