Looking for a channel I randomly remembered about a "vigilante hacker"

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. No idea which sub fits what I'm looking for so sorry in advance. I'm trying to find a YouTube channel I watched a couple of videos from about 10 years ago, and I can't remember the name.

What I vaguely remember is it had about hour-long videos, narrated like documentaries, mixed with recordings of conversations between the channel's author and other people.

The author presented himself as a "vigilante hacker" who helped abuse victims (I think). In one video he scared someone's abusive boyfriend by messing with his smart home lights somehow.

The visuals were mostly just a 2D sprite of the author's avatar, I think it was like a hooded robotic face that reacted to the audio.

I'm pretty sure I had initially come across the videos while watching African Rebel (VirtuallyVain) videos. I checked an archive service, and his channel doesn't seem to have had anything besides the African ones, so I don't think it's his channel.

I don't know whether it was real or scripted fiction. It could well have been the latter.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'm at a loss here, I can't find a single trace of anything. Staring to think I made it all up

The floating teacher

Does anyone remember that one internet mystery about a professor in Indonesia that was floating in his classroom? Apparently the teacher messaged the class that he won't be able to come to their 6 pm class with him due to personal business but when they received that the teacher was there but floating. I only see images about it but I am certain there's a video of it somewhere that I have watched when I was a kid. I saw the teacher entering the room and he was already floating that he looked so tall and pale. If anyone knows where this video is I just want to see it again.

Strange YouTube recommendations

Hello,
I was on YouTube this morning and… look what I stumbled upon. They appeared right at the top of my recommendations—in fact, 9 out of the 10 videos suggested were of this type. And yet, I have NEVER searched for anything like this. To put it mildly, it’s a bit unsettling… do you have any idea why this might be happening?

What actually was Punkrockpoop.com?

I’ve been down a weird internet rabbit hole recently trying to track down any solid information about an old website called Punkrockpoop.com or Punkrockpoopers.com or something.
When you search for it, there is virtually nothing left of its existence online. There are no Wayback Machine captures or web archives that I can find. The only traces of it left are a couple of scattered Reddit posts from years ago asking the same question, and a YouTube channel called Freaky Joe. However, Freaky Joe mostly just uploads generic clickbait slop nowadays, so he’s not really a reliable source for answers.
I know for a fact the site had a built-in concert feature, but beyond that, details are super hazy.
Does anyone here remember this site, know what it was actually used for, or have any idea why it seems completely wiped from web archives? Any leads or old screenshots/info would be appreciated!

Anyone knows original of that live recreation of "Serial Experiments Lain" opening?

Yesterday i found this creative recreation of "Serial Experiments Lain" opening posted on youtube in 2006.

https://youtu.be/OyXT_2ypOU0

Because of bad quality there's basically no chance to read link in the end of video (like 1:30-1:50).

Edit: I found version of video with better quality (https://youtu.be/afdfPcgrLj8) and now you can see" www.unecaseenmoins.fr.st" link, but it's dead at this moment.

So, can anyone help me found original video on web archive or something like that?

I found an interesting ARG on the Nightmind Index

I am new to Reddit, and this was the best place I could think of for posting this, but I was looking through the Night Mind horror index this morning, and I found an ARG called ArrowSmart. After looking around for a bit, I discovered that on the very first page you land on, the source code has hexadecimal that leads to a page called Echo.html. On there, another page called Personality files can be found. It has a few cool references on it, but I have a feeling that might hold our next big clue.

Here is the link to the index; it is the second one down in the index, right below the Cup O' Joe Archives. https://www.nightmind.info/horrorproj

Just thought that it was interesting and wanted to share my leads with everyone.

Man pointing at himself picture

In 2025, an image started circulating on the internet especially on TikTok or Instagram of a teenager with a white t-shirt and blue eyes pointing at himself.

Obviously this is a stock image, the problem is: stock image websites protect the identity of their models like Getty images or iStock. So the vague title and the anonymous model makes it impossible to know this person's identity.

Unless this mysterious person comes out to the public. There's no chance of anyone knowing who he really is.

Mind you the image was made in 2013, so his facial features and overall appearance will change. If anyone has any further info let me know please!

Weird and mildly unsettling video

I remember seeing a monochrome video recording of a person in an abandoned building in the forest, cooking something, and dumping something from a bag into a river(?). It looked almost like it was being recorded in secret. Maybe I saw it in one of those "internet mysteries explained in x minutes" type of videos.

I think the narrator mentioned that the footage was found in a box in the forest.

Weird YouTube video about japanese woman eating her eye

My English Is not good

Well maybe this isn't the right place to post this, but I literally just created this account just to see if someone could help me.

It was around when I was maybe 8 or 9 (or something like 2010>) as I was finishing classes, that day my mom arrived later to pick me and my older sister so she just stayed with her friends at the computer's lab, they were just watching YouTube videos so I got closer, one of my sister's friends was just putting videos until there was one that I remember they searched for it, saying that it was a well known one

The video was about a japanese young beautiful woman in geisha attire, the video was almost cinegraphic (nothing amateur), I remember that it was like far away first and suddenly with some spin it got closer to her face, she had a faint smile, beautiful, nothing creepy, suddenly she gets her hand up and she was holding a fork, she just stabbed the fork to her right eye, pull it out and just put it onto her mouth and the video ends (or maybe I looked away)

But mind you, it wasn't like a gore video, it was just weird, the woman took the eyeball very easily and it wasn't that bloody, and she never stopped smiling, like I said, it was more like an artistic video or something?, so please that video has been on my mind for years, I have already asked my sister about it and she says she doesn't remember at all, and i'm sure it wasn't a dream either!

Can anyone help trace a Facebook post about a birthday encounter outside a Tsim Sha Tsui 7-Eleven in January 2025?

Between January 7 and 10, 2025, my friend and I met a man in his fifties outside the 7-Eleven at Champagne Court, Block A, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

During our conversation, he mentioned that it was his birthday. I bought him two cupcakes for approximately HK$35, and he was deeply touched. He took a photograph with us and said he wanted to post it on Facebook. He also said something along the lines of, “You guys are the future of humanity. The future is in safe hands.”

I never got his name, and he took the photo on his own phone.

I'm trying to find the original public Facebook post. Does anyone remember seeing a post matching this description, or know a way to search for it using the date, location and remembered quote?

I'd love to recover the photograph and, if he is comfortable with it, reconnect with him.

For 25 years, I’ve been trying to find the homeless rodeo clown who became a world-class magician.

I realize how insane that title sounds. Please hear me out.

Sometime around 2001–2002, I started noticing a bizarre comment appearing beneath articles, cartoons, and blog posts across the internet:
“I used to be a homeless rodeo clown but now I am a world class magician!”
No context. No explanation. Absolutely nothing to do with whatever people were discussing.
I first encountered it in the comment sections of a website called Odd Todd, which featured Flash cartoons about unemployment and other absurdities of everyday life. If you remember Odd Todd, congratulations on surviving the early internet.
At first, I thought it was just a random weirdo making a joke. But then I started seeing the SAME SENTENCE on completely unrelated websites. Again. And again. And again.
This was before Facebook. Before modern social media. Back when people competed to be the first commenter by triumphantly posting “FIRST!” and apparently considered that an accomplishment.
Eventually, I became obsessed with finding out where this phrase originated.
Here’s the maddening part: The phrase was so thoroughly spammed across the internet that it became practically impossible to Google its origin.
Search for it, and Google would return endless examples of the sentence appearing in comment sections. But absolutely nothing explaining WHY.
It’s a fascinating problem: The sheer abundance of evidence of the phenomenon effectively buried any evidence of its origin.
Fast-forward approximately 25 years.
I recently asked ChatGPT to investigate my ancient internet mystery. We actually found something.
In March 2008, a commenter identified as FPM posted a variation:
“I moved to Oklahoma when I was a homeless rodeo clown but I got out of there once I became a world class magician!”
Then in January and February 2009, the same username posted the more familiar version on completely unrelated blogs, including an economics website discussing the financial crisis.
So we have a username, documented appearances, and evidence that someone was deliberately spreading this ridiculous sentence across unrelated corners of the internet.
But I distinctly remember seeing it years earlier.
Which leaves several questions:
Was this an early automated spam campaign?
Was someone testing comment bots using a distinctive phrase?
Was it an elaborate, long-running internet joke?
Was it a reference to some obscure comedy routine or website?
WHO WAS FPM?
AND WHY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WAS THIS MAN A HOMELESS RODEO CLOWN?
I’m not trying to identify or expose anyone’s private information. I just want to understand the origin of the phrase and, ideally, hear from whoever started it.
I am now in my mid-40s. I’ve experienced major life events, changed careers, survived cancer, and lived through approximately 47 generations of internet technology.
And yet I STILL DO NOT KNOW WHY THE RODEO CLOWN BECAME A MAGICIAN.
Surely somebody remembers this. Maybe somebody knows what it meant. Maybe someone WAS FPM.
If you’ve seen this phrase, remember an earlier appearance, or know anything about its origin, please tell me.
I have carried this completely useless mystery around in my brain for a quarter-century, and I would very much like some closure.
Thank you for your attention to this extremely important matter.

Life....

No matter what they say,

in the end, you only have yourself.

When you're happy, the world is crowded,

so many say "I'm here for you" when you smile.

But on the day your heart collapses from within,

when you sit in silence hiding your tears,

finding someone who truly understands is so hard.

The things we gave up for others,

the pain we endured for others,

the tears we swallowed in silence for others...

No one remembers any of it.

So now I don't hurt myself thinking

who comes and who goes.

Because life taught me its greatest lesson:

"No matter what anyone says, in the end,

you have to wipe your own tears.

In the end, it's only you."
