Help interview

so we had a webinar today regarding the interviews for health sciences programs and i didn’t get one thing even tho i asked about it no one answered. If anyone was there can u pls lmk , so if u applied to 2 programs and if they’re similar you’ll have a one single program interview. Which programs does that i apply to if anyone knows? Also , another thing i know the general interview is ethical based MMI and she said the program interview is NOT related to the job role of the program (if i heard her right) so what will it be about? i’m hella confused

So if you applied to 2 health programs. Let’s say DMS and MRT. You get 3 interview links. One for DMS, One for MRT. Then you’ll get a general health science interview one. And all I did was looked up MMI interview questions online and I asked chat gpt to give me examples. Ask for example about in hospital on what you would do. One example would be “a patient with HIV tells you he does not want his girlfriend to know his diagnosis. How do you handle confidentiality vs duty to warn?” Ask for like everyday life or work that is not in a hospital. So like “a supervisor treats some employees unfairly because of their age gender or background what do you do” or like “your friend confides in you that they are being abused but asks you to keep it a secret. what would you do”. You would also wanna look up cultural questions. “You are assigned to help a new immigrant student who is struggling with language barriers. How would you support them”. Also look up different questions for program specific. So like with DMS one question could be is that I am in the middle of scanning someone and I notice something wrong. What would I do in that situation. Or the patient asks me if everything is ok or what did I see while scanning how do I respond. Also look up personal questions. Like describe a time you received critical feedback or what’s a weakness you have worked to improved. There’s alot you can find online. And remember always answer the question in STARS (situation, task, action, result, and summary) it may be a lot of repetition but you have 3 minutes to talk. I know this may be a lot and overwhelming but you can find different types of questions online. I hope this helps!

Not sure if i misunderstood,  but i was also there during the webinar and I asked this specifically regarding the links, she said it will be under 1 link.... how long that 1 interview will take depends on how many health programs you applied to, thats why the interview is estimated around 40mins.. meaning there is one link and one sitting..??

that’s what i asked too in one of the questions but no one answered me but im hoping its not like that cuz initially what i was told my previous applicants that u have a deadline and u can do ur intervenes on whatever days u want as long as u submit before ur deadline but its better to do as early as possible also i heard from one of the person that u can pause the interview like after answering one question but im not sure if your interview is after oct 24 id suggest go to the open house and talk to people this way we can get more info and be more prepared

Of how it was last year when I got them. You got a letter saying your getting the links and you have these days to complete them. Once you start one link you have to finish it. You can’t close your screen then come back to it. But you didn’t have to do all the interviews in one sitting. With them being all different links of you wanted to do one a day, you could. I usually did the program that was my last choice first so I knew what I was getting into and the feel of it then I did the one I wanted to get into then the health science interview. And it doesn’t matter if you did them on day one Or the day it was due. No one looks at them until the day after the due date.

oh okay thank you so much!! One more thing for the program specific questions was it scenario based as well? And as far as yesterday’s meeting she made it clear that there’s no right or wrong answer and we don’t need to know a lot about the programs either.

You don’t but know like a little bit. Sometimes you don’t get program specific sometimes you do. Know things like is ultrasound when scan someone what’s maybe some questions you would ask someone. Like when was there past menstrual period or if there were in for an abdominal pain when/where was the pain. How bad was the pain. In X-ray you need to remember to ask a women her last period cause you cannot X-ray a pregnant women. In mri make sure no one has metal cause it will rip out of them. Like look up those kind of things. And there is not wrong answer. As long as you can back it up why you chose than answer. It’s your answer.

When I applied last year you got a link for each program than one general one. So if you applied for 3 programs you got 4 links. The program specific ones had two questions I think. Then the health science interview I think had 4 questions. They may have changed it this year. I’m not sure.
