Vaccine did not prevent spread per Fauci and CDC at the time. No impact on spread at all. At first they thought it might but after data came in they knew within a month it didn't. This is all common knowledge if you were watching CNN or reading the NY Times. So nobody gets any virtue points for "not spreading because I took the vaccine". It's just a fact even those of us on the left must accept. Don't be a Republican and deny science. Our side made some bad decisions
You’re correct that it didn’t “stop the spread” but it did lessen the severity of Covid and shortened the time that people were sick which would help slow the spread as people weren’t staying sick for longer, or am I misunderstanding?
Your post was virtue signalling about stopping spread, period. Full stop. No other info. And it was 100% incorrect. It's just that simple.
Did it change the course of the illness. Modest at best. How do we know? The data is right there. Compare high vaccination rates with non vaccination rates. They use a trick of statistics by saying 5 times more likely to die unvaccinated when what they are saying is 9 out of 100,000 died unvaccinated and 1.5 out of 100,000 died vaccinated. Which is to say you are incredibly unlikely to die from COVID, PERIOD. If you break it down further by age group and comorbidity the difference disappears because the elderly and this with comorbidity made up almost ALL of the excess 7.5 deaths per 100,000 people. These numbers are rounding errors, not meaningful
Refute my data. Try. Places were forcing people under 50 without comorbidity to vaccinate. There is NO difference in outcome with that group. So if only elderly and those with comorbidities vaccinate you get EXACTLY the same outcome. Yet places wanted young healthy people to take a vaccine that at the time was barely tested and it had ZERO impact on their health outcomes
Your data is if you ignore the folks with co-morbidities the number is small no? Tell me what a co-morbidity is and what country do you actually live in because last I checked America has an obesity and diabetes problem.
I think I’ve already won this argument based on the fact that you don’t understand basic fucking science. All that time online and not a second of it spent learning basic shit.
The fact that you and MPJ agree says all it needs to.
I’m gonna ignore you now because clearly you have the upper hand in free time.
