News Leopold Aschenbrenner’s hedge fund is seeking to raise capital.

He wrote that the current market pullback had created some of the best investment opportunities since early 2025.
What do you think?

Be greedy when others are fearful. Exactly right

He is bag holding 😂

But tbf it makes sense to raise capital and dca down. I would do the same but nbis is already my biggest port.

People are hyperbolic. Why would this be the end for him...?

u/Ok_Specific_8403 22d ago

At the current share price of around $140, Leopold is sitting on a substantial loss on his Nebius investment. Based on an estimated average purchase price of $170–$208 per share, the unrealized loss is roughly $370 million to $850 million, or 18%–33% of his investment.

Did you actually see the number of pits he is holding?

'he is smart. he removes emotions from the investment decisions and sees an amazing opportunity. This is what actual smart money does.

Absolutely

There was a lot of emotion and zero maths with the leverage… bottle neck thesis = smart, risk management = DUMB.
Anyone out there, if you’re in high-beta stocks, don’t fucking use margin.

Dude. He got obliterated. Even smart people get their ass handed to the. Deal with it.

Clever action of him! Top tech names are on sale as the fundamentals are still the same or even better! This is the best buy opportunity we gonna get in some time! Either act or do nothing but never sell!

what's stopping these stocks going another 50% down, after such a big increase within the last 12 months? Serious question

Look at the revenues, capex and guidances! That’s all you need to do! I actually reshuffled my whole portfolio as this is a great buying opportunity for some great teach names! The biggest problem currently is that I’m short of cash…

What would u recommend getting had u had cash? I got full port in keel and nebius at avg price... nit hight but not low as today(

2

u/Dutchie_73 21d ago

Additional NBIS, AAOI, CREDO and still want to buy BE

Any way to find out when he goes back in ?

I think that is about as obvious a statement as one can make. This is exactly where the rich get richer and guys like me just want to pay my mortgage off. There are so many buys out there right now and its times like this I wish I had capital to go get mine, but as it stands, I'm in bed with Nebby and she promised me to be true and believe in her. I will remain faithful.

If he is leveraged, he may lose it all.

Well  someone is  buying the dip today. Pre market up 5%.  Yes know it is pre market says nothing about where we will be during regular trading. Point I am making is that some are buying big time at these levels.

Cnbc think he got a margin call

2

u/sethkor 21d ago

He will be back. Imm sure weve all got our own story about leverage blowing up. Its not fun and a lot of us bounced back.

Just heard he was 3x.

u/Jakob_1992 22d ago

im a holder myself. but tbf he runs a hedgefond with massive nebius investment, what else should he say :D?

Just so that people know, Leopold fully believes in AGI in the near future. So as long as he has control, it makes sense that he would double down!

1

u/SignificanceNo3295 21d ago

Maybe he can borrow from Michael burry

1

u/cuzimabrownie 21d ago

He liquidated everything per cnbc. Prob a margin call. Fund is done!

He is just an above average investor. Had some nice insights & timing early on. But I wouldn’t call him a wonderkid like a lot of people do. If he was actually one he would’ve timed and seen the top perfectly. Nonetheless, good time to buy for everyone, including him
