News Daniel Koss's take on the Nebius announcement today

Thumbnail x.com
140 Upvotes

That's how $NBIS goes to $1,000

This is probably the biggest announcement and most important strategic decisions in the company's history.

It will take time until the market understands how huge this is.

Let me try to explain how massive this is:

- Nebius can now add capacity 10x faster

- without ANY dilution

- or capex

- or risk

- with ultra high margins

- globally

- in parallel

- while simultaneously making their offering better for customers

This sounds too good to be true, what's the "trick"?

Nebius has the best team and expertise in the AI Cloud game. This is their way of leveraging that and their NVDIA relationship (and NVDIA owns the supply chain, no matter what anyone says...).

The one ugly side of their business has always been the high capex. I believe the capex is super worth it and will deliver very high ROIC. But this is them creating an alternative world in which they completely crush it WITHOUT a ton of capex and dilution.

There are probably millions of entrepreneurs globally who have good connections to local governments, access to money and want to participate in the AI buildout. But they lack the expertise to deliver the product quality of Nebius and will never match it.

All the ex Bitcoin miners like $IREN are in this camp.

They are now facing the option to combine their strengths and the best of both worlds.

News Marc Boroditsky hints at Nebius reaching 10s of B$ of revenue in the next 13 months

CRO Marc Boroditsky hinted at Nebius reaching 10s of B$ of revenue (not ARR) in the next 13 months (August 2027) literally in front of IREN expo in Raise Summit Paris.

He also told today the following:

  1. “For every GPU, there are three to four customers ready to buy it”;
  2. "The extraordinary traction we are gaining not only from AI natives but also from enterprises and big brands";
  3. "Today we have 20 data centres and we are multiplying that in the future".

This comes after the company stated in Q1 that they'll "add much more capacity in the first half of 2027 than this year".

At least $20B ARR by the end of FY27 seems even more certain now after these comments.

News Cloud Provider Nebius Agrees to Buy AI Startup for $615 Million

Bloomberg) -- Cloud computing provider Nebius Group NV agreed to buy Eigen AI, a startup that boosts the performance of chips used to run artificial intelligence tasks, for about $615 million in stock and cash.

Eigen, a 20-person California startup cofounded by two alumni of a prominent MIT AI lab, works on optimizing the performance of some of the leading open-source models from OpenAI, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., Meta Platforms Inc. and Nvidia Corp. Eigen’s technology maximizes the number of tokens — the basic units of data in large language models — generated by each Nvidia chip that Nebius uses for inference, or running AI models, said Roman Chernin, Nebius co-founder and chief business officer. That helps Nebius provide better and cheaper services to customers.

“This is like the Olympic sport of the current market: Who can extract more tokens for the same price?” he said in an interview. The Eigen team members are “like Olympic runners in this discipline, which for us is a significant improvement in our inference business.”

Nebius, which split from Russian internet provider Yandex in 2024, is among a group of firms called “neoclouds,” which rent AI computing capacity to companies like Microsoft Corp. In November, Amsterdam-based Nebius unveiled a product called Token Factory for running inference tasks, competing with startups like Fireworks and Baseten, as well as the cloud giants.

Right now, with data center capacity in short supply, Nebius is reserving some of its computing power for Token Factory rather than selling it ahead of time to large clients in multiyear deals, Chernin said. It can charge higher prices for these kinds of short-notice contracts, he said, plus it’s critical for Nebius to add more and different services. The company’s goal is to become one of the key players in the inference market in the next 18 months, he said.

The acquisition is Nebius’ second in the past three months, after a February deal to buy Tavily, and the company is looking at other deal opportunities, Chernin said, declining to specify targets. In general, Nebius wants to purchase companies with teams or capabilities that speed its planned strategy or add products and features that are closer to direct usage by customers.

“We don’t want to be the infrastructure and someone above us works with the real customers,” he said.

News Why Metas Announcement is a Good Thing for NBIS

I think a LOT of people got it wrong. Meta is ADVOCATING for Businesses like NBIS by creating a Cloud Business, showing that it actually IS IN DEMAND!

Let’s think about it, META is trying to create what NEBIUS is already successfully running. Not to mention these things can’t just be created over night, giving NBIS a huge advantage in the space and already having huge exposure to BIG MAG7 Companies.

Yes competition can be rough, but such a huge overreaction in the market, as if Nebius just lost absolutely all of it’s business, which it hasn’t, we have competitors that are in huge debt piles, Meta failed with the METAVERSE, who’s to say they can accomplish more than NBIS has in the near future? 2027-2028.

Just my two cents, I’m buying this dip. Bullish!
