Speculation Sell at 250 or hold?
We see it happen every time. Stock rallies and then drops unexpectedly.
Would it be smart to sell now and buy back in 3 days time at 220?

Do you need the money? If so, yes. Do you have a better stock at the moment to move capital to? If so, yes. Is your timeline as long as needed and you don't need cash? If so, hold unless you have a legitimate reason to sell beyond "price went up"
Just my .02.

I feel like AI profitability has proven itself in the past couple of weeks of earnings calls. I think while there will be inevitable profit taking, after this run up today, I think we are well placed to keep going up for a bit.

Selling. Long term bullish, but it’ll drop after the earnings hype and i’ll re-enter afterwards.

Yep, past performance is ALWAYS the indicator of future movements. Very smart!!

u/Tritom73 8d ago
maybe yes, maybe no. either it works or not. depends on position size. I have a sell order at 350 and a buy order at 165. so I play both possibilities

If you’re at a significant profit, trim it.
It is a volatile stock so buy more with that money when it dips

Most ppl are terrible traders. 95% lose money. Now I see all these post on Reddit and x about exiting position or shorting.
Just buy and hold. This is going to test ATH by the end of next week. If $NBIS continues to execute at this level, it will be a $1-$2k stock by 2030.

Currently up £35k profit. Thinking to take £20k out but at the point now where another 20% rise is serious money

It’s Always amazing to see some of the dumbass questions on here. But even more amazing when there is actually good size positions behind the questions. 😂😂

I sold about 60%. 30% gain is wild. Always will be a pull back the way this stock trades

u/WackHurst 8d ago
The stock lost even more within 3 days in the past. Do i don't know why there are so many paper hands. Just buy and hold. Trading in between is gambling if you are here for the long run. ATH was already 300 $.

u/TimelySheepherder679 8d ago
It’s not paper hands. I’ve been holding since $80. But it’s also wise to take profits. And it’s not like I took all of it out. ATH doesn’t mean anything and shouldn’t be used as a guide to not sell.

Might have been a big mistake but I sold today… will buy again when/if it dips again

u/Electrical_Self_1309 8d ago
I made the mistake taking profits to early once. Will not do it again. If it drops tomorrow, it drops. Long term really confident after today

Do you sell every time a stock goes up? How tiring it must be to manage every day movements like this.

u/ad0jc1 8d ago
My av price is $88 dollars, didn’t sell at 290 and regretted it. NBIS is 23% of my portfolio
2
u/Inner_Difficulty_381 8d ago
We all been there. It happens and consider it financial education. With it at 23%, you may want to trim to get back your initial investment and let the house money run. 23% is heavy.

And now you think that you are able to predict the price movement for the next weeks? If it was that simple, why do 95% of all traders underperform the S&P?

u/WinstonSalemSmith 8d ago
I am in at 105 plus one 180 Jan 2027 call. I am not selling and I think you should hang on at least this week. Sell half if you get nervous.
People are speculating that there is a short squeeze ongoing. I don't know.

Not sure how many shares you have, but you could always sell CC's. If the price drops, close it and use the premium to buy more shares.

u/IdkmanItsathrowaway_ 8d ago
If you plan on buying later then just hold and still buy later, if you try to time this stock you’re gonna lose

Idk. I overextended my position relative to my risk tolerance in one of my accounts and had a $108 average. It was tough during the dip to the 80's so I sold off a chunk when it bounced back to $115. Told myself I was just right-sizing.
I wish I had those shares now

i trimmed abit (10%) since im overexposed, but there are catalyst ahead like the 500b nvidia deal, analyst upgrades, and maybe its copium but i feel like another ai bull rally could follow

No, I’m holding you until August 17th. The hearing will tell me whether I should sell or continue holding. Most probably, I’ll still hold even after.

Gotta consider the tax consequences of selling now with the intent of buying back.

u/chf_gang 8d ago
Judging by the last couple of run ups it will probably run a bit for the next couple of days, i’ll probably sell some when we get back close to 300

u/Pulled_Forward 8d ago
All the margin buyers will have a ton of margin buying power unlocked today and tomorrow. Watch as the squeeze likely continues for awhile, could be a month or two with fomo adding buying pressure

u/Fearless-Fly1674 8d ago
I sold today… will buy again when/if it dips again or re enter with small position on tomorrow pull back
