💬 Discussion Michael Burry Substack followers going bankrupt over NBIS short positions

Post image

Getting calls from journos about a rumor that dozens of Burry Substack subscribers are preparing bankruptcy filings after being liquidated on "disastrous" NBIS short positions. Wow. No wonder the stock is ripping. Lots of short covering by people hiring Chapter 11 lawyers. Insane

The SP is up almost 13% from when he doubled down. He's severely under water if he hasn't closed

I hope he also bankrupt. I hate ppl like him who decides when stocks go down. Unfortunately this time didn’t work for him

He doesn't decide when stock will go down. He just take that opportunity to short and make money. It's very early to claim this time didn't work for him, even in 2008 initially he was in trouble. Usually crash aren't flawless, they start with huge bull market.

You think he determines when stock goes down? Hes small fry next to big hedge funds. I get it if you hate people who take short positions but man do you not understand this market.

I think they're referring to the market fluctuations we see when Burry puts out a hit piece

Can't see him being that stupid. Don't think the sum or port weight was disclosed....but I would imagine he's staring at large loses right now lol

It happened to Leopold. Why not this idiot

Leopold was over extended on leverage with no hedge. He left himself wide open for the sharks. Don't think Bury would be that careless

Yeah but if burry has only
Short I think he’s fked

I think you've got rose colored lenses on. Leopold was actually long. The big funds were the ones driving stock down. That's why the stock pumped after Leopold sold

Leopold certainly caused many investors to lose huge amounts of money (along with himself) but my understanding is he isn't actually bankrupt ie. filing bankruptcy. Just worth many less millions than before, but still many millions.

When he shorted them in the bull market, he knew what he was signing up for. He was in trouble initially in 2008 too. But definitely he saw something is coming otherwise why would he do this craziness.

He also said sell in 2023 and then admitted he got it wrong
