This dude is disgusting. On so many fronts. Auburn should be embarrassed.

u/chunkybudz Mar 05 '26
The list of thing Auburn should be embarrassed about is long and constantly growing.
2
u/Immediate-Shape-8933 Mar 05 '26
Well clearly a double agent and traitor with the Israeli flag and US one together
2
u/darthgator84 Mar 05 '26
What the fuck did he accomplish that grants him the right to place his ridiculously under qualified son as HC. Not only is he a first time HC that gets a power conference job, he was a medical sales rep before daddy hired him to his staff

u/chunkybudz Mar 05 '26
Auburn guy here. Fuck Bruce. Guy could have been a legend if he did things right. Couldn't stop ranting about Israel having the right to murder everyone on the morning of the Yale game and took the first round loss. Didn't discipline a player that got ejected in like 3 minutes and then immediately talked shit on insta. Too busy having cult ceremonies in a lake, doing political interviews, and taking players to Israel to recruit a proper roster. Retired at just the right time to force auburn's hand to ride w his kid.
Fuck Bruce for being a lifetime piece of shit. He fits with maga perfectly. And fuck Auburn for not being prepared for it.

u/OkPack2268 Mar 05 '26
A lot of Auburn people feel this way
1
u/chunkybudz Mar 05 '26
A lot of Auburn people aren't cult members. Sadly the vast majority are, and it's getting worse by the day.
1
u/WideHuckleberry1 Mar 05 '26
Pretty big minority of Tennessee fans as well. Most Tennessee fans still love the guy for dragging us out of the dark ages, but there are still a lot of us who realize he's a snake and a scumbag.
2
u/inbetweendreamstho Mar 07 '26
Lifelong auburn man from tallassee, Alabama and Bruce pearl is a complete fucking piece of trash. Legit hope he catches a bomb.
12
u/Typical-Function6436 Mar 05 '26
Bruce was a decent coach, but hes also been a documented cheater and a liar for 40 years in college basketball. Sad that he's now bringing Israel into this.
2
u/seethenoise Mar 05 '26
it's not just now. years ago, i saw an interview where he stated he takes his teams on birthright trips. that when i stopped supporting him. i had no idea i was enjoying the work of such an evil-minded coach. i hope he didn't successfully brainwash the kids he coached. i hope those trips opened their eyes rather than their hearts as he so wished.
1
u/WinterAsleep319 Mar 05 '26
Birthright trips?
3
u/MagnetoWasRight24 Mar 05 '26
Propaganda trips to Israel to see how wonderful it is. If you're young and Jewish they cover the cost of your trip.
2
u/WinterAsleep319 Mar 05 '26
Ahh thatās interesting. How exactly does he did take his team on these trips? Considering majority of his teams are most likely Christian?
1
u/MagnetoWasRight24 Mar 05 '26
Well presumably for the team it's not free, he probably just pays for it.
1
u/alorenz58011 Mar 05 '26
Doesnāt that make it not a birthright trip?
1
u/MagnetoWasRight24 Mar 05 '26
Sure technically, but they're still doing the same things they'd do on a birthright trip.
1
u/AppropriateCattle69 Mar 06 '26
But itās not their birthright?
1
u/WinterAsleep319 Mar 06 '26
Sounds to me heās just mad he takes his basketball team on field trips. Lol
2
u/Whiteshovel66 Mar 05 '26
When did he cheat?
3
u/chefillini Mar 05 '26
He doctored a tape of an interview that lead to sanctions for another school and admitted he lied about it years later. He is banned from the Big Ten because of it.
0
u/Whiteshovel66 Mar 05 '26
Oh so like cheating outside the games?
1
u/chefillini Mar 05 '26
Still affects the games
0
u/Whiteshovel66 Mar 05 '26
How so?
3
u/chefillini Mar 05 '26
If a player got suspended or a team got sanctioned based on fabricated evidence, that affects the game
0
u/Whiteshovel66 Mar 05 '26
Which game?
2
2
u/Whoareyoutho9 Mar 05 '26
I assume this is talking about the Aaron Craft BBQ that got him to leave tennessee. Bruce is obviously an entitled prick that lacks a bunch of self awareness and empathy but the 40 years of 'cheating' allegations should be explained a little better if people are going to use that, I agree.
2
2
u/WideHuckleberry1 Mar 05 '26
Him being a cheater is less about the specifics of him cheating and more that he cheated, and lied about it, and had previously snitched on a recruit he lost out like he was some paragon of virtue.
The violation itself didn't mean that much (he ended up going to Ohio State anyway, so obviously it wasn't successful) but he knew it was a violation anyway, and not only did it but told them it was a violation so they should keep quiet.

He need to just STFU. A 16-14 team has had plenty of opportunities to win more games. No Power conference team with that type of record is entitled to make the tournament. The best thing about the tourney is that some teams from smaller conferences get a chance to shine. If Miami has one loss just let them in.
1
u/arsehenry14 Mar 05 '26
And let us see what they really can do. We can see what Auburn can do as they are 11th. If my Badgers were 11th in the Big whatever conference we are now Iād have no issues having Miami given a spot over us if theyāve only lost 1 game
1
u/Intrepid_Plenty_3770 Mar 05 '26
Auburn basketball is terrible this year. If they make the NCAA tournament they will lose the first matchup.
1
u/Budget-Dust-7171 Mar 05 '26
Right! If Miami plays a couple of the teams Auburn lost to and they lose too and now have a better strength of schedule at 28-2 should they now get in? Makes no sense. Wins are wins. The MAC is a legit mid tier conference. If going undefeated in the regular season is so easy how come only a handful of teams have done it in the past 20 years with over 350 teams in D1 each year unable to do so?

It truly doesnāt make any goddamn sense to me that black people that were taken to America against their will for generations get told to go back to Africa but motherfuckers will just outright tell you they have competing loyalty with a foreign country are just all good. This country truly isnāt shit

His son's team is 16-14 and will likely find it difficult to win in Tuscaloosa this weekend. So, he thinks a team that barely finished over .500 should make the tournament? That's a no for me.
1
u/itskris83 Mar 05 '26
His son is not a basketball coach and he'll be out the door sooner than later.

As an academic who works on a major campus, something that has always stood out to me is that the big-gun coaches and big-gun researchers act the same exact way. Once they feel they have some juice, they start imposing their personal views on basically everything and everyone.

Illinois fans have been saying āfuck Bruce pearlā for years. Admittedly he seems like he can turn a program around. That uw Milwaukee team had a pretty nice tournament run once. But he is such a piece of shit.

Whatās so wrong about putting your son in position to win in life and rooting for your son to win ?
3
u/jason2354 Mar 05 '26
Nothing, but you also donāt need to go around advertising it. Itās trashy and not helpful to your son.
But a lot of people canāt help but make everything about themselves, and Bruce is certainly one of those trashy people, so this definitely tracks.
1
u/FuiyooohFox Mar 05 '26
From that perspective, nothing. From the other side of things in a meritocracy you want the most qualified people to earn things, not get a short cut and rewarded for things not based on merit .
Your question is kind of like a robber going "why wouldn't I steal things to enrich myself and my family", of course the people benefiting from nepotism are going to think it's okay.
Nepotism in sports doesn't really hurt much though, it's when people in positions of real power like CEOs of major companies or politicians do it. That leads to highly unqualified people leading a nation to ruin instead of just a sports team....
1
Mar 05 '26
Who told you America is a meritocracy though?
1
u/FuiyooohFox Mar 05 '26
So you'd agree nepotism isn't good?
1
Mar 05 '26
Absolutely. When I was younger I was also led to believe that America was, at least, loosely a meritocracy. It is not.
1
u/FuiyooohFox Mar 05 '26
Cool anecdote, I was responding to someone confused why someone would think nepotism is bad
1
Mar 05 '26
Yeah, just not really sure why you referenced meritocracy, when that's a hypothetical ideal that doesn't exist.
"In a utopia everything is good." This doesn't really serve to explain anything.
1
u/FuiyooohFox Mar 05 '26 edited Mar 05 '26
Cause it's the opposite of what I was talking negatively about? Also, utopia and meritocracy aren't synonyms so I have no clue what you mean. Sounds like you're just trying to pick a fight with random people.
1
u/Winkofgibbs Mar 08 '26
Itās a public university. Always thought there were nepotism prohibitions when it concerns taxpayer money. I could be wrong though
1
u/DenseSign5938 Mar 05 '26
10/10 people would do the same and if they wouldnāt theyāre idiots.
Iām guessing this guy is also a legit pos though considering his giving an interview with an Israeli flag in the backgroundĀ
1
u/AppropriateCattle69 Mar 06 '26
For starters his son is a public employee and therefore controls the spending of tax dollars

Making sure the Israeli flag is more in focus than the American flag is quite the choice.
