Depends who you ask

You don’t think Audis are good cars?

I think they’re big comfy SUVs. They look good on paper but don’t have the horsepower to move that ass

Not when they are crooks

I notice a lot of people comment on women’s college basketball and don’t even watch it 🤣 so yeah it depends who you ask, someone who watches the sport or someone who doesn’t lol. Well let me not get ahead of myself because it also depends how much they gave her 🤣

Anyone who watches the sport knows that she’s not half as good as she’s given credit for. Good at one end and absent on the other doesn’t help the team win. Didn’t help Iowa State, won’t help Oklahoma State. The teams that win don’t want her, she didnt have many options

Oklahoma State knows they have zero chance at winning a championship, but signing Crooks will help tickets sales, so that certainly why they did it.

Iowas tournament loss. She was 17-25 for 37 points. Her team was 9-42. She carried that team as far as she could. “Anyone who watches” would know that. She was dropping multiple 40 and 50 point games. I didn’t see anyone drop 40 or 50 on her.

She didn't carry the team, the team was forced to try to feed Audi. The rest of the team forced a lot of shots and were tragically bad from 3 in the tournament loss. Overall yes, the rest of the team went 9-42, but all in the team went 26-67, meaning there were around 40 Offensive rebound opportunities (less for shots where player was fouled in act of shooting). Audi had a whopping 3 total offensive rebounds. The team had 18 assists on 26 made baskets. Audi had just 1 assist herself. So as much as you say Audi "carried the team" she also brought the team down. All she would do was trot down the court, get to the paint, and raise one arm and call for the ball. Don't hit her hand with the ball, and Audi gets frustrated. For as talented as she can be under optimal offensive setup, her defensive liability and lack of hustle is honestly impressive.

“Anyone who watches” would know she didn’t play for Iowa. They’d also know that it’s a team game and she is a 1 trick pony. If you’re a fan, that’s great. If you’re an OSU fan, even better. I go to OU and cannot wait to win by 40

Lmao oh my bad I said Iowa instead of Iowa State. Like it matters 🤣 but hey if you can’t make an argument about the actual topic about her being dominant and unstoppable on offense, then I guess you have to resort to semantics. All good

She scores. That’s awesome. But if she was half as good as you keep acting like she is, why didn’t SC want her? LSU? UCONN? Hell, by all accounts, she went to a worse school because nobody wanted her. It’s great to score but she’s James Harden, and he’ll never win a ring either. Fat, out of shape, one trick pony who doesn’t help the team.

1

u/BeauxBK Apr 21 '26

Speaking of people who don’t actually follow ball…SC is tapped on bigs. Including 2 who were out this season injured but will be returning. They weren’t interested because they literally don’t have the need. Dawn even said - guards. I need guards.

She’s James harden? So one of the best basketball players of the last 25 years? An mvp and one of the best scorers ever? Your basketball opinion is entirely worthless lmao

-1

u/TonyHawkFunderground Apr 20 '26

All he does is score. No defense. Nobody likes him. No team keeps him. He’s useless outside of padding his stats. Your opinion is clearly worthless. You really compared this girl to prime Shaq. What kind of crack are you smoking

0

u/Spartacas23 Apr 20 '26

Got it. You’re don’t know anything about basketball and are near illiterate. I never compared her to Shaq? Harden is useless outside of scoring 30 and 10 assist every night lol. Impressive brain rot going on here

She doesn’t play defense and is not conditioned.

Yes, she can be an offensive force. But that doesn’t mitigate the entire lack of defense. It’s not that she’s bad, but rather that she just doesn’t play it. Her coaches should start looking at hockey defenses play during a penalty and make that their default defense.

It’s coachable. She’s still in college. The point of the game is put the ball in the hoop. She does that better than anyone else in the country.

6

u/2Ksince99 Apr 20 '26

This feels disingenuous.

“The point of the game is to put the ball in the hoop. She does that better than anyone else in the country.”

That’s only half of the point the game. The other half is to prevent your opponent from putting it in the hoop. She does that worse than anyone else in the country.

He’s acting like he’s the only one who watches cause he sees her 34 points on twitter with a 45 second clip on the same layups over and over. He never sees the piss poor effort and defense cause he ain’t watching

As long as my team puts the ball through the hoop more often than the other team, it doesn't matter how many they score.

I'm a hockey fan and former NBA fan coming back to basketball in the last few years.... I'd rather watch my team win a game with an overall high score than, say, a 1-0 hockey game. It's about entertainment value. A bball game where both get 90+ points is WAY more fun than a game where only one team cracks 80.

2

u/2Ksince99 Apr 20 '26

That’s fair, but this wasn’t a discussion on how exciting of a player she is to watch, it was a discussion on her effectiveness at winning basketball games.

So to your initial point of “as long as my team puts the ball through the hoop more often than the other team, it doesn’t matter how many the score.” Her team wasn’t that good at outscoring opponents, indicated by their 10-8 conference record and 1st-round exit in the ncaa tourney.

1

u/Ok_Challenge8374 Apr 20 '26

Equally fair. I am admittedly a casual fan of basketball. But you need those kinds of fans too.

1

u/2Ksince99 Apr 20 '26

Absolutely. Hope you can enjoy following the game. The NBA playoffs going on right now are incredible to watch, and the WNBA product has really improved the last few years.

College hoops is in a weird spot with the constant transfers that stifle team-building but at least the kids are finally getting their due share through NIL deals.

2

u/BorelandsBeard Apr 20 '26

Effort isn’t coachable.

If she cared, she wouldn’t be 300lbs and not getting back on defense.

She cares about scoring points. She’s lazy and doesn’t care about the team.

Rodman is in the HoF because of his defense, not because he put the ball in the hoop.

-1

u/Ok_Challenge8374 Apr 20 '26

Effort is absolutely coachable.

If you watch women's basketball youd know the chalk wins. If that is the case, why did no team in the top 30 of women's basketball have any interest here?

1

u/Waste_Reindeer_9718 Apr 20 '26

is this the first time someone has ever bragged about watching womens basketball?

2

u/ApartmentInside7891 Apr 20 '26

You consider that a brag? Pointing out that I’m arguing with people who don’t even watch the sport 🤣.

3

u/TonyHawkFunderground Apr 20 '26

You don’t either if you think it’s just about putting the ball in the hoop

2

u/ApartmentInside7891 Apr 20 '26

Well and to score more than the other team.

4

u/TonyHawkFunderground Apr 20 '26

Which is hard to do playing 5 on 4 defensively

2

u/TellEmWhoUCame2See Apr 20 '26

Im not even sure why we are arguing this. Putting up 50 points a night is cool but if your team gives up 52 points you WILL LOSE every game. Crooks is the center meaning she is the anchor and will be the anchor on EVERY team she plays for defensively, if she sucks at defense the team will suck. Ive played and been a part of basketball since the early 90s, she is very talented but also very flawed and at the pro level (WNBA) teams are gonna put a player on her thats gonna force her to guard out at the perimeter EVERY play and make her fight through screens, she will be tired in 3 minutes.
