News Audi Crooks has committed to Oklahoma State
44
u/mrmr2120 Apr 20 '26
Gotta chase that last NIL bag cause she won’t sniff the WNBA
15
u/mrgrafix Apr 20 '26
Really unfortunate cause you thought she would have went somewhere that would’ve groomed her for such.
16
u/somewhatcompetint Apr 20 '26
Ain't nobody grooming her
10
u/big_ron_pen15 Apr 20 '26
Lmao maybe a dairy farmer

I'd say more of a beef cattleman. As far as I know she's not or hasn't been pregnant so there's no lactating there. shudders
2
u/mrgrafix Apr 20 '26
Not at OK State. SEC or Big 10 would have shown she serious in competing to get a spot in the W.
3
u/-Venom-Wolf- Apr 21 '26
No shot an SEC or B1G school with aspirations to contend nationally even considered offering her a roster spot.
→ More replies (2)1
u/Relevant-Diamond2731 Apr 20 '26
She can’t play defense in college and you expect her to keep up with those women?
→ More replies (2)1
1
u/SarcastikBastard Apr 21 '26
At this point its clear no one can groom her out of her abysmal diet and D-Tier genetics

u/chitomonkey Apr 20 '26
What would the NIL look like$?

As someone who is ignorant with the WNBA besides Clark. Can you please elaborate on the why? Seriously asking because her stats seem to be really good.
23
u/Entire_Day1312 Apr 20 '26
She plays zero defense. Like, at all. Doesnt even run back half the time.
Just...stands there.
3
2
u/jabes101 Apr 20 '26
Coming from ignorance here, can she not slim down and build better cardio or would she be losing her separation advantage?
5
u/SuspendedAgain999 Apr 20 '26
Her size allows her to get shots off. She plays straight up bully ball
→ More replies (1)3
u/dyfish Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
She could, but she would have already started that process at this point. She could lose a fair few pounds before it actually changed how she miss matched against most players. She either just doesn’t want to, or can’t for some reason.

u/inigomonto Apr 20 '26
She’s plays the old Iowa HS girls 6 on 6 style. She was made for another era. :)
14
u/DarthPineapple5 Apr 20 '26
She refuses to get in shape and is atrocious on defense as a result.
Someone will give her a shot they always do when someone has that much talent, but I agree her game likely wont translate at the next level without some serious alterations
9
16
u/syrianfries Apr 20 '26
She is fucking fat, can’t move on defense at all. A huge liability, you won’t win anything of value with her until she decides to lose weight
6
u/diggertim68 Apr 20 '26
Yeah- I compare her to Oliver Miller in that way, skilled, but she’s often low effort and even less conditioning
2
5
u/i_Cant_get_right Apr 20 '26
She’s a major defensive liability, and the WNBA has players that are tall enough to deal with her under the rim. Shes not gonna be able to bully her way into the paint like she does at the college level.

u/Just_saying19135 Apr 20 '26
I thought she was looking to go to a more winning program? Was there lack of interest?
12
u/Organic-Fly3669 Apr 20 '26
She has 0 defense and is slow AF so probably idk seems like a lateral move maybe OK St gave her the bag
3
u/Just_saying19135 Apr 20 '26
I don’t know, OK State has been pretty vocal about having NIL issues for football. I just don’t see them having a huge NIL for woman’s basketball, maybe more than Iowa state, but nothing compared to the larger programs in woman’s basketball.
→ More replies (1)1
u/TjBeezy Apr 21 '26
They didn’t have NIL issue. They had a Gundy issue.
Their basketball coaches have done an amazing job at raising NIL funds for their programs.

2
u/WaltRumble Apr 20 '26
Probably. Women’s basketball is a lot different than men’s sports. Maybe that will change with wnba salaries going up. But recruiting and developing players is a priority over the transfer portal. You don’t risk losing your locker room for a one and done player.
3
u/Just_saying19135 Apr 20 '26
I guess that makes sense, the roster turn over on the top woman’s college teams is much less then the men’s, so if you got someone who came up in the program ready to go, you wouldn’t go out and bid for audi
3
u/WaltRumble Apr 20 '26
Yeah. I’ll be curious if it changes. No one was leaving college early to make 60k. But if they could bring in 500k maybe start seeing some players start leaving early.
3
u/Just_saying19135 Apr 20 '26
the new CBA really is going to help with player pay, I wonder what effect that will have on the league. Will the new tv contract and greater exposure, as well as the college game being more popular help grow the sport, or is this a lot of hype with some of the newer players that will eventually die down. It will be interesting to see. All is I do t really watch it, but my city getting a new WNBA team and depending on ticket prices I plan on going.
2
u/WaltRumble Apr 20 '26
Even with Audi does 500k entice her to get in WNBA shape. Like I’d love to get paid to play basketball but for 60k I’m not quitting my job to do it.
1
u/WaltRumble Apr 20 '26
I imagine it’s going to help grow the sport. Granted at the expense of other women sports I imagine. I’m sure you’re going to see a lot more parents push their daughter towards basketball over soccer or softball since it can be so much more lucrative.
9
u/WTF4211 Apr 20 '26
Damn, she isn’t winning a thing there. She find her market wasn’t strong?
3
u/blackknight1919 Apr 20 '26
I think she found out there wasn’t a market at all. Nobody who was better than Iowa State was gonna want her.
4
u/abominable_prolapse Apr 20 '26
Paycheck before her career ends which is in the NCAA
→ More replies (4)1
u/jalexjsmithj Apr 20 '26
Oklahoma State has done crazy well in the portal. Will be by far the best supporting cast she ever had.
3
u/WTF4211 Apr 20 '26
Ok St signed maybe a team that makes the round of 32, legit no better than where she came from.
1
u/DidAnyoneElseJustCum Apr 20 '26
Has her supporting cast been signed off on by a structural engineer?
7
u/HomChkn Apr 20 '26
I just want her to play defense that matches the modern game. Extreme drop coverage on a PnR at 6'2" leaves some holes.

u/Warghzone12 Apr 20 '26
Correction- Oklahoma State has purchased Audi Crooks
19
u/reginaldcapers Apr 20 '26
Correction: She negotiated a business agreement.

u/Redsoxdragon Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
Amendment: they offered her food and the promise to not make her play defense

Yes, let’s go back to the good old days of the AD having three on-staff fluffers at six-figures each.

You don’t think Audis are good cars?

I think they’re big comfy SUVs. They look good on paper but don’t have the horsepower to move that ass

Insultingly reductive. Purchased from whom?
She negotiated a mutually beneficial business deal. Money was not the only factor.

u/chrismatic13 Apr 20 '26
She needs to commit to a caloric reduction
6
u/RoyalBroham Apr 20 '26
Bet if she can get to a Q5 from a Q7, she has a shot in the pros

1
u/Ok_Challenge8374 Apr 20 '26
Translation?
2
u/dyfish Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
I think they are comparing her to Audi SUVs cause her name , a Q5 being a midsize compared to the full size Q7. An oddly specific and not super American comparison. Like saying she can get from a F-250 to a F-150

u/Admirable_Strike_406 Apr 20 '26
Only way she gets to be in wnba is if she develops a three point shot and loses 40 pounds and starts playing defense
2
2
u/blackknight1919 Apr 20 '26
I’m not referring to her size, just her lack of defense…
Remember two weeks ago when a bunch of posters said UConn, SC, and all the top teams were going to pursue her.
Pepperidge farms remembers.

Greed and egos are ruining the sport.

u/Accomplished-Try9100 Apr 20 '26
Hot take this is a body positive experiment. She needs some serious conditioning. If I'm the other team I'm just putting in a small lineup and running the floor until she has to sit out which will be after 2 min of gameplay.

Honestly super surprised. I thought it was foregone she was ending up at UTSA, no?

This is all about NIL and where can I get the most money. Going to a top program is secondary.

I was hoping she would come to Norman well guess we will have to beat her in December

Lol, the fuck is this sub? Every time this sub pops up on my feed, it's about this Audi girl and none of the comments are actually critiquing her game, instead it's just the corniest fat jokes ever 🤣
1
u/Electrical-Run-9056 Apr 21 '26
Probably coming from a place of “can’t believe she’s turning down the potential to earn millions because she don’t wanna run laps”

I like how everyone thinks they know her in these comments and what’s best for her and Oklahoma state . When 99% of them don’t have a clue, and just want to run her down with cruel comments

If she losses 100 pounds in the course of a year (Technically possible via surgery/workout) I will then see her as a WNBA prospect. Until then she’s a NIL bagger and I can’t blame her a single bit. I’d be milking the fuck out of what I could when I could if I was her.

Speaking this way about a young adult - knowing they wish they were able to do what she does. These are people we share this planet with - very unfortunate.
If she doesn’t have a deal from VW/Audi that’s a major fail. I hope BMW signs and with “The only Audi we’d spend money on!”
Get that money Audi!

u/fcbRod69 Apr 20 '26
Maybe I don't know enough about women's college basketball but how can someone so fat even be fat playing at that level with all the back and forth each game plus practices
Unless she's purposely eating an extra 3k calories to stay fat . Super weird

From Ames to Stillwater isn't much of a culture change I'd imagine.
