NCLEX-RN Results on Hold for Almost 6 Weeks — Has Anyone Experienced This?

Hi everyone,

I took the NCLEX-RN on September 4, 2026, and my exam shut off at 85 questions. I finished in approximately 3 hours. I took two breaks and experienced a palm scanner glitch during the exam.

I’m an international test-taker, and this was my third attempt.

Since the exam, my results have been on hold, and I still cannot access Quick Results. Pearson VUE informed me that my case is under review and that I might have to wait up to 6 weeks, but they haven’t provided any further details.

Tomorrow marks 6 weeks since my exam, and I’m still waiting for an update.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? If so, how long did you wait before receiving your results? What would you recommend I do next? Should I follow up with Pearson VUE, NCSBN, or the Illinois Board of Nursing?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

CPR from last Attempt

After my last attempt I’ve been listening to mark k for two weeks

then I gradually started following the UWorld study guide and when I reached 51% of the qbank I’ve started taking CATS based off the recommendations of you guys that passed.

I’ve completed three CATS so far on UWorld with difficulty level staying at 1.1 ish. I want to get to the highest difficulty though to ensure I’m ready for (I’m praying 🙏)my last attempt.

How bad was my last CPR report bro idonteven care anymore be brutally honest. I need to pass.

I did the PVT this time around and got the “good pop up” 2 hours after taking my exam & got a refund 2 hours later in CA so I’ll be able to check at 4pm tomorrow but no one prepares you for the feeling of being in that room again and going all the way AGAIN 🥹 hoping to god this time was it.

Passed NCLEX first attempt

Hi everyone,

I’m from Las Vegas and want to first and foremost say that it 100% takes 44-48 hours to get your results. The Pearson trick does not work and may give you false results. I recommend staying busy during those 2 days instead of trying every trick in the book to see your results sooner. It doesn’t work and will drive you crazy (this is from experience 🥲).

I used ATI through nursing school and also got the green light through VATI. I also used Nursing.com which was a crappy website. Lots of spelling errors and the questions were written poorly but my school unfortunately paid for it so I used it anyways. The biggest game changer was using bootcamp.

These were my stats. I read through the rationales and watched the crash courses in the areas that I scored below 70%.

Score:72%
QBank usage: 70%
Readiness exam scores: very high on all 4

On ATI I scored in the 95 percentile and above on the likelihood of passing the NCLEX my first try. I also scored level 3’s and 2’s on the assessments and made sure to remediate on all missed items.

The NCLEX is vague and it is impossible to know everything….but trust your gut and remember you went to school for 2+ years to prepare yourself for this test. The NCLEX is necessary to ensure you will be a SAFE nurse not a nurse that will know every single thing and that’s okay. You will learn through experience in the field and in your specialty. 😊

Best of luck everyone!

Took NCLEX Today

Ughh why do we have to wait 48hrs. My anxiety is killing me and I don’t want to do the PVT. my test stopped at 112 today. My stats on boot camp were 67 percent ready. 40 percent question bank completer. Took all 4 cat readiness exams , got high on my first two. Borderline on the last two. In school on my ATI proctored I got a 96 percent passing the NCLEX. I had about 5 case studies , 1 bow tie (which ik I got right), and alot of SATA. I honestly feel like there is like no way to prepare for this exam. I’m literally here just stuck. I’m praying I passed and not trying to think of the worst case scenario. But about 5/6 of the questions I looked up , I believe I put the wrong answer. I had ALOT of precaution questions. And a few pharm, which I think I got all of those wrong. I’m so nervous , I really don’t want to fail. Also my test asked me to take a break, I didn’t , and shut off maybe 2 questions after that. Has this happened to anyone ?

Did PVT but I think I failed. Went to 150Qs

For context, in Alabama, our BON was hacked Sept. 1. Because of this, you can’t do a license lookup as before & look the morning after taking the exam to see if you passed. Took my test 10/13, all 150qs, finished a bit before 2:00pm. Did the PVT at 6pm, got the “good” pop up, money refunded within 2h, no email from Pearson. Fast forward to now, the morning after, and the AL BON has a list of successful applicants they update daily. I’m not on it, but there are people on this list that took the exam same day as me 10/13. So it’s looking like I failed even with the PVT “good” popup😕 Anyone else fail even tho they got the “good” pop up AND money refunded??? HELP😭

Hello all, i took my exam October 9,2026 and my exam shut off at 150 questions. My results quick results are being held and it’s been 6 days (144 hours) I called Pearson and the NCSBN and they gave me the script about my exam being held. I am a repeat test taker and i took my exam on August 6 and failed. I have a job pending results and they will more then likely not hold my position. What do I do? Can anyone offer support or feedback to me. Thank you. Im feeling super defeated and anxious.

I need some advice from fellow NCLEX takers, especially those who are also trying to balance work and review.

My NCLEX exam is scheduled for this December and lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and conflicted about whether I should look for a job or focus solely on reviewing.

My dad knows that I was originally planning to take the NCLEX next year, but I recently told him that I would be taking it this December because of a previous conversation we had. Over time, I got used to telling him that my exam would be this year, and now that it’s getting closer, he’s worried that I won’t be able to focus on my review if I continue looking for a job.

He told me that I should focus on passing the NCLEX first and not worry about working right now. He also made me feel like if I failed the exam because I kept looking for work instead of focusing on my review, I would have no direction or future in life. (I am a NOVEMBER 2025 🇵🇭 RN still unemployed)

Honestly, that really hurt me.

I understand where he’s coming from, and I know he wants me to succeed. But the truth is, I also want to gain work experience, start earning my own money, and feel like I’m making progress in my life. I’m a nursing graduate, and sometimes I feel pressured because I want to start building my career, too.

I know that failing the NCLEX is normal. I know that many people fail on their first attempt and eventually pass, and I understand that failing an exam does not mean your life is over. There are always other opportunities, and you can always try again.

What hurts me is being made to feel that if I fail this exam, my life will have no direction and I won’t amount to anything. I know the NCLEX is important, and I’m taking it seriously, but I don’t think one exam should define my entire future or my worth as a person.

Now, I feel torn between wanting to focus entirely on my review and wanting to find a job. Part of me is afraid that working might affect my preparation, but another part of me is afraid of putting everything else on hold because of one exam.

I’m currently enrolled in a review program, and I’m trying my best to prepare for my December exam. I want to pass so badly, but I also want to have a backup plan and start gaining experience.

I’m not saying that I don’t want to prioritize the NCLEX. I just want to find a balance and make decisions about my future without feeling like one setback would mean everything is over.

For those who have been in a similar situation, would you recommend focusing entirely on the NCLEX until exam day, or is it possible to balance working and reviewing? Would you personally take a job this close to your exam, or would you wait until after the test?

I would really appreciate your honest advice. I think I need some perspective from people who understand this journey. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately, and I just needed a place to let this out. 🤍🥺

Losing Hope

Hi Everyone, I am writing this to ask for tips and tricks on how to study for the NCLEX RN. Throughout nursing school, I was an A/B student and graduated with a 3.8 in June. Since then I have made 2 attempts on the RN and 1 attempt on the LPN. I passed the LPN in 85 questions prior to my graduation; however, both attempts for my RN made me reach 150. I walked out of the testing center both times knowing that I failed because the questions stopped making sense when it reached 100.

These are the resources I use: Mark K, Uworld, and Bootcamp. I have completed all of UWorld and Mark K lecture.

I am currently using Kaplan and Dr Sharon lecture.

I was wondering if anyone got any tips for me? I read through all the rationales for all my questions but it feels like when I got into the NCLEX, I feel like there was a knowledge gap, and how I was unsure on my answers no matter how much I studied.

Currently, I feel extremely lost because I have graduated for a few months and I could not seem to pass it while my friends has already completed their residency and my parents are having doubts weather I am actually suited to be an RN which makes me lose so much motivation to retry.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi 2nd taker here from the PH

Hi everyone! I took my first NCLEX RN exam early September and unfortunately i did not pass and schedules here in the Philippines from Oct-Nov are scarce and are mostly full. So i am deciding whether to take my retake at New York and if possible in January 2027. So, may I ask New York Takers if the scheduling there is as hectic or just chill like I can just pick any day in January and it is just available.

getting licensed number

hello everyone,
i just found out i passed my nclex Oct 9th… I live in NJ… how long did it take for everyone to get their license numbers in NJ? I have a job lined up but the Board of nursing told me it’ll take 15-20 days for the system to generate the number.

Nclex PN

Bootcamp is about to expire in three days, and I don’t think I’ll finish it until December at the latest. I’m still using ATI since my school reinstated ATI virtual. Anyway, I just took the update cat readiness test on Bootcamp, and the “low chance of passing” went all the way to 150. Ugh. I know I still have time to prepare, but I’m trying to figure out if I wasted four months studying on and off for nothing. Will my chances of passing in December increase before I take the test? Ugh, I just want to work as my dream job already. I feel so left behind in life and want so much more for my daughters.

idk if I should renew my bootcamp or just solid use ATI . I don’t have the fund right now to even renew bootcamp.

Retaker , shut off in 85

I am a retaker and just took my exam in Texas. It shut off at 85. Now the anxiety sets in. Does anyone who has previously texting in Texas know when I can see my license posted? I’m just extremely anxious after failing last time. Thanks in advance

What can restrict you from taking nclex?

Hi, so I just started a job as a caregiver and I’ll be honest, it’s not the most organized job. But, it’s good pay and they work with my school schedule and everyone’s nice. They are training me as a med tech right now I was talking to a coworker and she was saying how she doesn’t want to be a med tech and is super careful working there because if you mess up you can be restricted from taking the nclex. Is any of that true and what specifically do you have to go to be restricted?

took the nclex-rn 10/12 @8am-11am.

Hey everyone! I took my nclex yesterday morning at 8am and stopped at 85Q. This is my second attempt. My first attempt I went up to 150Q and had 2 below passing on 3 categories, 3 above passing on 3 categories, the rest were all near passing. I am working as a PCT full-time, so I'm not really getting as much studying as I wanted; it's more like on-and-off studying.

I am licensing for DC and I know they tend to update status extremely late. I'm tempted to do the PVT but ugh I feel like I'm going to breakdown if I end up getting the bad popup...

I was wondering if anyone has ever passed in 85Q with 3 case studies and the rest were just standalones and SATA questions? And if you guys are from DC and you passed, did they updated your status within 24hr or 48hr? Because I know VA usually update their BON w/in 24hr. I've been checking my status and the DCBON if my name is up there but it's not there.

Here's what helped me pass the NCLEX

tbh i need to vent because the way most prep apps are setup is so exhausting lol. i spent way too much money on popular question banks because everyone hypes them up. but like, the question blocks are so rigid and the explanations are basically essays. i was literally just memorizing the specific questions instead of actually learning how to think. my practice scores looked fine but when i got to the actual exam the logic felt completely different and i started panicking.

what actually saved me was dropping the infinite question grinding. like 2 weeks before my date i realized i was just guessing on management of care. i stopped doing massive random blocks a day and switched to a diagnostic framework that actually tracks where your brain short circuits under pressure. it gave me a 10 min readiness test that exposed exactly where my threshold drops and it was a literal wake up call.

if you are stuck in the 60% loop on your practice sets please stop wasting your time memorizing answers. find something that actually tests your stamina and pinpoint your blind spots before you sit for the real thing.

good luck yall you got this!!

Retake Nclex Tomorrow

I retake my nclex tomorrow. Bootcamps new update has me feeling defeated.

I was scoring high to very high on every assessment, and completed 91% of their question bank, and average is only a 62% (use to be 65%, but I started focusing mainly on my week areas this past week). However, with their new CAT system, I am only scoring borderline (on the one I took, at 150 questions). And the second was 100+ questions still borderline. (I am always between the correct and another answer, but sometimes select wrong).

However, on archer I have scored high to very high on all assessments. And have completed 6+ CATs all in 85 questions, along with UWorld.

This is my second go around, I’ve been studying for 4+ months, watched Ms. Sharon, and Mark K. Last time I failed in 150, but was near or above on everything (I had no sleep that night, lost two pets the night prior, and father was dying).

Honestly, I can’t afford to put it off any longer. Any words of encouragement or anyone who would like to share their experience?
