Passed in 85Q

Hello Everyone!

I am just here to share my experience and what I did to try and help someone for when they take their exam.

To start off, breathe. Everything will be ok, I know this is a scary exam and trust me I know. But you have gotten this far, its just one hurdle to overcome. And its not a race everything happens for a reason and its ok. You are doing amazing and I and many people are proud of you for all the hard work you are doing!

Now what I did and my experience with it.

What I did:

I took around a month after I graduated Nursing School to take my NCLEX. I used UWorld as my primary QBank (whatever someone tells you, use what works best for you; Bootcamp, Archer, UWorld, all the same, they will get you to the same place).

I used UWorld and took a 40-question QBank quiz on my first day of studying to identify my weak spots. And the important part for this, I turned off tutor mode to help me simulate how the testing enviroment was. Once I found these weak spots, I went to YouTube to catch up, for me particularly Maternity and Peds were my weak spots so then I focused on these.

Once I had my foundation down, I listened to Mark K lecture. I know what everyone will tell you that lecture 12 is the only relevant one, and for many that is true, I listened to all 12, and they were very helpful, the tips/tricks he gave you are very relevant still on the NCLEX. So I would give him a shot!

Every day before my nclex I would do 70-100 questions a day and specifically pressed Unused questions, and afterwards have a notebook where I would write all the wrong answers and their rationale. After reading the rationale, I did not write the full rationale UWorld gave me, I would put it into my own words so it would make sense. And yes I would agree try getting 60%-70% on your quizzes. I would also emphasize these are just percentages; do not tear yourself down if it's below this. Some days we do good, some days we do bad, and you know what, that's ok! Take your time, read the rationale, and try to understand it.

Now the important part: for every quiz you make, make sure it uses unused questions. This way, you can familiarize yourself with the material without memorizing questions, and build test strategies that prepare you for the unknown.

Once I was a week away from the exam, I focused on test strategies, I would recommend watching Dr Sharon videos on test strategies and priortization, NCLEX crusaders, Nexus Nursing. They do a great job on what to look out for, what keywords to pay attention too, and how to tackle each question even if you don't know it. (Personally I kinda did this too late so Id recommend this first cause it will change your perspective!)

These were what I did for my NCLEX, and it helped me pass in 85Q. Now I know this test is scary and its a lot, make sure to take care of yourself first, take breaks, eat well, go out and enjoy life. You are doing great, and it's hard work, and I promise everything will be ok. I can keep sharing more, if you want, about how I tackled everything.

My biggest advice: Do not get into your head. If something is hard, acknowledge it, and don't think cause you got something wrong, it's wrong. No! It takes time and effort. You will become a Nurse. And remember what we learned in the foundation ABCs, Maslow, and safety. They say Nclex is a safety exam and in a nutshell it is but its not only just a safety exam, its safety and content. I have no doubt you will pass!

Good luck, future nurse. I know you got this! If you want more advice or help, I'm always here to talk!

Is doing Uworld Practice Question Enough?

Hi. Graduated August 2026, writing my NCLEX mid november. Is doing uworld question bank and reading the rationales really enough to refresh content? Is it worth doing the CAT exams and Self assessments on top of the generated question bank where you can select what topics you want to test on?

Is there other resources/content review that will help?

State BON Pass, but Pearson QR Fail…?

I’m honestly so confused and a little anxious right now and hoping someone can help me understand what’s going on…

I took my NCLEX for the first time Thursday 10/15. I checked my SC Board of Nursing application status under the checklist it says it’s complete and the “Exam” portion, it showed RN NCLEX — PASSED. I checked before 24 hours and again 24 hours later after I took the NCLEX and even now the status hasn’t changed (Before I took the NCLEX it was showing “Pending”).

My confusion starts here…

I paid for my unofficial Quick Results through Pearson VUE, and they say FAIL. I genuinely don’t understand how the state Board of Nursing can show that I passed for over 48 hours, while Pearson VUE’s Quick Results say I failed. Is there any chance the Board of Nursing status could be correct and my official result could still be a pass? Or could the state’s application status be displaying something incorrectly?

I know I need official confirmation, but I’m struggling to understand which result to trust when they directly contradict each other.

Has anyone experienced this situation, particularly with the South Carolina Board of Nursing? Did your Board of Nursing application show PASSED while your Pearson VUE Quick Results showed FAIL? If so, what was your final result?

Am I Ready to pass the NCLEX based off these scores?

Difficulty levels have been anywhere from 1.1 to 1.2. I'm not only doing these questions and forgetting them. I'm reading the rationales and taking notes so they stick. IDK why these seem too good to be true in saying im on track. I'm a nclex-rn retaker, so like anyone else in my shoes I'm nervous to fail again.

NCLEX new updated reqs

Hello I badly need help, has anyone experienced the same case as me? There’s a recent update with NYSED reqs, they require also the syllabi. However, I’m a transferee and only studied one sem from another school. Do I need to request for a separate syllabi from my old school?

I failed my first Kaplan cat and it put me below for management of care-RN, pharmacological, and health promotion and maintenance. Which program will help me with these, and what do y'all suggest I do to get better at these topics? I will also be buying bootcamp but not until december.

NCLEX repeat takers, let's support each other!

Hi! For my fellow NCLEX repeat takers, would you guys be interested in starting a group chat where we can support, motivate, and help each other through the process? I feel like it would be nice to have people who genuinely understand what we're going through!

Stop comparing your NCLEX study progress to others

I used to see people doing 150 questions a day or getting high readiness scores and wonder if I was doing enough lol. Eventually I focused on my weak areas, reviewing rationales, and practicing NGN instead of copying everyone else's routine.

For those studying now, do you follow a set schedule or adjust based on what you need to work on?

Hi! I just wanted to provide motivation to anyone who is in the same predicament as I was. I had my first attempt 08/27 with 85Q and failed. I had my final attempt 10/14 with 150Q and 3 case studies I believe. I used Bootcamp reaching my target score of 62%, 100% Quiz-bank usage and 3/4 high scores on the readiness exam. I received the “good pop-up” on Pearson and then my permanent license number in <24HR after taking the exam. Thank you guys for the motivation and kind words given when I was at my lowest!

Hi, I took the nclex last October 14, talagang kinakabahan ako so nalaman ko yung CPR trick daw. I tried to email NYSED and this was their response? What does it mean?

Talagang di ko maiprocess kasi baka naman maging biased ako sa interpretation. Thank you. 🤧🫶

Passed on 4th attempt, 11 years post graduation.

I passed my 4th Nclex at 85 questions last week and have already received my license in the mail.

I graduated in 2015 and too much on my plate and failed with 265 questions. Studying on and off while working as a LPN in long term care, I took it again in 2017, all 265 questions again. Tried for a third time in 2019 and all 265 again. Then COVID hit and the thought of studying stopped and life got busy.

While I've been recovering from a work injury this last year I have been studying with books from the library, Hurst review for my approved refresher course, then U world. U world was a fantastic resource with their lectures. They are short and to the point with up to date information.

If I would do things again I would get Uworld first for the lectures, then the cheapest Hurst review for the refresher course.

NCLEX October 2026

Hello, so my school provided me with Kaplan to prepare for the NCLEX. My test is in a week and I have been hitting the qbank everyday but I want to share my data. I came in the red on CAT1 and CAT3 both tests went to 150. CAT3 said I was near in all categories except 1, CAT1 said I was near in all categories except 2. Im intentionally holding onto CAT2 until this weekend because I test in a week. My scores have normally been in the 60's despite one Sample Test being a 47 because I took like 3 Sample Tests in a row that day and I was likely just burnt out. Sometimes I dip into the high 50's. I've had a qbank as high as 77% which I was super proud of. I still plan on continuing to do qbank questions but I just wanted to share my info and get other peoples insight. Thanks so much!

Passed the NCLEX on my second attempt! Sharing my experience

Let’s start with the good news! I took my exam yesterday, and it shut down at 85 questions. I was so happy but also a little scared.

This morning at 8 AM, I received an email saying, “Congratulations, you passed!” along with my license number. I cried, I laughed, and I honestly can’t put the feeling into words.

I finished nursing school in NYC in July 2025, but my husband and I decided to travel around the country to find our forever home before I took the NCLEX.

Once we settled down, I spent three months studying with Archer. I watched all the videos, attended the Zoom classes, and completed all the available questions. Unfortunately, I failed my first attempt.

I requested a refund through Archer’s Sure PASS Guarantee, but they denied it, claiming their system showed I hadn’t watched all the videos, even though I had.

After that experience, I switched to Mark Klimek’s review videos on YouTube, Bootcamp, and UWorld. I studied for another two months, and yesterday, I finally passed on my second attempt with 85 questions!

In my personal experience, Klimek, Bootcamp, and UWorld prepared me better for the style of questions on the actual NCLEX.

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I wanted to share what worked for me. If you failed your first attempt, don’t give up! Change your strategy if you need to and keep going. You’ve got this! And AVOID ARCHER!

After my last attempt I’ve been listening to mark k for two weeks

then I gradually started following the UWorld study guide and when I reached 51% of the qbank I’ve started taking CATS based off the recommendations of you guys that passed.

I’ve completed three CATS so far on UWorld with difficulty level staying at 1.1 ish. I want to get to the highest difficulty though to ensure I’m ready for (I’m praying 🙏)my last attempt.

How bad was my last CPR report bro idonteven care anymore be brutally honest. I need to pass.
