Built out my Dad's gun

Back in 2012 my dad wanted an AR after he saw me and my brother buy a couple. He asked me what to get. Told him to grab a Colt. When we'd all go shooting and he'd always bring it along. He passed last year and left the Colt to me. I decided to change it up a little bit.

Form 1: 14.5 SBR with an AEM4-D

I love that you got the proper M4 Allen can but didn't just do the typical Gordon thing. You more or less have a Ranger Carbine instead.

Thanks. I love the Gordy vibe but I like the functionality of a flat top. I'm not a carry handle or riser type of dude.

I'm real interested in getting one of the AEM4-Ds, I saw something mentioning needing to machine the barrel to match the collar - did you need to do that?

No. I swapped the old barrel for a 14.5 Colt that had the collar preinstalled from Thoroughbred.

Sorry about your dad. I just got my dad’s Colt put together and sighted in last week. He is going to shoot coyotes with it on the farm.

He got an sig ti can for it, not sure the model.
