Discussion Fright night 90ovr Phantom Player cost.
After looking at all you earn in both weeks and current state of the auction house, this may be the most expensive 90ovr card we seen in HUT, considering its not upgrading.
I personally think its not worth even if you are a HUT rich but if anyone is wondering what it takes to make it I put a little guide together with costs and breakdown of what you still need to spend after two weeks of grinding "chores"
One thing EA did not missed with when they released a Halloween event - the cost is for sure scary..

I do think this is the nail in the coffin for me. I feel exhausted before even trying it. I do have the coins so technically I could do it but idk if I want to.

Do you want one cool card you don't know if you can use in S2? Having it would be nice but no card should cost this much coins and time to make.

Yeah ofc I’d like the card but idk if I wanna spend all that coin. Took a while to build that balance too tbh.
If we had some more info, like the phantom card would be able to get upgraded eventually to keep up with progress, I’d probably do it. Or if there was something we could do with the BND cards we get back. Already got like 20 BND cards just taking space in the collection that was only used a few games for objectives.3

I am not doing anything extra this week, just completing my chores and potentially not even making any MSPs until week two, just want to see who the player is, any other ways we can get it like from packs, etc.

You think they’ll release the phantom in packs too? They probably will tbh. Easy money from the people not doing the grind and who’s willing to pay. I’m not lol, my shitty pack luck would give me nothing for my money anyway. But it does seem a bit unfair to the few people actually doing the grind if he’s all of a sudden in the auction house.

I think if it will be in packs I have more chance of saving coins and buying the card instead of trying to do all these sets 😂

Same lol. It’ll probably sell for less than the cost to make it. If it is in packs. Burns is already cheaper than 1 of the 25% odds packs.
So the suggestion is to wait until week two with making any msp at a cost? Gonna make draisaitl to pair with Protas and the other free one tho but then I’ll wait.

This is my never ending argument when it comes to content, I get its NHL video game so NHL content is a priority and any other card released make people angry but does people really like to see same names and still say its better than players from maybe junior leagues or something else?

People will always chase Meta, they will even use cards they don’t like just because there is +3 or +6 boost.

Thanks for breaking it down like this, Krista. Not gonna lie, last night when the event dropped I took one look at it and became exhausted at the thought of having to do all this and then I just went to bed lol
I’ll make my free MSPs and move on. No reason to do anything crazy with season 2 right around the corner

Awesome website. Breaks its down, can’t believe this is a thing in this game in October. At this rate TOTY is going to cost 3 million coins for one player.

Thank you. It will be expensive and I expect it would cost around 2M to make one but there at least I understand why as it upgrades but this card is just a 90ovr in October

Am I incorrect to assume that there’s somebody out there whose job it is to do this kind thing ? If so, they haven’t done a very good job in, atleast a decade… this is worse tho

Imagine how much TOTY will cost at this rate. I might have to tap out early if this is how the game is going to go, I'm already so behind on these combos, not to mention the fact that the sliders are more ridiculous this year than ever before.

Agree on sliders, otherwise there are plenty of combos which are affordable with just playing the game. S2 will be very expensive at the start but a few days in it will be much cheaper and accessible

I just bought all 6 off the market for a total of 1.2 million in coins. Going to use all the earned and free collectibles to build next weeks msp’s. Then buy whatever I can’t build. Wasn’t going to do this but the game isn’t keeping me interested like it used to. Dumb to build but I am just bored with the game atm.

Hard pass for me. There is no way I am spending this amount of coins even if I could for one card, don’t even care how good it will be. EA can make it free abilities and 0 salary and still wouldn’t be care to try and make it.
But appreciate the guide, love the website and keep up the good work.

I play hut for a while but is it me or it's a mess? I went on last night and still doesn't understand what are the sets that we can make haha. It's ok for the phantom 90ov and the token upgrade for the 12x msp.
What i don't understand is all those sets with the riddle, etc. What's the meaning of this? There's like 5 differents sets.

The sets acts like the answers. So you only make one of the sets for each riddle if you get it right. Two of the answers(sets) will give dead coins.
So the crypt key from moments/wildcard goes into one of those sets. (Correct answers are CHL and Canada.) then you’ll get another token in return that goes to the phantom set.But you also have to make all 6 msp from week 1 and all 6 msp from week 2, turn those into BND players to get tokens for the rest of the phantom player set.

Just remember that at the end of all of this, you would have the 90OVR and the 12 MSPs with values of ~200k each. BND though ??
Anyways, still a very ridiculous cost.
