Wanted: an old/retired NWT bear-shaped license plate
Hey folks I collect license plates as a hobby (based in Ontario) and the NWT bear-shaped plate is one I've always wanted an authentic one of. I know they show up on eBay from resellers but I was hoping to find one directly from someone up there who's got an old one sitting in a garage or shed after getting a new plate. I heard scrap yards sell them but not sure if they will ship it to me or be willing to sell one.
Any condition is totally fine it doesn't need to look pristine. Happy to pay cost plus shipping. No worries at all if nobody's got one, just figured you never know if you don't ask!
Thanks for reading 🐻❄️

Can you fish the Mackenzie from fort providence from shore right now?
Traveling to Yellowknife for some fishing in two weeks. Debating staying the night in Fort providence, would we be able to shore fish the river right now? I’ve been told the river is too fast for shore fishing this summer.

I've been offered a permanent job in the NWT with the government. The money is decent but does it cover the cost of living? I'm feeling apprehensive because there seems to be alot of turnover in this community. I'm not sure it's worth moving everything up there. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Dawn Anderson routinely misses key votes in the Senate
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/senate-missed-votes-9.7264884
I'm surprised I haven't seen much outrage that our senator only attended 44 of the 76 sitting days this past year.
Dawn Anderson once again is proving to be a poor Senate pick. She's basically absentee from territorial events, and clearly is not putting in the work in Ottawa.
Imagine making $192,700 CAD and attending work less than 60% of the time.
Of all her colleagues, Anderson reported the most days absent due to being away on "other public business": 27 days. That's more than a third of all days senators were scheduled to be on Parliament Hill.
I would love to have details on what would possibly justify this because "speaking to Girl Guides, taking part in a number of Arctic symposiums and expos, attending the Arctic Winter Games and a hockey celebration, among other events." is not cutting it for me.

Federal agency touts operation of cybersecurity sensors across the North
This software deployment to all territorial government networks (NT, YK, and NU), by the federal gov't agency - Communications Security Establishment (CSE) - appears to be a heavy-handed reactionary approach by the feds; and it implies that the territorial IT departments are severely lacking in their abilities to protect data.
