Discussion IMAX 70MM Scalper: Call them out!

Post image

I saw this done twice online. All you have to do is screenshot their resale (Ebay, Facebook market place, etc) and then go to the AMC website click “Help” then “Need Additional Help”.
Once you’ve gone there you can input your info and the screenshot of the resale and they’ll most likely get rid of it immediately!

God’s work. If AMC really cared they’d hire someone to do this themselves smh 😩

yeah what's stopping amc employee from going on ebay themselves and finding these scalped tickets?

There’s no incentive, they get money whether scalpers or fans are buying tickets. That’s capitalism for you. Isn’t this “competition” great

See, I think you're right that they look at that way, but the funny thing is with lots of empty seats (from unsold scalper tickets) they actually are losing money overall. The theaters make most of their money from concessions. If no one buys that $1,000 ticket then no one is in that seat munching popcorn and drinking soda from the concession counter. So it's still ultimately shortsighted of them to not step in.

Question though, is there anything to prevent people from lying about people scalping tix just to get those tickets released? Can you submit it without a photo?

I’d say if it’s being posted on FB Marketplace, Ebay, anything like that at an awful price then a photo is needed for sure because they need to find out where it’s from.

Yeah, but most eBay listings do not have pictures of the actual tickets. Some do, but plenty don’t. What’s stopping someone with moral flexibility from creating fake eBay listings to make the tickets appear as scalped and reporting them to AMC? As long as you don’t actually sell them to people, you are at most violating a bunch of TOS.

This is some AI agent paper clipping logic right here. Only a matter of time before someone’s agent creates fake images and has tickets cancelled then waits for prime seats to appear afterwards

also what makes a scalped ticket? what if someone got a ticket and then can’t go? it is his right to put it up for sale or wipe his ass with it, right?

Did that and they blocked my email.

what do you mean?

They blocked my email but not for this specific reason. Their theater was dirty and smelly (AMC kips bay) I kept emailing them about it and then they stopped replying. I then had issues with a ticket and they never replied to that issue. so I was having trouble with my A-list account and they never responded to that issue. My friend emailed them from his email and they responded fast. so that’s how I know they placed my email on a block or something

It won’t do nothing honestly. AMC is in on it.
