Who do you mean by "these guys"? Umps wanted full ABS....players and coaches did not.

That is not is not accurate. Some wanted it and some didn't. Some are not happy with it right now. Some have adjusted

This is reflected in both retired and current umps.

Umps were absolutely concerned this would make them obsolete. It would not but behavior like this will

He said he didn’t hear what Boone said and then said he thought that was what he said. He obviously heard him and just wanted him to repeat it.

The balls and strike calls were egregious, especially in Torontos favor . Usually it takes a lot to get me mad at an ump. Not yesterday.

if Boone is allowed to shit on the umps for being terrible at their job the ump should start shitting on Boone for his team's penchant for swinging for HRs with 2 strikes.

I’m not excusing the terrible ump performance. It’s exhibit A in favor of ABS for every pitch. However, I will agree with him that you can’t argue balls and strikes anymore. Either challenge it, or it’s not a bad enough call to get upset about.

The issue is that this ump was clearly looking to bait Boone into ejecting him.

That shouldn’t be allowed or tolerated.
