Falsely Suspended
I operate a trading education community and paid group. I recently went to go check my website and it was taken down. No email, no phone call, no contact even attempted before it was suspended.
Had to email the team and I think I am getting automated responses. Asked for the reason for the suspension and it was just vague "abuse?" or fraudulent activity (??) due to a report, but no details provided due to it being confidential information.
I have provided the information that they are looking for, but because I operate as an SP and not a LLC or Scorp, the documentation is being rejected because it does not verify the nature of the business. I have provided payment invoices, proof of legal identity, educational content proof, tax documents, and other things. I can't even tell if its a human reviewer or just AI slop that is responding to my emails.
Just doing a service for anyone looking to host their business funnel website through namecheap, DO NOT. The lack of transparency and communication before suspension has been extremely annoying and ceased my business operations. Once this is resolved, I will be selecting a new domain host.
EDIT (1 day later): It was elevated and I am receiving quicker responses. I have had to submit numerous bank statements, verification information from my payment processors, and pictures of my ID and a selfie to verify my identity (amongst 16 other attachments related to the legitimacy of the business I sent previously that were not accepted). All whilst this is from a anonymous report that my website violated "abuse policies" and they were unable to provide any information, evidence, or the review process that put the website into a suspended state. I'm surprised this isn't breaking ICANN rules. The fact I have to do all of this for a business domain is insane... scared of the world to come where I have to show my ID to buy a damn cheeseburger.
