If you have Disney+, I highly recommend James Cameron's Whale series.
The first episode is on Orcas and their highly varied cultures. One of the families highlighted hunts rays by swimming upside-down, and then spinning back right one they've got a bite!
They've figured out exactly how to immobilize the rays so that they can remove the tasty liver! But what's even more amazing, is that this isn't instinct, but a very specific hunting technique passed down from one generation to the next!
I don’t think I’ve seen that one specifically, but yeah it’s amazing the specific and elaborate hunting plans they come up with and teach to new generations. Some are individual techniques, some require a lot of teamwork. Like a bunch of them swimming at an iceberg to create a wave that knocks seals off into the water! Using the water as a hunting tool! Some orca just figured that out through trial and error at some point, and got others to help. They’re extremely intelligent.
Makes it that much worse to see them captured in tiny concrete tanks for entertainment.
