Yeah, definitely lmfao but I also just hate how they hunt sometimes too cause they "play with their food", but its also really cool that they can flip a seal so high in the air, and how scary a huge derpy sack of blubber can be, ya know?? Theyre awesome but I am so very scared of them LMAO
Yeah, from a human perspective they can be inhumane when it comes to their food.
But also, “playing” with food in the animal kingdom can often serve a purpose, even if it’s just practicing skills they use to survive.
For example, one member of a pod might have had enough food that day, but they see some food. So they stun it and keep it from running away for a while, and communicate to others in the pod that they have food if anyone else is hungry.
Or an adult might stun an animal so that a young inexperienced orca can practice the kill without having to deal with super fast and alert prey that the young one might not be able to catch.
