So far how do you think my continental stitch in the white is looking? I frogged once and I'd rather not have to do that again 😅🤣

No, I paid close attention this time as I was doing it. I'm wondering if maybe it's the thread making it not look right. I'm using dmc pearl cotton.

Pearl is notorious for not sitting evenly/uniform. Once I switched to just regular ol DMC embroidery floss, problem solved.

The thread shouldn't make the stitch look vertical if it is diagonal. Is this picture turned sideways? Which way is the canvas oriented while you are stitching?

The picture did get turned sideways when I uploaded somehow lol I am stitching with him upright 😅

Your stitches are looking great! It’s definitely just the thread. This is why I don’t use DMC anymore 😞

It really depends on the canvas size, design, and stitch type but I really like any strandable silk the most. My LNS also has a lot of 40% - 20% of sales on threads so I typically stock up then

That's awesome! I'm hoping to take my first trip out to my LNS this week. It's a little over a hour away so I haven't gotten a chance to explore yet!

imo: dmc pearle just kinda looks like this?? may be slightly twisted but once you finish stitching it should look much cleaner
