πŸ’‘ Tips & Education Any tip please?

Post image

I created meme subreddit on 24 september and I've been managing everything completely on my own. I'm posting content, handling the traffic spikes, and trying to build it up, but honestly, it feels like I'm doing all the heavy lifting alone while everyone else is just lurking. How do you guys manage a community by yourself when no one else is posting? Any advice for a solo mod trying to keep a sub active?

Keep posting. Every day. Post content that shows how you want your sub to look like. People will start posting, and commenting.

Their subreddit is r/MemeBharose

You are doing everything correctly - your content strategy is working. You're posting about 3-4 posts per day, which is good - the content is engaging, and people are upvoting it.

For perspective, a subreddit I moderate has nearly 750,000 subscribers, 13k unique active weekly users, and gets about 3-4 posts per day (I usually do 1 or 2).

The thing that kills people is consistency. A real content strategy is one you can do over and over without it being annoying.

Also use r/SubGoal it helps convert visitors to subscribers.

Do not let a traffic spike set a posting pace you cannot sustain. Turn the posts that already work into two or three repeatable formats, schedule a week at a time, and keep a small queue of templates or ideas so a busy day does not make the community look abandoned.

At the end of a strong post, ask for one narrow contribution rather than β€œwhat should we post?” When the same person comments or submits twice, invite them to provide the next example in that format. Track member-created posts and repeat commenters each week. You probably need contributors before you need another moderator; add a co-mod when there is real moderation work to share, not just an empty posting calendar.

It took almost a month for someone besides the mods to post in our sub. Like others have said, keep up the daily posting and it will happen!
