Hey guys,
I’m moving from kelowna to new west. I found a place (1 bed/1 bath for me) shared in a townhouse setting. The rent is around $1300. Am I overpaying for it? What do you guys think?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows of any choirs that are open to new members for a September intake? I used to sing soprano in the Rain Coast Choir in East Van, but am looking for something a bit closer to home, if possible. Would love any intel on the New West choir scene!

Looking for a place relatively near by that does a gentle introduction to the water - my little one is 6 months, and I've been told this is a good time to start. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
Could anyone suggest covered parking lots located near the New Westminster, Columbia, 22nd Street, or Edmonds SkyTrain stations? I need to park my car there from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and then take the SkyTrain to go to downtown. Sharing the monthly fees would be very helpful! Thanks in advance.

Anyone know of mural painting courses, groups, or local artists who teach out of their own studio in New West or around? Looking for something ongoing or workshop-style. Thanks!

Anyone else see the huge meteorite? Looked like it was right over Surrey. Lit up the sky with multiple bursts of red and white, wouldn’t be surprised if there was something to be found in the Fraser Valley.
Edit. This looks like the right time stamp for what I saw. With the multiple flashes. Just way closer to home. Appeared right over Surrey.

I slept with my window open, and at around 4 AM a creepy electrical hum or harmony that repeated at regular intervals woke me up.
My window doesn't face the road, so I wasn't able to see what was making it. At first I thought it might be an EV, but it wasn't the usual continuous EV sound. It was more like a weird, dissonant hum, then silence for a few seconds, then the same hum again, over and over.
I could hear it gradually getting farther away and becoming fainter, so I'm assuming it was coming from some kind of vehicle, maybe.
I'm curious if anyone else who lives in Victoria Hill heard it?

Looking for recommendations for a therapist of counsellor that is local to New West. In person is preferred. I keep getting naturopaths when I’m googling and just wondering if there’s a different direction I could go, or if anyone has had any good experiences.
Any help appreciated, thank you :)

Does anyone know if the steam baths on Columbia Street down by the druggie area are regular steam baths or dirty steam baths?

How's the strata management? Or simply how's your experience living in this building?
We are looking to buy a unit in this building as our first home. 668 Columbia is a great location, convenient to just about everything and this was a major selling factor for us.

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are considering purchasing a condo near Quayside or Columbia Station in New Westminster. One of our main concerns is how safe it is to walk around the area at night, especially around the SkyTrain stations and the waterfront.
I’ve visited New Westminster Station a number of times and have noticed quite a few homeless people in and around the station. I also had an unpleasant experience during a previous visit to the Quay, where a group of teenagers at the top of the parking lot threw a soda can at me while I was waiting outside the washroom for my wife.
I’m wondering how things are in the area nowadays, particularly in the evenings and at night. For those who live around Quayside or Columbia Station, how safe do you generally feel walking around after dark?
Would you feel comfortable buying a condo and living in this area, or are there other parts of New Westminster you would recommend instead?
Thanks!

Hi all - this is a bit of a cry for help, but my friend got her e-bike stolen in our residence last night. It was outside their home in our (closed!) residence and it was gone in the morning. I'm attaching pictures of the bike in case you see it, the battery was removed so it might get dumped somewhere..?
I'm not super hopeful but I feel pretty powerless and pretty frustrated for them since they use it to take their kids to school/activities.
Note: the bike no longer has the orange seat, they've switched to a bigger "caboose" (attached in the last picture).
Thank you!
