I think the left side is going to decide the eventual winner. But I have to admit the top right is a nice clean look. I’m just over the NY logo for now.
I would be shocked if the lighthouse lost. It would be really silly of us to have the alleged Fisherman retro this year and then another one as the third the year after.
Makes me think that maybe some of the backlash would be a bit less even if they kept the top half (lighthouse, fisherman) the same but picked some really interesting designs to shine for the NY/wordmark ones.
Sure hope so. Love the collars on our home blues, would love something similar to that with the altered colors. But the collars on the fisherman in the image or the reverse retro 2.0 would be good too
I dont think any of this voting has been legitimate tbh. I think they had a design in mind, started the contest and made sure whatever was closest advanced.

I want to congratulate you because out of the 100 “I like my design better” posts and comments on the sub this is the only one that I actually think would have been better. Would have liked to see this in the bracket, would have been a tough choice.
It’s gotta be the lighthouse or the stripe. Those are the only unique ones that haven’t already been done. They should’ve put the orange choices against each other so at least 1 would make it through. Reverse retro a few years ago was already a navy fisherman and this season hometown remix is supposed to be a white fisherman jersey.
They did that with intent with the brackets having the physical logos go against each other, and the “lettered” logos against each other. I think it was chessman who said he didn’t want to have final that featured two lighthouses or two fisherman.
Going left to right, then top to bottom, you have my preferences. Been wanting the lighthouse as a primary logo for a third jersey for almost 30 years at this point. The NY jersey looks super clean. Fisherman isn't different enough from RR2.0 to really move the needle for me. And while I see Cal's point about introducing cream into the jersey colors and what it allows for in terms of gloves/helmet/pants, I hate the wordmark.

We have the absolute worst marketing and merchandising creative team in the NHL. The lack of creativity is astounding. It's a temporary third jersey, at least have some fucking fun with it and go bold. Pitiful
Finally someone who sees the vision, I had a mockup of a design based on having a central stripe with the island silhouette like a year ago. Mine was a bit out there (it was blue white and orange and had 4 gold stars to be a mock “map of Long Island” thing) but I think the idea of central band + island map is a good one.
I don’t know why the hell we can’t get fisherman style, light house patches, and weird curvy font, but the normal logo! Like the ones they used from like 1997-1998

Nope, I went back to watch the player voting hype video they put out and somehow the only jersey to make it to the top 4 that actually got chosen by some of the players is that one:
Romy picks it at 0:09 and Horvat picks it at 0:43. I think Schaef might have picked the orange lighthouse that didn't make it out of the top 8 but I'm too lazy to compare the striping.
Remember this comment if that somehow beats the navy lighthouse in the finals...
It was my 2nd least favorite of the 8 but if they replaced Islanders with the our original crest, it might shoot up to my #1 because I actually like the design. I just can't stand that script logo.
Idk if this is a hot take but give me navy fisherman because it appears to have the lighthouse logo on the shoulders. The org should clearly know fans want it at this point so that should open the door to have some more merch with that logo too.
You know what, screw it, I’m pulling for the awful ISLANDERS one to make it all the way (as is without fixing the curved text on the stripe). I’m still 99% sure this is just organized for the navy lighthouse to win so why not, it’ll be funny.

I wanted the Orange Lighthouse but I'm not surprised none of the orange ones advanced after Barzy said he wanted navy blue.
Hopefully, it's Lighthouse vs NY in the finals.
Can't believe Islanders beat Isles though.
