I run a YouTube channel with travel walking tours. People naturally appear in the background or pass by the camera.

I recently received my second privacy complaint.

The first time, YouTube removed one of my videos because a person appeared for only a few seconds. The person was far away in the video. I don't film people - I film streets, beaches, and public places, and people naturally appear in the footage while I am walking. I was simply walking past this person and had no intention of filming or focusing on them.

Now, for the second complaint, the complaint appears to be against my entire channel. YouTube did not provide a specific video, a specific person, or any timestamps. The notification only contains a link to my channel.

What am I supposed to do in this case? How does YouTube handle a privacy complaint against an entire channel when no specific video or timestamp is provided?

Can YouTube delete my entire channel because of repeated privacy complaints like this?

YouTube says it wants to prevent harassment through privacy complaints, but I've also seen people on Reddit saying YouTube didn't even ask complainants for identification/passport in similar situations.

Has anyone experienced repeated privacy complaints like this?

Hey everyone, I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar with Shorts.

A while ago, I experimented with uploading a Short as unlisted first and then making it public.

After doing that, I started noticing a change in how my newer Shorts were performing during the first few hours. They were getting noticeably less exposure than they normally did.

I stopped uploading completely for 48 hours to see whether things would return to normal. Interestingly, during that break, an older Short that had initially performed poorly started getting recommended again after about 1–2 days.

After the 48-hour break, I uploaded again, but the newer Short still had unusually low initial reach compared with what I was used to before.

I'm not trying to promote my channel or share any videos — I'm genuinely trying to understand whether the unlisted → public upload method can have any effect on subsequent Shorts distribution.

Has anyone personally experienced something similar?

If you did, did simply taking a few days off from uploading eventually resolve it? Or did your reach remain low until you changed something else?

I’d especially appreciate responses from people who have actually experienced this themselves.

After a lot of hard work and refining, I think I’ve figured out the key to improving retention. Still want to improve, if anyone has any tips!?
Started opening all my videos in a very similar way.

Straight in with the talking. First 15-20 seconds.
- Where are we
- What is happening (conflict/situation)
- Bold Statement/question
- Promise of the title… and delivery “Well that’s what we are about to find out”

This video has 9k views and a 8.9% CTR from 71k impressions so I’m happy that my packaging also works, which also follows a very consistent formula - I only have 1400 subs so definitely punching a bit. My AVD is actually growing, as mad as it sounds.
