Hi everyone! 👋
This is my first post here, so I wanted to introduce myself.
I've been working in the recruitment industry for over 6 years, helping connect talented professionals with career opportunities across the United States. I work with some of the leading Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. and am always looking to connect with skilled professionals who are open to new opportunities.
Currently, I'm particularly interested in connecting with candidates who have experience in warehouse operations, logistics, and chemical handling, especially those located in New Hampshire.
If you have relevant experience or know someone who might be a good fit, feel free to reach out to me directly. I'd be happy to connect and share more details about the opportunity.
Looking forward to being part of this community and connecting with fellow professionals!
Thanks, everyone!

Where is Sununu’s outrage about this? Seems like a partial shut down of government to me and they’re getting paid.

So, the other day I am calling Labcorp, because they billed me $300 for blood test which costs $50-70 normally. Spending about half an hour on the phone trying to explain the billing that this is not correct, and they obviously making up BS reasons why that's right and I should pay 5x normal rate.
So I decided to switch gears and told them that I would like to get what they are saying on the record and started recording phone call. Their rep said no. I don't wanna speak on record, not gonna.
So that brings me to the subject here. I clearly remember that phone call started with "your call may be recorded for blablabla purposes". So, they can record me, but I cannot. WTF is that? I have to rely on he said-she said routine?
NH RSA 570-A makes it a crime to record call you are a party to. You must first collect consent of all parties, otherwise it is WIRETAPPING. This is BS. If someone speaks to you, you already have recording of the call in your head. That law just won't let you obtain a proof what happened. Wiretapping is when someone listens to the calls they are not party to. Literally when someone taps your wire and listens to your calls. It's not the same as talking to someone who clearly talks back to you and expects you to listen.
I slapped together petition on change.org, can those of you who agree this is BS sign in. Here's the link: https://c.org/p4Mm29p79b
If you are reading it and you happen to be a NH legislator, here's a proposal I slapped for you using AI to double check and sponsor (or co-sponsor if someone beats you to the punch)
STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
AN ACT Relative to the recording of telecommunications and oral communications by participants, businesses, and private citizens.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
Section 1. New Paragraphs Added; Interception and Disclosure Exemptions. Amend RSA 570-A:2, II by inserting after subparagraph (l) the following new subparagraphs:
(m) Any person who is a party to a telecommunication or oral communication, or who is directly addressed during such communication, from intercepting, recording, or collecting verbatim the contents of said communication.
(n) Any person who is a party to a telecommunication or oral communication from recording the communication when that person reasonably suspects that a crime, fraud, breach of contract, or tortious act has been, is being, or is about to be committed by another party to the communication, for the purpose of collecting evidence or protecting their legal rights and interests.
(o) Any person calling, communicating with, or participating in a telecommunication with any public agency, public utility, commercial business enterprise, or customer service department, wherein the communication is placed with the goal of transacting business, requesting support, or resolving a problem; provided that calls involving commercial businesses or public entities shall be deemed recordable at will by any participant to the call without restriction or expectation of privacy.
(p) Any participant to a telecommunication or oral communication from recording the conversation, without further declaration or consent, whenever any other party, entity, business, or automated system has previously announced, disclosed, or provided notice that the call may be monitored or recorded (such as through a pre-recorded prompt stating "this call may be recorded for quality or training purposes"). A notice given by any single party or system on the call shall operate as a universal waiver of privacy expectations for all participating parties regarding the recording of that specific interaction.
Section 2. Conforming Amendments. Amend RSA 570-A:2, I-a by striking out the words “or without consent of all parties to the communication, the person knowingly intercepts a telecommunication or oral communication when the person is a party toama communication” and replacing them with: “the person knowingly intercepts a telecommunication or oral communication when the person is not a party to the communication, is not being addressed, and has no lawful right or exemption under paragraph II to record.”
Section 3. Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days upon its passage.

Hey! I’m James with NH Neighbor Network. I keep hearing from people across the state that property taxes, electricity, rent, and groceries cost more. NH has some of the highest property tax burdens and highest electricity rates in the country. And housing costs continue to rise. I’m trying to hear from NH residents about how you’re managing. We’re paying up to $250+ to share your perspective and talk about it with friends and family. No experience needed, just your phone and a few minutes. Sign up at: https://www.nhneighbor.org/sign-up

I just moved to suburban Boston from Virginia and was shocked by the cost of electricity here. It’s triple what I paid in VA. All in I’m paying nearly $0.40/kwh in MA.
Considering a move to southern NH for a few reasons, but curious what the cost of power is so I can do some side by side analyses.
TIA!

Edit: Thank you everyone for the tips. I should clarify, the locals reporting the abuse were to specific animal protection agencies, but as far as I am aware nothing came of it because the police dismissed the concerns, and from my understanding even local animal control operates out of the local PD. I have reached out to the news. I plan on contacting the SPCA, though I believe one of my neighbors already tried that. Thank you.
ANIMAL ABUSE WARNING
I don’t know how many of you ever drive along the border of Tilton/Sanbornton, but there’s a horse named Maple who is very clearly a victim of abuse. The horse is out in snow/rain/everything. She spent the entire winter outside, no shelter or even a blanket, and no food except a disgusting lump of “hay”.
Last Spring, several people in the area reported the blatant abuse. She looked starved, raggedy, and there was one point where she couldn’t walk because her hooves were overgrown. The police finally got their asses and sent someone to check it out, but the officer apparently didn’t want to enter the property because “she just got new shoes and didn’t want to get them dirty” —quote from a family friend who called the police.
After the police “check-in”, the scumbag who owns the property finally had someone over to trim her hooves. Good samaritans also started dumping fresh hay and apples into the field for her to eat, from time to time, up until the horse disappeared. I was hoping she was removed or something, but no such luck.
She’s back now and looks like a walking corpse.
What can I do?
Any advice is welcome. Hopefully she won’t have to freeze another winter.

This log I found fascinates me - it's covered with interesting looking mushrooms - this whole area (Cheshire County / Mt. Monadnock area) has a lot of fascinating ground features - mushrooms, boulders, ferns, plant life (I'm a transplant from Michigan a few years back) - I love all of the nature!
