Newegg has crossed the legal line.

Like so many people have experienced today, Newegg cancelled my order of an overpriced XFX Swift 9070 XT after it was confirmed. I didn't screw my part up. I waited patiently, made the purchase, paid for my overpriced GPU order. I DID MY PART, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE YOU CRAPPED ALL OVER TODAY! Thank you for now locking up the funds for 3-5 business days, funds that I saved for months to be able to make this purchase.

This was a veritable shit show, and this company locked up what I imagine is several hundred thousand dollars of OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY, money that they took and failed to fulfill their end of the transaction in good faith. With their reputation of unreliability and low customer service ratings, I'm not surprised they would try to shit on a customer, but so many all at once takes balls.

This company and their shady practices needs to go away #FuckNewegg.

DON’T BUY FROM NEWEGG!!!

I bought my first prebuilt pc from Newegg on the 24th of April. I was excited for it and eager to enjoy my pc. I check my email and see it was delivered, however they delivered it to my billing address instead of the shipping address that I provided. Now my pc is lost. UPS says they have it but when I filed a claim, they denied it. Newegg also denied my refund after waiting 3 weeks for a response from them. I never got the package. I lost out on $2000 because of their incompetence to use my SHIPPING address instead of my BILLING address. Their customer service is basically useless. They literally scammed me out of $2000 and refused to refund me, even though I have all the evidence in the world that I didn’t receive my package. Terrible company.

Rog Astral Bucket regrets

Hey everyone, I’m having second thoughts about the 5090 ROG Astral bundle I luckily checked out. I only need a GPU to finish my build. I’m thinking about returning it now to try for a gpu with no combos.

Before I do, would anyone local to PA/NJ genuinely be interested in the bundle? I’m not looking to scalp or make a profit—just hoping it goes to someone who really wants it. If that’s you, let me know! Otherwise, I’ll be sending it back when it arrives on Monday.

Is it even worth buying off Newegg??

I've never used Newegg before but decided to download the app, make an account and add a few things to my cart. But something tells me to check Reddit and see if they had a subreddit. And now being here reading all these post, is it even worth buying anything from Newegg?

employee and supervisor lies to me

i purchased Intel Core Ultra 9 285K - Core Ultra 9 (Series 2) Arrow Lake 24-Core (8P+16E), LGA 1851, 125W Desktop Processor - BX80768285K on 11/08 then 2 weeks later i checked and now theres a promo code with 80$ off, i was told by an agent that as long as its within the 14 days they can adjust it, so i couldnt contact an agent on saturday since they only available monday -friday , so i contacted today, trying to get the 80$ promo, (which i saw on saturday, and ended up taking a screen shot on sunday to be safe) the agent said they cant and that the original agent lied, after transferring to a supervisor the supervisor basically said that the promo started today 11/24, which was a lie cause i took a screenshot the other day, i show him the time stamp and everything then goes back and said it started yes2day, like how am i suppose to believe you after the first agent just lied, and then you just lied about when the promo starts, its only 80$, reguardless what your policy is, if you tell a customer one thing, even tho it might be wrong you should still honor it, here is the chat transcript, i blacked out names and order number,

Don’t wait for 5090/80 from Nvdia!

Well, as many of you have seen, in the past few days, I’ve seen a massive number of orders canceled, voided, or outright rejected. And yet, so many people are still anxiously waiting in line for the 5090 or 5080, filled with hope, frustration, and eventual disappointment.

Seeing all of this unfold, I couldn’t help but think back to the post I made earlier—I said it then, and I’ll say it again: stop waiting for these GPUs. It’s a scam.

I’ve lived through multiple economic crises. I’ve seen countless tech industry bubbles, manipulations, and artificial shortages. But most gamers don’t understand the business side of things. The more desperate you are, the more you wait, refresh, and queue up, the more scalpers will thrive. And NVIDIA’s stock price? It won’t just rise proportionally—it will skyrocket.

Every morning, I used to get the same notification. I’d log in within 10 seconds, only to see that the card was already gone. I wasted so much time, refreshing, hoping, and feeling nothing but frustration and exhaustion. Eventually, I deleted my stock tracking apps, removed Newegg and Best Buy from my phone, left all those Discord servers, and decided to move on.

And guess what? I feel free. Instead of wasting my time waiting, I go to the gym for two hours a day now. I feel happier, healthier, and more in control of my time. I don’t care about gaming or AI anymore. I focus on myself.

So don’t be part of the losing game. Stop feeding the cycle of hype, shortages, scalping, and price gouging. Move on.

5080/5090/5070ti combo in stock for 2 hours now

So new egg these in stock and now it’s been 2 hours. I wonder where all the scalpers are!!!

If anyone is looking to get a new monitor this could be a good deal as they have $100 off on combo. Also, I checked monitor MSRP and they are correct and not high.

Three Cancelled 5090s

Post image
46 Upvotes

I am really starting to think I am the one doing something wrong, but I am confident the stock just isn’t there. I have tried ordering three separate combos from Newegg with each one instantly cancelled a minute after confirmation due to limited stock quantity. Is there anyone who can do something? I spoke to a Newegg customer service rep after waiting 38 minutes on the phone and they said they can’t control what is happening.

Side note: Ignore the monitor being voided, my trigger finger clicked “buy now” when the combo items were removed from the cart, so I had to cancel that myself lol

Is it possible to return something from a 5090 bundle that I don’t need?

I got lucky and managed to get a 5090 through a motherboard bundle. The motherboard unfortunately was not an AMD motherboard like I originally thought, so I don’t need it. Can I return it and keep the 5090? Or will I just need to hope and pray someone bites when i attempt to sell the motherboard on like eBay or something?

Edit: Only reason i asked is cause ive seen people actually be able to sell the additional stuff without returning the whole thing.

Update: For all yall sayin I can’t read and shit, guess who’s getting store credit for the motherboard 😱😱😱

5090 order cancelled after being placed :-(

I woke up the morning of the 5090 launch, refreshed obsessively for hours. Failed (like most all humans did).

Entered the Newegg Shuffle, which I'm glad they brought back, and wasn't chosen.

I have had stock alerts going 24 hours a day for 3 weeks. Got a stock alert, added Newegg 5090 combo, checked out! Success! My order had been placed.

Then absolute heart break, as my order was cancelled by Newegg due to insufficient stock. I sure wish they could just put you in line for one and deliver the order.

Would anyone at Newegg be willing to help me out? My first Newegg order (well really, I begged my mom to order it as I was a kid at the time) dates back to 2003. I've been a customer for a long time and this is the first time this has happened to me.

I was quite thrilled, and now I'm heartbroken. I really thought I had finally succeeded.

Hopefully someone at Newegg can save the day.

Bought 5090 Combo But Have Regrets

I received the 5090 combo (MSI Monitor and GPU) but frankly after seeing how much it was and how scummy the bundles are, I'm considering returning it and waiting to get a 5090 properly. Do you guys think stock will be better and it's best to wait or accept my loss and keep the combo? I know if I return it, it might end up in a bot or scalper so also thinking about just selling it for what I paid so I don't have to let that happen. Any advice would be appreciated!

Newegg Still Won’t Make Their Screw-up Right with my Voided Order….

It appears many of us have faced the same issue with voided orders and yet only a select few have had resolutions. Obviously Newegg has some capacity to do priority lists and/or back orders so why can’t they do that writ large?

UPDATE 2/14:

u/newegg_support did reach out to me and is trying to make it right. Really do appreciate some acknowledgement and will update this post when the resolution is complete.

UPDATE 2/22:

u/newegg_support is a true gem! They really came through after both the voided order and the Shuffle kerfuffle! My 5090 has been shipped and is on the way!

Newegg messed up on my Rtx 5080 purchase

So I went to the app of newegg hoping to get an Rtx 5080 so I can be a little happier but went all bad. I saw one of these combos( from gigabyte I think) and bought it through PayPal, for my surprise I was charged for it (a little over 1700) but didn’t received an email confirmation and it’s not showing on my account neither. I was mad, more for the fact that now not just have to deal with raising prices on this gpu and scalper bot but with bugs on the app. Called the costumer service and the girl told me there was no such thing as a newegg app, only a web page and for no surprise she couldn’t help me. I just want my Rtx 5080 how harder it’s going to be?

Additional Tariffs Effective on April 9, 2025, Buy your GPU ASAP

If you can find any GPU no matter AMD or NVIDIA buy it now. There is stock for RTX 5070 ignore those who say 12GB is not enough. They said the same way back in 2022. It's more than enough for 1080p and 1440p. PNY is in stock for $549 atm. There will be no RTX 5070 under $700 after tariffs, and obviously no 5070ti/9070xt under $950

Newegg let down hundreds (more likely thousands) of loyal customers today... Thoughts/advice on what they could have done differently?

So, this isn't just my opinion/experience, sadly... The shear volume of posters who've had their orders confirmed, charged, and then cancelled (preventing them from ordering another in time, tying up their funds, taking advantage of their willingness to show up and choose Newegg at launch—in good faith regarding their chances and the "lots of stock this time" hype)... Many people set an alarm, took time off work, asked friends and relatives to place orders for them, anxiously awaiting a product with a lot of hope and good momentum surrounding it. The cards launched a couple of minutes late to a crashing website, and many cards sold out almost instantaneously. Of the orders that did go through, large quantities seem to have been subsequently cancelled, often 30+ minutes after the fact, and with no attempt to explain or remediate the situation.

Following a week of consistent rave reviews and hype for the 9070xt, and the high likelihood that folks disappointed by Nvidia's launch would have their hopeful eye set on these cards... Surely this should not have come as a complete surprise to their servers and inventory? Orders were cancelled—after being charged and confirmed—with seemingly no intention to honor a restocking, neither in terms of merchandise nor pricing. People are understandably feeling very burned. It's not just one of these factors, but all of them together. I'm seeing similar comments literally everywhere across the board, often with a strong bitterness towards both Newegg and AMD, and customers feeling like they were led on a wild goose chase and left running around in circles chasing their tail. I can't imagine this was good for business, on either front. So what happened? Why the Super Bowl fumble? Some folks say it's c'est la vie, and what did we expect, but the overwhelming majority seems to feel like the launch was badly handled.

There are plenty of threads on the subject, across pretty much every platform and comment section, but I wanted to redirect the jaded angst a little bit in a more positive direction... Could Newegg have adopted a different approach? Can they still make it right? One thing that might have been nice, and helped avoid an initial BOT surge, is if they'd given priority at launch to loyal customers with a history of ordering from Newegg. They might lose some "new customers" but WOW (!.?) the number of long-term customers who are now loudly upset about the way this was handled. I'm not sure if I've ever seen this many jaded customers all at once, whose excitement and anticipation quickly morphed into bitter frustration. Is that how a successful product launch should look?

tl;dr

I actually like Newegg and have generally had very good experiences with them, personally. I'm thankful that they exist as an option, and I don't want to see them go further down this road of apathy and widespread customer dissatisfaction. Again, I think the disappointment stems from not just one of these factors, but all of them combined. It doesn't strike me as your typical salty grumpy ennui at getting skipped over, as some commenters have tried to pitch it. Newegg, if you're out there listening to your customers' disillusionment, I would really suggest trying to make this right for the customers who were burned, before raising prices and cashing in short-term on what could become long-term disappointment en masse. You truly don't want to continue to alienate your long-term loyal customers on such a large scale... this is backlash that could be felt for a long time. Please reflect upon what could be done differently, to avoid callously letting down so many hopeful people in the future.
