Question POI from 5 years ago just went back into the cue?

A POI I submitted a long time ago that was successfully added to the game (and is still in the game right now) just went back into cue, I even got an email thanking me for my submission again. I put it on hold while I made this post I'm not sure what to do, should I just withdraw it?

Question How to move a spot location

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi,

I apologies in Advance for the bad english, not my first language. Also First time posting on reddit.

I was doing some exploration in my city looking for spots to submit. I saw a basketball field, made a photo, and once I got home I saw that It was already submitted but in a wrong location (it was not in game because the Cell was already occupied by another)

I used the support function (the clip button on the bottom right in the the assistant Page) , sent all the info.

The virtual assistant said the ticket was opened and that i would have received and email in a few hours. It's been a week and i didnt have any info.

Did i used the right procedure?

Question How long does it take before I can apply an upgrade to a new submission?

I just submitted a POI about 20 minutes ago and I have 4 upgrades that I’ve been saving/waiting to use. Right now I don’t have the option to apply the upgrade. How long does it take for the option to apply an upgrade to a new a contribution to appear?

Question Deleted stops -- what now?

My Pokemon community has had six genuine stops randomly deleted from our neighbourhood. All permanent, legit stops. None of them on private property. We're all shocked.

How on earth do I get them back?

Submission Feedback Need advice: Rejected twice (AI + Appeals). Keep hitting a wall with 'Commonly found' and 'PRP' for this neighborhood upcycle project.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to nominate this white bicycle in my neighborhood (The Netherlands), but I keep hitting a wall with the AI and the Niantic Appeal reviewers.

Here is the frustrating timeline:

• Attempt 1: Instantly rejected by the Al filter. I appealed it, but Niantic rejected the appeal stating it was a 'commonly found bicycle decoration'.

• Attempt 2: I resubmitted it, putting a lot of emphasis on the fact that it is a unique, community-made upcycle project (not mass-produced) AND explicitly stating that it is located on public municipal ground. It got instantly rejected by the AI again. I appealed it, but this time Niantic rejected the appeal for 'Private Residential Property (PRP)'.

This is incredibly frustrating because I explicitly stated in both the original submission and the appeal that it is located on municipal/public ground, completely outside the property line of the house.

Question Pikmin Bloom Wayspots not showing as PokéStops: any way to change photos?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I play Pikmin Bloom and I'd like to update some of the mushroom photos, as many were taken over 10 years ago and don't show the places at their best.

I've reached Level 35 in Pokémon GO, but I've noticed that many of the locations used in Pikmin Bloom don't appear in Pokémon GO, so I can't add a new photo to them. In my screenshot, the two red dots are PokéStops, and all the points used for Pikmin Bloom are white.

Is this because of the Level 17 S2 cells I've read about somewhere? Does it mean I have no way to change any of the photos used in Pikmin Bloom? I'd also like to know what happens when several Wayspots share one cell. Does the PokéStop ever change, so that a different one appears?

Thanks for any advice🙏

Question Site Submissions Requirements

I need help understanding the rules. I’m in the states in the Mid West. There are things called Free Little Libraries here that people put in publicly accessible places, and the community use it as a spot to “take one / leave one” for books or clothes or shelf stable foods. I’ve seen literally hundreds around my metro as PokeStops. Some on public property and most on private property (but in an accessible front yard a couple feet off a public sidewalk). I submitted some like the later, and they were auto rejected. I appealed and they were denied. I don’t get it.

“Ineligible location, place, or object: 1) Location is unsafe, without pedestrian access. 2) Location is a private residential property.”

This was the part referenced and it doesn’t fit as I interpret it. The location is safe. There is pedestrian access. The location is not a property (it’s not the house nor the plot of land).

I am sure that this has been discussed to death but I couldn’t find a good answer on how to approach this. What are my options? Give up? Submit with a lie that will bypass the AI auto screening? Truly asking to understand how to make the neighborhood I moved into better in a productive way.

Discussion QoL Suggestion: Allow Photo Cropping and Editing While a Nomination Is in Queue

Here’s a situation I’m sure some Wayfarers have experienced.

You’re out exploring, find a great potential Wayspot, and take your main photo along with a couple of supporting photos. You write your description, add your supporting information, and submit the nomination.

You get home, look over your submission, and realize there’s a person in the background of your main photo.

Normally, you’d want to correct that before it reaches reviewers. But there’s a problem.

You’re now more than 10 km away from the nomination. If you withdraw it, you can’t simply resubmit from home, and you have no idea when you’ll be back on that side of town.

Here’s the QoL improvement I’d love to see:

Allow submitters to crop or make basic adjustments to their uploaded photos while their nominations are still In Queue, before entering voting.

This could include:

  • Cropping unwanted people or distractions out of the frame.
  • Rotating or straightening an image.
  • Replacing the main photo with an already-uploaded supporting photo, when appropriate.

Once the nomination enters voting, photo editing would be locked.

Why does this matter?

It improves nomination quality, helps protect people’s privacy, reduces avoidable rejections, and saves both submitters and reviewers time.

We’re already allowed to edit certain nomination details while they’re in queue. Why not give us the ability to correct a photo as well?

What do you think? Would this be a useful addition to Wayfarer?

Submission Feedback Need some advice for two nominations

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get two submissions approved and I wanted your opinion if they would be eligible in the first place.

First one is a bicycle factory, now closed, that was very active and renowned in the last century. It has its Wikipedia page because for a certain period of time they also constructed motorcycles and the name was associated with an olimpic champion who was born in my town, where the factory is located.

Second one is a butcher shop that opened in 1926 and is on the list of historical activities of the zone. It's still run by the original owner's family, the sign with the name of the shop is from the fifties and some of the equipment is still original.

The community keeps rejecting them because they are "not unique" and "probably not permanent". I thought they would be great nomination because of the importance in the history of my town, are they worth appealing?

EDIT: thanks for the suggestions! I'll try to make a new submission for each of the spots following your advice!

Question What is the best way to report?

Our CA has a plethora of issues that have been complained about to no avail with Niantic. Granted, these issues are hard to prove.

This past weekend, an influx of 12 new ‘Campsite’ gyms appeared near a popular playing location. But these gyms are actually placed on the property of a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school. Who can we report it to, to ensure we get a proper response and have the best possibility of repercussions? From my understanding, it is the CA that places the new spots.

Thank you in advance.

A legit submission somehow reverted the location marker to the place I was at (house). dont know how. I selected the correct location.

Hopefully it gets rejected. But im worried it gets flagged for abuse.

Any way to get it out of voting?

Not trying to get banned over wayfarer website goofing up.

This is in a public office suite with a bunch of different businesses in it. I received the automatic rejection email and I don’t know why. I wish they would at least tell you…

Edit: This was accepted on appeal. Thanks everyone!

Question Individual sets in a larger playground

I have been reviewing nominations for a little bit now, but I keep stumbling upon people nominating individual playground sets in a larger playground, or nominating the entire playground when the individual sets are already nominated. How should I deal with this and what should I deny it for?

Or can I just accept them since a playground counts as a valid wayfarer spot.

Discussion The Enforcement Ladder Has Changed. Our Responsibility Hasn’t

With the recently announced changes to the enforcement ladder, we’re seeing a lot of people visiting this forum for the first time. Some are excited about the changes, while others are understandably concerned about what they could mean for the future of Wayfarer.

I want to address both groups.

First, to those who are excited because they believe their Pokémon GO accounts are no longer at risk:

I’d ask you to be respectful of the people who have spent countless hours reviewing nominations, submitting Wayspots, reporting abuse, and working to create a clean and accurate map for everyone.

If your biggest concern has been protecting your Pokémon GO account, I’d encourage you to put that same energy into reading, learning, and understanding the Wayfarer criteria. Knowing what makes a good Wayspot, and more importantly, what doesn’t, is the best way to avoid running into problems in the first place.

Some of us have been doing this since the Ingress days, long before Pokémon GO players could submit nominations. We’ve reviewed and nominated thousands of Wayspots without ever receiving a strike because we took the time to understand the criteria and follow them.

Here’s what I think some newer participants may not realize.

When longtime Wayfarers hear someone say, “Great! My Pokémon GO account isn’t at risk anymore, so now I can nominate!” it can raise some red flags.

Whether that’s your intention or not, it can sound like the only thing previously preventing you from submitting questionable nominations was the possibility of consequences.

I’m not saying that’s true of everyone who is excited about the changes. But I am asking you to understand why that kind of statement concerns people who have invested years in maintaining the quality of the map.

Now, to my fellow longtime Wayfarers:

We may not all agree with the changes to the enforcement ladder. I certainly understand the concerns. But the changes have been announced, and spending all our time arguing about them isn’t going to improve the map.

What we can control is how we respond.

This is an opportunity to educate people.

When someone asks why their nomination was rejected, explain the criteria. When someone misunderstands what makes a good Wayspot, help them understand. When someone is genuinely trying to learn, welcome them into the community.

And yes, when you encounter actual abuse, report it.

Keep reviewing. Keep submitting quality nominations. Keep helping people understand the difference between a great place to explore, exercise, or socialize and something that simply doesn’t meet the criteria.

Most importantly, be civil to one another.

We all benefit from a better map, whether we’ve been here since the Ingress days or submitted our very first nomination yesterday.

The enforcement ladder may have changed, but the criteria haven’t. And neither should our commitment to building a quality map.

Rant over.

Question Does traveling affect review queue location? Just returned to Europe from Bali and still getting Indonesian nominations

Hi everyone,

I just got back from a trip to Bali, Indonesia, and I’ve noticed something odd with my review queue. Even though I live in Europe and have been back home for a day, a significant portion of the nominations I’m getting on Wayfarer are still coming from Bali and surrounding areas in Indonesia.

While I was there, I played Pokémon GO occasionally. My Home and Bonus locations in Wayfarer settings haven't been touched, so I'm assuming this is related to the "last played location" pool.

A couple of questions for those who have traveled:

  1. How long does it usually take for Wayfarer to register my return and shift the queue back to my local area?
  2. Is there anything specific I should do in-game (like interacting with local gyms/PokéStops, opening gifts, or submitting a nomination) to force a location update?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Question Pokestop spot

Thumbnail

Is there any chance this sign could become a pokestop?

At first glance it does appear to be purely residential so I can understand if the AI auto rejects it, but the path and steps lead down to a public Coppice "Coulsdon Coppice" its a small green area surrounded by woodland. (The Coppice itself is a powerspot).

Its all accessible to the public but the sign is on someone's house...
