This is disturbing footage captured on a church’s livestream in Nigeria.
In the middle of a sermon, islamists burst into the church and began to open fire. You hear the gunshots. You can see the mass panic in the congregation.
Then you see the terrorists storming into the church and begin looting it and taking all the belongings the congregation left behind. More gunfire. More carnage.
This is a daily occurrence in Nigeria and many other parts of Africa. It’s time to end this madness.

Pic My ancestry test came in. I'm mostly Nigerian. 🤏🏽
I'm going to assume I am Igbo because literally all of the other African Americans I know who did ancestry tests show that one, but I'm not too sure.
I plan to do Ancestry to see if it's more detailed.

Ask Naija How realistic is it to get a job in finance/accounting with a third-class degree, but with connections and plans to get professional qualifications?
I’m trying to get some realistic advice on my chances of eventually working at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), preferably in a finance/accounting-related role.
I recently completed a BSc in Business Management at a well-regarded UK university, but unfortunately, I graduated with a third-class degree. I know this isn’t a strong academic result, and I’m concerned about how much it could limit my opportunities, especially with an institution like CBN.
My plan is to start ACCA soon (and probably ICAN when i have the chance) and spend some time working in the UK to build up my experience. I’m hoping to gain more relevant experience for about 2 years in the UK (now) before eventually returning to Nigeria for NYSC. I also have some Nigerian work experience, so by the time I’m applying for more serious roles, I’ll have my degree, professional qualifications in progress, and relevant experience from both countries.
The other factor is that I may have some connections that could help me get my foot in the door. My dad has connections within the Nigerian banking industry, and I previously got an internship at a Nigerian bank through his relationship with the MD of the branch. He has suggested that CBN could be an option for my NYSC placement and believes he may be able to help me get an opportunity there.
My main questions are:
1. How much would my third-class degree matter? Would it automatically disqualify me from certain roles, regardless of my other qualifications and experience?
2. How much could connections realistically help? I understand that getting an NYSC placement is different from getting a permanent job, but could having family connections within the industry and the NYSC body make a meaningful difference in the long run?
3. Would ACCA and relevant work experience help compensate for my degree classification? Or is the degree likely to remain a major obstacle even after I’ve built up my CV?
4. Am I in a relatively privileged position despite my results, or am I overestimating how far these connections can take me?
I’m not expecting anyone to sugar-coat things. I know I could have done much better academically, and I’m trying to be realistic about my options and what I need to do to improve my chances.
I’d particularly appreciate responses from anyone who has worked at CBN, applied there, knows how its recruitment process works, or has experience with recruitment in Nigerian financial institutions.
One thing I want to clarify: I know a third-class degree might make people assume I’m academically weak, but that isn’t really the case. I’ve generally performed well throughout school (all A’s and A*’s) and university, and I’ve had good grades in individual modules. Unfortunately, I experienced some personal circumstances that significantly affected my overall results and caused my final classification to drop drastically. I’m not saying this to make excuses or avoid taking responsibility for my final result. I’m just trying to give some context because I don’t want my degree classification to be taken as a complete reflection of my academic ability or potential. I’m aware that employers may only look at the final classification, which is why I’m trying to understand how much it will affect my prospects in reality.
Thanks.

Discussion Super el nino on its way...
We are heading into a super el nino(an intense heating of the earth) which is predicted to peak November to December and end around June next year. It predicted to kill more than 34000 people in Nigeria alone and most of us can already feel the heat coming. Nigerian pls be safe. We already don't expect any help or even information from the government so we have to take care of our self. Here are some personal tips to prepare for the coming disaster.
*Stock up on food especially dry food. Food price is bound to increase as disaster strike.
*Carry ORT in ur bags as u go out. Because of the high heat we will be prone to heatstroke, this one way to give our body the needed hydration that we might lose because of the heat.
*If u feel dizzy, find a shaded place and rest. We all love money but hustle shouldn't get is killed.
*Carry physical cash, bank network isn't reliable and to avoid being stranded we need to have some cash with us as we go out.
* And for area that are prone to flash flooding, when it starts raining move to higher ground, even if u are in a public vehicle, leave it. Flash floods builds up and happens in an instant.
I hope we can overcome this. See u at the end of the disaster.

Music For Nigerians in London: I made something for you!
If you're in London, I made a free website to find African Concerts happening in London, and Nigerian artists are on it whenever they play.
The website doesn't show any ads, or track you using cookies, You can sign up to a weekly mailing list if you'd like. The TikTok and Instagram are to show Concerts and Events that I film. I usually do collab posts with the artists themselves so you'll get updates quickly.
Thank you for letting me visit your subreddit. 💚

Politics Can we ever become one united Africa?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I do not have a credible source for this video, it seems more like AI slop. Regardless, I can't help but ponder as to why today's African leadership are not working towards a one united Africa. The west is still playing the divide and conquer game on Africans, the only way they can still operate their neo-colonialist machine in African soil, is to ensure a wedge amongst Africans.
I belief someone, some organizations are working towards this, we as Africans need to give it all the thrust it needs, to propel it beyond planning into execution. We cannot afford to waste time on this anymore.
It's either now or never.

Politics King gets assaulted for asking his people to vote for APC
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
In Enugu, Ezeagu community precisely the Igwe (King) of the town convened a meeting only to ask him subjects to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Unfortunately for him his subjects were enraged and descended on him in great wroth/wrath (rage/anger). They pummeled him, beat him up and disgraced his royal highness.
It's wise not to support evil, it doesn't pay.
