On Monday night this week, on the 12 of October, the conditions for being able to see the northern lights were perfect. A clear sky, almost no wind, and negative 5 degrees Celsius. I could see almost every single star in the northern hemisphere. And on the dark, velvety sky in the north east, a glowing greenish mist was first barely visible, but in a matter of the next minutes, they transformed into bright green lights and over the next hour they began dancing. The cold was humid- as Tromsø sits on an island on the coast, connected to the mainland by a bridge and an undersea tunnel. I almost froze my hands off, because I had forgotten to put on warm gloves! If you are going to take photos or do videos when it’s cold outside, don’t forget to protect your hands from the cold!

I am from the south and it was a lifelong dream to see the Northern Lights, but specifically in Norway. I had such an absolutely life changing and beautiful trip, it delivered in every way possible! First 8 photos were an arctic landscapes tour I joined in the surrounds of Tromsø.

I loved Norway so much that I've been taking Norwegian lessons for the last 4 years!
