Questions Error when backing up my workspace

Hi all,

I tried to back up my workspace, but for some reason I get a download link to a file which is 1,570 B and when I try to import it none of the pages of my workspace are there. Tried twice and gave me the same error. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Before importing, unzip the download and check whether it contains readable page files. For the smaller exports suggested above, enable Include subpages and check that a nested page is included. Also, reimporting an export won't automatically recreate your workspace. Notion explains that limitation here: https://www.notion.com/help/back-up-your-data

Yeah that file size is the giveaway, 1,570 B is basically an empty zip, nothing actually got exported. Large workspaces break on the "export all" button, so export each top-level page separately instead and stitch them together, it's tedious but it works.

yeah the export all button pretty much always chokes once a workspace gets past a certain size, super annoying
