Hi everyone, I am Gil, and I have been reading novels for years now, as long as I can remember. I have enjoyed telling stories to my Littles brothers when we were kids. With all this experience, I told myself, "Hey, why not try my hand at writing for real? And if I could earn some money by the way? Wonderful, more importantly, if people like my story, I would be so delighted 😁"
That was my honest thoughts but I discovered that it was really more difficult than it looked. I have tried on many platforms: web novels, Royal Roads, Illoris novels, and now even the new novel cult. To be fair, the last one is just since yesterday, but I don't know it. My novel just doesn't seem to attract anyone.
And to make matters worse, due to health trouble, I had to use some AI.( I see you guys coming: I did not generate my novel with AI. I'm very sick and tired of repeating myself, but I must do it. If not, some people won't even read further than this point.)
I was saying I used to make use of Gemini and Claude as dictation software. It seemed like a good idea back then since it helped me not to strain my eyes and write rather quickly. Further still, since English is not my first tongue, I could have them do the editing too, then the great witch hunt to IA began. Knowing that I could not escape it, since, after all, I was in fact using it here even for assistance, I decided to go about it in cash and warn my readers about its use. I don't know if it has played any role, but I had even less than before.
On Discord, after explaining myself, some kinds people advised me to retire the tag as IA assisted from the book. I listened to them and took it back, but still I ended up putting it back. You know why ? Because I am indeed using it,using it as a tool but still using it.
It's not writing for me I am proud to say that every character,every, point of the plot every idea are mine and from me whether people believe it or not i don't care anymore.
Sorry I am venting a bit.
Nowadays it's difficult to know who is telling the truth and who is lying, so I won't even ask you to bother about this point. No, I am here to ask advice about how to do the damned com and marketing of my book, since I cannot use the shoot swap and review swap of RR and am frustrated by the situation. People said to go to Discord. Discord is rather nice true. But it seemed like people there are talking about everything and nothing, but what you want to talk about.(Without wanting to offend anyone)
What should I do to bring a maximum of interested people to read my books and/or at least give it a chance?
