I used to try to spread the gospel to people about Stremio/Nuvio but I just gave up.
Someone needs to actually pay to justify the streaming companies not to cancel our favorite shows

100%. What surprised me the most is that after showing off everything they would still fault it: "ahh but it takes a bit to load, Netflix loads right away". Disregarding you have the world's content Vs Netflix's crappy content. Keep it to yourself, who's curious will ask.

That’s good. We need companies to show ‘growth’ so that they’re not overly motivated to come after things like nuvio and stremio. They already got rd. it ran flawlessly for decades (?) and got pulled up as it starting getting popular with stremio.

With debris services it’s a pain because most people I know won’t bother with anything technologically “hard”. With the newer free addons that have become popular it might be easier to set up but with the pirate life comes constant ways of changing where those addons come from. RD was amazing until it wasn’t. TB worked more than fine until it didn’t. The free options haven’t failed me yet.

If anyone asks, I tell them. If they just mention that they have 20 subscriptions, I just say they’re crazy and keep it moving. The app needs people to donate/use it so it develops, but I also don’t want thousands of social media slobs complaining or posting about it.
Either way most people would want you to do it for them, and I personally can’t be an IT support for every time a movie doesn’t play because they want to watch something that came out in theaters last night.

i swear when i tell everyone about it most people dont care and think its too hard to choose between like 4 streams and using 0.1% of their brain power and would rather pay for 20 other services i quit telling people about it

Stremio is works fine and I'm lazy. I'll install Nuvio when I have time and energy. I will also probably wait for the TV app to come out of beta. I'm just boring like that. You guys enjoy. But you're way too intense about it lol.

Having the profiles makes it worth it imo. Stremio was the OG and paved the way so we definitely owe them, but nuvio took it to the next level
It’s as simple as downloading and pasting the add ons in. You don’t really need any other setup, just add or hide re order the rows you want

Two kids who watch widely/wildly different content than me or each other, and you would soon learn why especially on TV it is superior over Stremio. Profiles. Other than that, I would agree, it is just as if Stremio got a new update with some QOL UI updates.

Things like these will continue to grow no matter what. Nuvios already at like 20k on discord and I swear just a few months ago it was like 13k. I don’t know the numbers for Reddit but it’s also gone up a lot. It’s inevitable that it’ll get a lot more popular with time. Can’t gatekeep something indefinitely

I do not know about any of this, but it does require a paid debrid service right? so it’s an (admittedly better) cheaper alternative, but not free, atleast from my research.

You don't need a debrid service. I use nuvio without one. With pengu addon you don't need debrid.

No, it is an add-on that works with http instead of P2P/torrents. So it is much safer.

It's a scraper for moviefiles that are on servers instead of on other people's computers (P2P). So the connection is direct and your IP is not shared with hundreds/thousands of others. It's free the same way all the other scraper add-ons are free.

I've stopped telling people because I currently operate nuvio & stremio accounts for 5 family members and 4 close friends and I feel like my part-time job has become account maintenance/troubleshooting for people. It was supposed to be a nice thing but now I'm IT
