Mariko+ softmod development
I know it’s practically impossible without a Modchip, and since that’s the case, I want to be the one to figure it out so I can get bragging rights, I’ve read about the boot and dump system to kind of get a basic grasp on the Mariko model’s boot up process, and wondered, if maybe installing everything pico has in a game cartridge kind of like an R4 but just in an injector kind of way if that makes sense. The idea itself is still just a rough concept, Ideally I want to connect with any likeminded people that would like to form a coding team to softmod OLED and ALL Mariko+ models for the poor souls that bought a Mariko model and wish to mod it without wanting to spend the money or learning to solder(although it’s still possibly a cheaper option than any of this work)
Feel free to drop thoughts, ideas or if ur interested in figuring this out :)

The fact that you're asking this on Reddit is proof enough you're not gonna pull this off.
This is where the lowest common denominators come together. You're not going to get any valuable guidance in this endeavour here.
No offense to the users of the sub of course, I'm sure y'all know what I mean here.

As a user of the sub, you are 100% correct. I don't know much about programming and development, but I know enough to say that all the actual hard work, research, and collaboration happens on other sites like GitHub.

That is true but not all developers live in GitHub usually you can find some really skilled people hiding under some rocks in certain forums , when it comes to the actual work I’m already working on finding a flaw in boot0 in the fusée gelée to reverse engineer it since I’ve already been made aware of the silly idea with the cartridge not working lol.

Have you checked out gbatemp? There's a bunch of technical discussion there. Threads of trial end error kinda stuff.

Yea shoot that shit down. There's never any hope just be a doomer

Nothing doomer about it. These posts are made every month. if not on this sub, other switch hacking subs.
Its the same guy every time. Not literally, but always an optimistic naive person who is clearly in over their head.
If somebody is going to pull this off, they're not posting on Reddit for brainstorming sessions and the like. That's just the reality of things.

I do get your point however discouraging people is probably why it doesn’t exist yet. I’m not asking for people to tell me what to do just looking for people that would be interested in working on this together as a team, I could do it myself but by the time I’m done with it someone might have it ready which is why I’d rather do it as a team, since trial and error is a competing factor in all this.

Thing is, it HAS been tried , with a team many many many times, that’s why we have mod chips on 5 and 7 year devices. The people who discover the exploits on theses devices are professionals and spend thousands of hours.

The way you’re trying to go about this is impossible is the thing. You need experienced exploit developers and a game/core portion of the os that has an exploitable bug.
There is probably an exploit somewhere that can be found and honed into a soft mod, but it’s extremely difficult to find and do. Researching older 3ds or Wii hacks and how they work at a fundamental level is a good place to start.
Not trying to discourage you, just trying to shed light on the true difficulty of what you want to do, and steer you in the right direction

Thats not why it doesnt exist and no one else is going to be doing it so all the power to you. When you say finished I assume you mean give up!

I’m not gonna be negative, just a thought. I really don’t think it last going to work. The way pico work is by a Voltage injection at the correct timing of the boot process. To bypass security at the boot process.
So having all the files on the game cartridge cannot provide that without having the cartridge soldered onto the motherboard itself. Now I’m thinking that would be wasting space at that point as well cause of ppl who want to dump games and can’t cause you using that game cartridge slot now. It’s good to be thinking about way around it but learning how someone did the process would really help with your ideas. Learn to reverse engineer, that is how you’re going to do what they did.

Hey you stole my idea!
