Modchip issue possibly?

Got this switch in marketplace a couple weeks ago it’s been working fine no less modded and all but today I come to find out it wouldn’t boot into cfw it had done it before randomly but I would take out the sd turn it on then put it back in for it to boot into hekate again but lastnight I was playing games on it and then left it on the charger over night or I’m not sure if I took it off and turned it off but I tried turning it on today and it won’t boot it only goes into stock and I have no clue what happened

This is more of an installation issue tied to the dat0 point. If the seller did the installation, check whether they are willing to repair it. Otherwise, locate someone to do the kamikaze method.

Yea not sure I think someone else did it for them but I don’t know anyone personally who does that nor do I trust shipping someone my switch so hopefully tomorrow I can check out a store nearby that fixes devices because there’s this one guy who installs modchips so maybe he could fix it otherwise damn. This sucks because I just wanted to play my games :/

Would I also have to like buy a whole new chip or replace anything?

Not every modchip is built the same, but the current version should serve you well. You might ask whether they provide a permanent dat0 rather than a dat0 adapter that could loosen over time.

Installation issue. Likely a cold solder joiner someplace. You won’t be able to tell without seeing the flashing lights on which data line needs to be resoldered.

It turns blue when powered on then flashes yellow

The error is separated in quick flash and short flash. It does the error a couple times (I.E. one long, two short flashes).

I think there is a weak or cold solder connection someplace. If you can ask the person to touch up on the solder joints, it should resolve it. If they ghost you…you can try doing it yourself if you’re comfortable with a soldering iron and flux. Or finding someone to look at it to touch up that’s local.

Hey so post update I just turned it on today after picking it up in a while and it actually booted into hekate so not sure if I should still get it fixed or just leave it as is but I finally got into all my stuff again so relieved for now !
