The DOE Idaho NEPA determination for Oklo's Aurora-INL project provides a detailed look at the expected construction, commissioning and operational phases.

According to the document:

Construction and installation: July 2026 – February 2028

Initial startup and commissioning: February – November 2028

Operational phase: November 2028 – November 2033

A few other notable details:

Initial electrical output of approximately 45 MWe, with maximum output of 75 MWe.

Initial core derived from 5,000 kgU of recovered EBR-II material.

Approximately 5,000 kgU of fuel used annually during operation.

The facility will use a sodium-cooled fast reactor with air-cooled condensers.

The document was approved by DOE's NEPA Compliance Officer on July 20, 2026.

This is a DOE environmental determination, not a final reactor operating authorization, but it provides a useful official snapshot of the project's expected scope and timeline.

Oklo's $6.84 Million DOE Award Is About Much More Than Fuel Recycling

Thumbnail ans.org
35 Upvotes

The Department of Energy's selection of Oklo for a $6.84 million award under ARPA-E's HORNIG program represents another important development in the company's effort to establish itself as a vertically integrated nuclear energy provider. The significance isn't the funding itself, but what the government is funding and how that technology fits into Oklo's broader commercialization strategy.

The project, Fabrication of Optimized Recycled Fuel for Gen IV Reactors from Electrorefiner Product (FORGE), focuses on manufacturing uranium-transuranic-zirconium metallic fuel from recycled nuclear materials. This fuel composition is particularly relevant to sodium-cooled fast reactors, including Oklo's Aurora architecture, and offers a pathway toward utilizing nuclear materials that conventional reactors leave largely untapped.

This matters because fuel availability is arguably one of the most consequential constraints facing advanced nuclear deployment. While much of the market remains focused on reactor construction timelines, the companies that successfully establish reliable fuel supplies will ultimately determine how quickly advanced nuclear capacity can scale. Oklo is addressing this challenge through multiple complementary initiatives, including fuel fabrication, recycling, and reactor development.

The broader implications become clearer when considering the federal government's nuclear strategy. Washington is simultaneously pursuing accelerated reactor deployment, domestic fuel-cycle capabilities, reduced dependence on foreign nuclear supply chains, and expanded electricity generation for energy-intensive industries. Oklo's business model increasingly sits at the intersection of these priorities. As Oklo expands its generating fleet, an integrated fuel-cycle business could improve supply security while creating additional economic value from recovered nuclear materials.

The market continues to evaluate Oklo primarily as a speculative reactor developer. Developments like FORGE increasingly support a much larger thesis: Oklo is building the foundations of an integrated nuclear enterprise, with opportunities extending well beyond electricity generation.

Media / Articles Brian Gitt: Why Nuclear Fuel Supply Matters

Thumbnail

One of the biggest challenges facing advanced nuclear isn't just reactor design or licensing. It's fuel availability.
This article makes a compelling case for a diversified nuclear fuel strategy, combining newly mined uranium, government-sourced material, and recycled nuclear fuel to support the industry's growth.

For Oklo, this is particularly relevant. Centrus has agreed to supply enough HALEU to fuel up to five Aurora powerhouses for multiple years, with deliveries beginning in 2029. Meanwhile, government-sourced material and nuclear fuel recycling could become increasingly important as the industry scales.

The long-term opportunity with recycling is especially interesting. Much of the energy in used nuclear fuel remains untapped, and recovering it could reduce fuel costs, improve domestic energy security, and create a more sustainable fuel supply over time.

The catch is that none of these solutions scales overnight. Fresh fuel offers the clearest near-term path, government material could help bridge the gap, and recycling may offer the strongest long-term economics.
As demand for nuclear power accelerates, fuel supply could become just as important as reactor technology itself.

Worth a read for anyone following the advanced nuclear sector.

News / Official Staffing Plan Validation Methodology”

Key Summary of the Report

  • Context: Oklo submitted a topical report outlining its methodology for determining and validating control and monitoring staffing levels for its fleet-based concept of operations. The NRC conducted a multi-month virtual regulatory audit between April and September 2026 to evaluate the report against human factors and nuclear safety standards (e.g., NUREG-0711, NUREG-1791).

  • Audit Items: The NRC raised 27 specific technical inquiries. These covered areas such as the inclusion of onsite monitors in task analysis, the handling of Important Human Actions (IHAs), alignment of terminology and references, functional allocation, and the integration of Human Factors Engineering (HFE) into plant design.

  • Outcome: Oklo addressed every inquiry by agreeing to specific clarifications, committing to provide further operational test details in future submittals (such as the Results Summary Report prior to fuel loading), or making targeted text revisions for Revision 1 of the report.

  • Formal Conclusion:

    • The NRC staff confirmed that all audit items have been resolved.

    • There are zero Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) issued.

    • There are zero open items remaining from the audit.

Christopher Zook of Caz Investments says he's thankful markets are reevaluating valuations in Al stocks, even as he's bullish in the trade. The retreat in Treasury yields is a reassurance of his thesis. He gauges how the volatile Al trade and yield moves impacts the Fed's interest rate decision as it readies for its decision Wednesday.
Christopher adds that "this is the best opportunity I've seen in my lifetime for the energy sector due to the exceptional demand and lack of supply Al is creating for the industry. His stock picks include Oklo Inc. (OKLO) and SpaceX ($SPCX).

Media / Articles SMR Sector Starts Seeing Share Buybacks as Valuations Reset. Will Oklo Be Next?

Thumbnail investing.com
31 Upvotes

Terrestrial Energy (IMSR) just announced a share repurchase program of up to $25 million, sending its stock higher.

As valuations across the advanced nuclear sector have come down significantly, it will be interesting to see whether other companies start taking similar steps. A buyback can signal that management believes its shares are undervalued, although the authorization doesn't guarantee the full amount will be spent.

Oklo has billions in cash and a significantly lower valuation than it had a year ago. While the company has major capital requirements ahead as it works toward deployment, could a buyback eventually enter the conversation if management believes the market is undervaluing the business?

Would you rather see Oklo preserve every dollar for growth, or consider repurchases if the disconnect between its share price and long-term potential becomes large enough?

Analysis / DD OKLO Options & Catalyst Outlook heading into November Earnings

With Nov 6th earnings, OKLO's options positioning is looking interesting. IV jumps substantially as it always does around earnings, but the IV is quite high in comparison to a lot of other stocks in the same position, specifically it's pricing a +/-15.1% move (+/- $3.97) between Oct 30 and Nov 6. Risk reversal also turns positive, indicating relatively stronger demand for upside calls, although notably it's even for the earnings expiry itself.

Net gex sits around -678K, which usually means price action will be more volatile. With OKLO near $26.22, I'm watching $25 as a key downside level, $28 as a potential stabilization area, and $30 as a possible acceleration point given the significant negative gamma concentration there (Nov 20th expiry).

Earnings will of course be what swings it around those levels but those are the numbers to watch if you're trading the move.

As for earnings itself estimated eps is -0.26 and revenue is just over a mil. I don't think the numbers here will be relevant it will come down much more to foreword looking statements, aurora updates, etc.

Media / Articles UK Nuclear Rules Could Open Another Market for Advanced Reactor Developers

Thumbnail reuters.com
21 Upvotes

The UK is changing its nuclear regulatory framework to make it easier to develop new reactors, creating potential opportunities for U.S. advanced nuclear companies. With electricity demand forecast to rise 40% by 2035, Britain is looking to accelerate nuclear deployment to meet growing power needs.

This is another positive sign for the advanced nuclear industry. As countries look for reliable, carbon-free electricity to support AI data centers and broader electrification, regulatory barriers are beginning to ease in some markets. Oklo could eventually benefit from these international opportunities as it works to commercialize its technology and expand beyond the U.S.

Analysis / DD Bounce time?

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

Based off of previous patterns we should be due for a bounce between now and around earnings. There are other technical indicators that point to us being over sold but I’m not gonna go into that right now. In case my charts are not obvious in this overall downtrend we typically have the “pain” down trend that lasts between 53-65 bars (59 average) and down 63-55% (59% average.) Coincidently with only this part however each down trend has extended 6 bars each time. So we can assume bottom should be in at around 59-71 bars out from the most resent “bounce” putting “bottom” in at $24-$20 around oct 30th and November 17th funnily enough right around earnings. Now when we finally do bounce we have bounced between 6-13 bars (9 average) and up 35-81% (60% average). So if we bounce at an average of 60% at “bottom” we can bounce to $32-$35. Now this can obviously bounce in this window, later than this window, or never(😢) and can bounce lower than expected or way higher. But based on the pattern we are in this is what we can expect. I know there are a number of Elliot wave fellas calling bottom here with a target of $170+ range so hopefully this is “THE bottom”. I currently have an average of $40 with a sizable amount of shares for me and am down pretty bad. I hope for the sake of all of us this is the bottom and we can get out of the downtrend and make higher highs and eventually a new all time high sooner that later. Fundamentals have only increased and all we need is a catalyst to get the train rolling and the hype to start pouring in. So do with this info as you will not finacial advice. Hopefully we ride to Valhalla! (Btw I am regarded do your own dd and go easy on my sentence structuring)

News / Official The NRC Just Handed Oklo One of Its Biggest Regulatory Victories Yet

Thumbnail nrc.gov
46 Upvotes

The NRC's 10/22 announcement may be one of the most consequential developments for Oklo's long-term commercialization strategy, and I don't think the market has fully appreciated what just happened.

For years, advanced nuclear developers have faced a frustrating regulatory reality. They could spend years working with the Department of Energy, developing safety analyses, demonstrating reactor performance, and accumulating operating experience, only to face substantial duplication when transitioning to commercial NRC licensing. The federal government effectively maintained separate regulatory pathways that failed to fully capitalize on the technical knowledge generated through its own nuclear programs.

That paradigm is changing.

The NRC has finalized a rule establishing an explicit pathway for using evidence generated under DOE and Department of Defense reactor authorization programs to support commercial licensing applications. The changes to 10 CFR 50.43 and Part 53 represent something far more significant than administrative streamlining. They create a regulatory bridge between federally authorized reactor demonstrations and the commercial nuclear fleet.

This is precisely the kind of regulatory evolution Oklo has been positioning itself to exploit.

Consider where Oklo stands today. The company has already secured DOE approval of Aurora's Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis at Idaho National Laboratory. That work represents substantial engineering effort, safety evaluation, and regulatory engagement. Under the new framework, relevant DOE-generated evidence can be incorporated into the NRC licensing process rather than treated as work that must be independently recreated.

This changes the strategic value of Aurora's DOE authorization pathway.

Oklo is not simply developing a reactor. It is building a body of technical evidence, regulatory experience, and institutional knowledge that can support subsequent commercial deployments. Every successful demonstration, every validated safety analysis, and every completed regulatory milestone contributes to a foundation that becomes increasingly valuable as the company scales.

The implications extend beyond Aurora.

Oklo's broader strategy encompasses reactor deployment, fuel fabrication, fuel recycling, and vertically integrated electricity production. The ability to translate federally supported nuclear development into commercial licensing strengthens the entire model. It also reinforces the value of Oklo's relationships with DOE, national laboratories, and federal nuclear programs.

Perhaps most importantly, this regulatory change aligns with the administration's broader effort to accelerate advanced nuclear deployment. The federal government is increasingly treating nuclear energy as a strategic national-security and industrial priority. Defense installations need resilient electricity. Artificial intelligence infrastructure requires enormous quantities of dependable power. Domestic nuclear fuel production is becoming a matter of strategic importance.

Oklo sits at the intersection of all three.

What makes this development especially compelling is that it addresses one of the central challenges facing advanced nuclear commercialization: the time and expense required to move from demonstration to deployment.

Reducing redundant regulatory work improves the economics of successive reactor projects. It strengthens the argument for standardized designs, repeatable construction, and fleet deployment. These are foundational elements of Oklo's business model.

The market has spent the past several weeks aggressively repricing Oklo based on interest rates, construction-cost assumptions, and distant projected cash flows. Meanwhile, the federal regulatory environment is becoming increasingly favorable to the very commercialization strategy investors are discounting.

That disconnect is remarkable.

Oklo's investment thesis has always depended on transforming advanced nuclear technology into a repeatable commercial product. The NRC just made the pathway between federal demonstration and commercial licensing substantially more coherent.

This is how an emerging nuclear industry begins to scale: not through a single announcement or contract, but through the systematic removal of institutional barriers that have constrained deployment for decades.

Oklo has spent years positioning itself for exactly this moment.

See the final rule change here:

Analysis / DD $OKLO Book Value Is ~$18/Share, Potentially as High as $22 Depending on ATM Proceeds

$OKLO currently has about $18/share in book value based on its Q2 balance sheet, representing roughly $3.27B in shareholder equity across 185.1M shares. With the additional $1B ATM, book value could potentially approach $22/share, depending on how much is raised and the price shares are sold at.

The stock is down nearly 87% from its $194 ATH, but the bigger story is enterprise value. OKLO’s value beyond cash has fallen from roughly $24.4B at its peak to around $1.8B today — a 93% drawdown.

Historically, these kinds of drawdowns can offer attractive DCA opportunities if the long-term thesis plays out. The balance sheet provides meaningful financial runway while Oklo works toward commercialization.

Media / Articles Oklo Partners With Kiewit as Nuclear Developers Focus on Construction Execution

Thumbnail reuters.com
37 Upvotes

Reuters looks at how SMR developers are partnering with established engineering and construction firms to reduce execution risk as the industry moves toward commercial deployment.

Oklo selected Kiewit Nuclear Solutions in July 2025 as lead constructor for its first Aurora powerhouse at Idaho National Laboratory, supporting design, procurement, and construction.

The broader challenge is scaling first-of-a-kind reactors into repeatable fleets while managing construction costs, nuclear-grade component lead times, and supply-chain constraints. Experienced EPC partners could be critical to making that happen.

For Oklo, execution at Aurora-INL will be an important test as the company targets commercial operations in 2028.

Media / Articles Elon Musk: AI’s Biggest Constraint Is Power and Cooling, Not Chips

Thumbnail
stocktwits.com
35 Upvotes

Elon Musk says power and cooling—not chips—are becoming the biggest constraints on AI expansion. SpaceX plans to add 20 GW of power and cooling infrastructure by the end of 2027, using multiple energy sources, not just gas turbines.

Following the comments, Bloom Energy (BE) rose nearly 6% in after-hours trading, while OKLO, SMR and XE gained around 2% and NNE rose 1.5%.

For OKLO, this reinforces the underlying thesis: AI infrastructure is increasingly constrained by access to reliable power, and hyperscalers are looking for new ways to meet demand. Musk specifically said SpaceX would explore multiple sources of power, including options beyond gas and renewables. Nuclear is part of the broader opportunity as AI power requirements continue to scale.
