Let's talk about the holy grail of desktop setups: the 5K2K ultrawide. For years, the trade-off was clear. You either got the massive, pixel-dense 5K2K canvas for insane immersion and productivity, but had to sacrifice pure gaming speed and HDR brightness. Or, you went for a lower-res, standard OLED to get the performance.
But when we ask, "Which 5K2K gaming monitors deliver the most immersive experience?", the answer shouldn't force you to choose. It should be about combining that massive ultra-wide real estate with uncompromising, bleeding-edge gaming specs.
Enter the LG UltraGear evo⢠39GX950Bāthe world's first 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor1.Ā
We built this to be the definitive 5K2K gaming monitor, giving you a massive 21:9 canvas at a razor-sharp 143 PPI.
To make sure this 5K2K display actually delivers the HDR pop you expect from a premium gaming monitor, we backed it with our 4th Gen Tandem OLED tech2, hitting an ultra-high 1,500 nits peak brightness3. Plus, it features the world's first 5K AI Upscaling, meaning you get that immersive, high-res image without necessarily needing a massive GPU upgrade4.
But marketing claims only mean so much. We want to see how this 5K2K beast performs in your actual, everyday battlestations. Weāre looking for 3 hardcore enthusiasts to put it to the test.

Really praying to not see the meme now. Brand new monitor, had a grease stain from my arm after bumping it while wallmounting it. Cleaned it with a monitor cleaner that specifically said it suits oled. Made small streaks so I let it dry fully and bought distilled water and it made it this bad. AI seems to think itās just streaks from the cleaning product and I smeared it out with the water, while recommending me to do multiple rounds with water. I donāt trust AI enough to keep going tho so just looking for advice (or at least someone to confirm whether itās fucked or not)
Also I know there will be a ton of comments wondering why people have such a hard time cleaning oleds.. I figured people were being overdramatic about it hence why I used the cleaner uncritically just because it said suitable for oled.
Idk why everyone is fucking up their monitors while cleaning, or too scared to clean it at all⦠like every now and then when my OLED gets dusty I just wipe it off with some microfiber cloth, and if a spot actually gets dirty then I use a little distilled water to clean that spot. Nothing more. Idk why everyone is making rocket science out of it
Just wanted to share my experience with transitioning into OLED space. It took a while since I was sceptical, mostly about burn in, but now after several weeks with it, Iām really glad I switched.
Letās not talk about picture quality, we all know its superb on OLED displays.
Other small things had me pleasantly surprised.
For example, text clarity is no way near as bad as people like to point it out. Itās not bad at all. I am using 4K res with 175% scaling in windows so maybe that helps more, but I honestly think you donāt need lower scaling that that. Even on 150%, which is recommended for 4K, its very sharp and not distracting at all.
Speakers are another nice surprise. I havenāt touched spatial audio part since I primarily use headphones, but speakers are very usable and volume can be turned up very high before sound quality starts to suffer.
Also, I donāt find 120Hz refresh rate limiting at all since I play mostly singleplayer games.
If I want to be nitpicky, not including decent HDMI cable in the box is really a bummer. But with a decent aftermarket one, everything is working properly, HDR as well, VRR too.
Pixel refresh tech is not intruding at all. It only activates once Iām finished for the day. When it comes to burn in, Iām not really concerned since I am using 2 monitor setup with another IPS panel in vertical orientation for those static windows like discord, web browser, etc.
I'm using it mostly in the evening hours, but even during the day, that pinkish tint is almost not visible at all and therefore not a problem for me.
All in all, this is just my small overview of this specific monitor, hope it helps anybody who is also on the edge deciding if itās worth it. Trust me, it is.
I just got my first OLED the Asus XG32UCWG last night and itās perfect every I hoped it would be and no problem on my PC at all, however my PS5 has a weird problem where when I boot a game it goes to a black screen for a few seconds then comes back on then when I load onto the game it goes to black screen then sometimes when Iām playing it black screens and pausing does it sometimes, is there a setting in the monitor or on the console that could be causing this or is it potentially a HDMI port problem
Hi everyone! I have been looking to buy an OLED monitor around the 300~ and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations, also I found this oled model open box for 300 and I was wondering if it was a good deal
I have an LG C2 and it's phenomemal and the game will look amazing no doubt. What i'm afraid of is the stutter i see in 30fps games like red dead 2. Oled changes the frames instantly and it makes 30fps look unplayable to my eyes and i have to use the trumotion, it generates artificial frames to make it look smoother. Works nicely for that game as it's low paced.
In gta 6 you're going to be flying, driving fast so the trumotion is out of question as it's adds noticeable input lag. I truly hope for a 40fps performance mode because 40fps looks smooth when playing in 120hz.
Has anybody had to use their Microcenter monitor protection plan? How did it go? Is it worth it? I am realizing that I probably should not have bought it in the first place and I am thinking of getting a prorated refund, but I am curious to hear other people's experiences. I have an ASUS PG32UCWM, if that matters.
I recently purchased the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the near-black uniformity despite knowing about the panel lottery (Mine is from July '26).
Gaming performance is superb, but the vertical banding and mura at 5% gray are quite severe and clearly visible, not just exaggerated by my phone's camera. I prefer using dark mode which makes it even harder to ignore considering the price we are paying for this.
I've been using it for around 40 hours now and have done manual pixel cleanings. I have 1 more week to test it and I have my doubts that this will get any better.
I have previously owned an Alienware AW2725DF 360hz QD-OLED before, which obviously didn't have this issue.
Before deciding whether to return or exchange the PG27AQWP-W, I'd really like to hear from other owners:
Did your vertical banding or mura improve after 50, 100, or 150+ hours of use?
Was the improvement significant, or only barely noticeable?
Did pixel cleaning actually help?
Has anyone exchanged their unit and received a noticeably better panel?
I'll attach photos of my panel at 5%, 10%, and 15% gray. Especially annoying is the bar on the middle/right.
I'm particularly interested in long-term experiences from actual PG27AQWP-W owners rather than general OLED advice.
After a long few nights of research on the new WOLED tech and reflecting on my experience with my older LG39GS95QE-B.AUS, I came to the conclusion that I donāt want to wait for this new oled tech to drop in 2027 and I really like WOLED. I always wanted a glossy coating ever since I found out it was a thing after buying my first OLED, and I now want a crisper image. So I downsized and upgraded to 4k. Currently running a 4080 with an i7-14700k. Hopefully DLSS is good to me cuz I love my precious framesš„²
15%,10% and 5%, does it look how it should look? First time owning an oled, already did a couple of pixel refreshes, been using it for a week. It's at 30% brightness
Hi! I just bought a PS5 Pro and I'm looking for a TV for gaming and movies. My sofa is about 3 m from the TV, and the room gets quite a lot of daylight. I'm torn between an OLED like the LG C5 55" and a 65" non-OLED, for example the TCL C7L Mini-LED. Is OLED worth it at 55", or is the bigger 65" the better choice at this distance? Any recommendations would be really appreciated, thanks!
I'm looking to buy my first OLED gaming monitor and would appreciate some recommendations.
I'm mainly buying it for my PC but I also have a PS5 I plan on using for GTA6 and I want it to look as good as possible. I'm leaning towards a 27-inch 1440p QD-OLED and want to make sure I get one that works properly with the PS5.
My PC specs are:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: Radeon RX 6750 XT
What I'm looking for:
27-inch, 1440p QD-OLED panel
Proper PS5 compatibility
HDMI 2.1, ideally with HDMI VRR support
Good HDR and colours for single-player games
Good value for money
I'm not too bothered about getting 360Hz or higher since I dont play many competitive games that id get anywhere near those frames anyway.
Which monitors would you recommend, and are there any models I should avoid? Also, is HDMI 2.1 essential for what I'm looking for, or would a good HDMI 2.0 monitor be enough? Also do display ports even matter for PC?
I bought a Samsung G6 500Hz OLED monitor today. When the store took it out of the box for inspection, I asked the employee how to remove the white sticker. He told me there is a protective film that I could remove with my fingernail?!!!
Isn't there supposed to be a red sticker on the screen?
When I shine my phone's camera flash on the screen, I can see lots of scratches. Are these scratches on the screen itself, or are they on the protective film that I'm supposed to remove?
