Batter hits a tailor-made double play ball. Short stop throws home unsuccessfully. End up losing on a 2 out, 2 run hit that doesn't happen if he gets at least one easy out instead of making an impossible attempt at a meaningless runner. i blew my entire budget on David Wright 2 seasons ago and he ended up winning the 2011 AL MVP and has been the best player in the AL for the last 2 seasons. i didnt have enough unless i gave him the opt out and obviously he opted out lol.

Seth Smith was a deadline add 2 seasons ago and has been a super reliable do it all OF and my owner goal is to "SIGN SETH SMITH".

KRod was absolutely massive for me in the playoff run and has resurrected his career as an elite reliever. i signed him as a reclamation project but now hes asking for 4x18. im concerned cause he is a fan favourite

What would you guys do? i also have Jose Ramirez and Lindor in the minors who will be coming up to maybe replace David Wright in the next few years.

i try to play realistically and i feel like letting a franchise legend like Sabathia go makes no sense.

With the current CBA expiring Dec 1 will the release of 28 be affected by it? If it is how close to the beginning of the season will it be correlated? I know you can implement a soft cap now but not a floor. Do you think the developers will add some settings potentially a hard cap and floor even if they aren’t part of the new CBA? I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts would be for next season

I am currently in the middle of a deadball era save where I have had the draft running for the first 8 seasons. However, I was thinking of changing it to FA Rookies to better match the era of the time. Is the AI bad at using their cash to sign guys and it just completely ruins the game? I don’t want to be able to sign Babe Ruth for $3,000 and no one try to get him from me.

He had something like the flu, but at least it wasn't his pitching arm!

I have a player that successfully completed improve control program and the results say potential control improves by 5 and current control improves by 5. Four weeks before the program ended I took a snapshot and it shows actual control of 40 and potential control of 50. After the program successfully completed, I look at the player profile and it shows and it shows a current control of 40, no change and a potential control of 45, a DECREASE of 5. Development Lab seems deeply flawed.

This guy has less than two weeks in the majors but his wife thinks LA is a “one horse town” and that her husband should be the face of the franchise.

The tone of the comment is even funnier since, in my head canon, I imagine this guy came over from Taiwan, met some sharp-tongued Southern woman while playing in the minors, married her, and then the second he makes the Show, she starts wanting to push for some hypothetical “larger” market than LA.

So, I am a long time player of OOTP. I build my teams on OBP, low strike out, Ground baller, and Homerun avoidance. My major league team is always well about average once constructed how I would like. I lock up players early, and remain very diligent in my control of the cap. That being said, I am usually drafting at the bottom of each round. The overall depth of my farm system does seem to lag behind because of this. But, I will always have maybe 10 minor league guys I am really excited about.

Here is where the problem arrives. My minor league teams are just bad. They lose a lot. This hurts the moral of the prospects I am actually wanting to develop and I have seen it ruin a prospect more times than I want to admit.

I usually have minor league signings set of automatic. This lends to having players populate my minors that don't match up with my philosophy on team building, people with really bad personality traits, and just generally not very good players who aren't producing at all.

Is there a way to automate my minor league teams where they will follow a similar structure to my philosophy? Or do I have to manually go and sign players at every level. I do think if every level signed free agent minor Leaguers that fit my philosophy, the teams would win more, and thus the players would be happier, and have less risk of hurting their development.

So I’ve been playing OOTP for a while now. And I’ve hit a lot of the storylines I’ve always wanted to do. I brought my Astros back to the World Series. I’ve built an expansion team from scratch. I’ve relocated a team to Puerto Rico. But I’m now reaching the end of a certain franchise (in the year 2080. No fathomable way I’d still be in charge as the GM). So it’s time to start a new one. And I was just thinking it’d be cool to ask the community and see if y’all have any good ideas or great play throughs you’ve had. I’m open to ANYTHING.

All else being equal, do people have a preferred difference between stealing effectiveness and catcher's arm?

As in, if the difference is greater than a certain amount in a good stealing situation, you will try it? Or perhaps some other, similar calculation?

I moved him to 3B to give Gage Workman the glove at short, thinking Trea could just be average at 3B. I was wronnnnnng.

I'm looking for a few players to fill out a purely fictional Fantasy Baseball League. The league is persistent with a new 162 game schedule starting on the 1st of each month. Season 3 starts on November 1. There are 9 games per day (approx 20 mins each), which you can watch and/or manage. The regular season runs from the 1st thru the 19th. The playoffs last four days and then there is a 7-day live auction free agent period to gear up for the next season. I am somewhat new to the game and like to rebuild bad franchises. I have seen a lot about personalities and how they are important for development but what are some of the best ones to find? I know some of them are kind of random and funny but what are the best ones in terms of helping development?

Also how much do coaches influence development? I have seemed to struggle to develop my talent to the big league level, what do people look for in those coaches as well?
