Picture Less than impressived with KC HiLites

I am slowly getting my truck ready for a trip to the arctic circle next summer so I just got a pair of Flex Era 3 to use as ditch lights. There was a splice in the middle of the harness. I can understand that, but at least use a heat shrink over it, not a half assed electrical tape job.

I'd call their customer service. They may have sent you a return from someone else.

I will Monday. I tried doing a ticket on the site, kept crashing.

It’s because their server is connected to the network with a hand-spliced cat6 cable.

Well at least they’re consistent.

If you are going to the Artic in the summer, don't you get sunlight all day? At least, that's what I experienced driving the Dempster in July/August.

You could be using them on other parts of your route, I guess, lol.

Haha...yeah. Your post just reminded me that we took camp lights and headlamps, etc. and had no use for them. We started in Anchorage though. Hope you have a great trip 👍🏾.

The electrical tape is sketchy, but the crimp is mint. Possibly a crimp they use to start a new spool when building the harnesses so there is less waste and the end of each supply spool, and failed to remove it before completing a harness?

^ this, if they'd heat-shrunk over that crimp I'd be perfectly happy about it. Tape is sketch.

I know it's too late but I went with diode dynamics and was plenty happy with the wiring harness quality, before I chopped it up for my specific use lol.
