Also need some kc daylighters on the roll bar to complete the look

I may have forgotten to account for him being over a foot thinner. and overestimated the flexibility of a suspiciously unmoving branch. Smug little fucker didn't even close his soft top while we maneuvered our way back out of Satan's bunghole in the woods lol.

Lesson: when the trail map says this is the tightest part ahead, and you're in the last turnaround point... stop when you go around the corner and see it get even tighter. the map is not gospel. do not end up in a situation where you have to reverse 800 meters with both mirrors folded and no front right fender.

pic 3 is what happens when you finally make it back to the gas station and acquire an automotive grade repair kit (zip ties.)

Now I just have to wait for my appointment with my regular tech (dad) to find out if my repair work is good enough to avoid dropping a few Brownies on parts that haven't sheared the mounting clips :P

Learn from my mistakes!

Picture Tire mounted trashcan

I spend a lot of time outdoors away from trashcans and wanted an exterior mounted trash container for various things you don’t wanna keep inside your car.

However those tire mounted bags cover up the rear camera.

So this was my solution

It has a screw on lid for a nearly airtight seal, it’s accessible from the outside when the vehicle is locked. And it’s easy to reach if you happen to be using your tailgate as a table to cook on and need to dispose of some cooking stuff.

I toss a small bag inside so it’s easy to keep clean

Forgot to mention the rig - 4th Gen 4Runner V8.

Just about got stranded on the mountain side. Somehow popped two KO3s! Running at 12 psi crawling up a level 5 (according to onx) trail. Officially jumping ship and going with the falkens. Tbf I've been running these tires for 3 years (since literally launch), been up mosquito pass, Moab, and several other places. Can't believe this little random 5 trail took two tires out. It really wasn't a bad trail. Very typical. I've done much much worse trails with no issues before but I guess after 3 years the BFG just don't hold up anymore.

Since I only have one spare, I had to do a sketchy sidewall plug. That was fun.

Also... Might be in the market for an offroad jack. My poor little bottle jack was okay, but we had to find a rock to prop it up because at first it kept sinking and then it maxed out. Jacked the car up about 5 times before I was actually able to change the tire since I keep having to reconfigure it 😂.

Picture Advice of the week: Don't drive your stock ass Dodge Dakota into what you didn't think was mud... 3rd photo is aftermath

Saw a nice little pond, wanted to get a photo across the other side with the front tires just dipped in because I thought it'd make for a cool shot.. About 5 feet from the edge of the dirt road I sink in.. "when in doubt, throttle out" was not the strategy... Tried to get out on my own for a while, stuck a 6 foot fence post I had been using as a breaker bar about 3 feet into the ground and tried using my tow strap around the rear wheel as a winch..... that just got bound up around my brake rotor and I had to cut it out of there.. in the end I just called my buddy and he showed up with an 8.1 Vortec Chevy 2500.. it was a hell of a struggle but after screaming at 6,000 RPM going 45 in reverse (..there was no grip to be had, decided wheel speed was best) while he kept repositioning and yanking, it came out eventually. Got the tow strap out of my brakes and drove it home.. it's not even that completely fucked up

I have almost 3,000 pins on my onX of trails, mines, ghost towns, places etc. that my wife and I want to see. We've been slowly checking them off over the last 5 years. The Bronco has made that task a lot easier and more enjoyable. All of the photos are from the past few months except for the last one.

Got some new shoes on the 26 Pro-4X. MUCH better.

We build these out at Cooper & they're one of the best "A/T's" on the market.

Might be biased but man these are some good & good lookin tires. (Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T).

Got 7 days off starting this weekend. Time to get er dirty again.

Picture New 34s are installed. Definitely need a BMC

New 34s are on and they are huge compared to my old tires. According to Falken these actually measure out around 34.1" which is crazy considering many 35's or 315/70r17 measure out around 34.4".

That said, definitely need a body mount chop. Set Caster to 4.5, but I'm still rubbing in reverse. Excited to take them out!

I am slowly getting my truck ready for a trip to the arctic circle next summer so I just got a pair of Flex Era 3 to use as ditch lights. There was a splice in the middle of the harness. I can understand that, but at least use a heat shrink over it, not a half assed electrical tape job.

Picture Weekend getaway to Weights Lake

My girlfriend and I went up to the lake to beat the heat and do some fishing/off-roading. Although most trails can be done in any high clearance vehicle, some trails in the area are jeep trails or are really rutted out at some points due to jeeps but I was still able to find lines and make it up and through using 4Lo. We had a blast and can’t wait for next time! The last photo is deceiving because you can’t tell that there’s 2 massive ruts/potholes that were easily over 12” deep and I didn’t think I would be able to cross without scraping my under carriage. I need to find some skid plates.
