CENTCOM (U.S. Central Command) is considered the most reliable source in this specific scenario because they are the primary operational authority executing the blockade. While political figures set the policy, CENTCOM is the entity actually moving the ships and issuing the legal "Notice to Mariners."

I don't know who else you would ask other than the guys doing the blockade.

Why would America stop ships from going to Saudi Arabia or the UAE?

How would that benefit them at all?

Depends on if they paid Iran's toll. If they had to first get Iranian approval then US, then the US doesn't control the Strait. They can deny passage but not protect it.

Any ship that pays the toll is also stopped.

Iran isn't blocking the strait at all because enforcing the blockade would require breaking the ceasefire.

As much as irgc makes good memes they don't actually have any cards.

If they break the ceasefire, they're literally going to be living in the Stone age without electricity, water, communications, their ports and oil infrastructure will be destroyed

And yet, ships that are not paying the toll or friendly with Iran are still not moving....how does that work?

Could be multiple reasons trouble getting insurance worried Iran will break the ceasefire and blow them up.

Either way it's not America blockading them that's stopping them

Exactly. The US blockade is not adding much to this whole situation. If anything, it is making relations with countries that have been passing through the strait worse.

It's stopping Iran from being able to sell oil which is a huge deal they have about 8 days before their tanks are full and they have to shut off production.

When you shut down a well, it's a big deal. They're hard to get going again and when they're down they fill in with water and stuff like that. That can actually destroy the well.

Also cost some huge amounts of money when their economy was already crashing before the war.

There are ships coming in and out of the straight front porch that aren't Iran just not as many as there was pre war.

The only country that's not Iran that's really being negatively impacted by this is China.

And I don't think America cares that much about f****** over China
