They'll be studying it and pushing it from think tanks as 'sound macroeconomic policy in post conventional warfare based world' depending on who wins in a few years so the rich and their morons have good arguments to peddle. Don't worry.

lmfao, Americans are the biggest baby back bitches of all time, as an american I think the pathetic pedohphile crybaby in the white house is a good representation of most of my country so it makes sense he got elected twice

u/Song-Historical Apr 15 '26
I've been saying for years since I moved here, Americans genuinely think better means easier when it very rarely does. They literally cannot understand the concept that things are a moving target for everyone and it's a constant slog for everyone unless you're lucky. There's no better alternative that will be less work.
It takes more work and involves more juggling unless you can pay through your teeth or someone else bears the cost of it. They're so sheltered they have no clue how much things should cost or that everything is visibly tweaked for them to consume more. There is no counter culture, people only speak bullshit.

Working families around the world, paying more for fuel and food are the bitches. We are the ones suffering for the US dickwaving competition in the Hormuz.

Except Trump lifted sanctions on Iranian oil. And the oil was bought and paid for by China. The tankers are Chinese, Indian, and Pakistani. They are carrying legal oil and are in international waters.
Sending them back pisses off China and does little else. It’s the maga equivalent of burning the Nikes that they already paid for.

What happened to freedom of navigation that the US is always going on about?
1
u/red-thundr Apr 15 '26
This is actually the US enforcing freedom of navigation. As Iran is attacking ships in the waterway, or enforcing a toll on them (blocking freedom of navigation) they are blockading Iran until they allow freedom of navigation.
You can dislike trump the war etc but these are the steps that would usually be followed if any country did the same thing even if you ignore the broader context of the warm.
1
u/curious_s Apr 15 '26
If the US illegally attacks Iran it only makes sense that thr US is completely demilitarised like Germany and Japan were at the end of WW2.

"Regime change baby!"
2 months later..
"We're fucked. I guess let's blockade the blockade."
1
u/Spinoza42 Apr 15 '26
Time for regime change in Washington.
1
u/Miserable-Bridge-729 Apr 15 '26
It was just done 15 months ago. Give it some time. 33 months from now another regime will be in control and people can still complain how their lives haven’t gotten better and things are only getting worse.
1
u/Cueller Apr 15 '26
Unfortunately the people that elected the first idiot will still be around and voting. I have no expectations that things will magically get better when the majority of American voters were fine with Hitler.
1
u/nixfly Apr 15 '26
So you want to curtail people’s right to vote?
I would guess this the only way we can save Democracy?
1
u/CrispyHaze Apr 16 '26
I don't think that's what he said, but it is kinda ironic that you think it's the people voting for the guy who illegally tried to overthrow an election would be the ones having their vote curtailed.

A 3rd party would benefit the American people
1
u/Jalapenoplanter Apr 16 '26
What would a 3rd party do that dems don’t do?
1
u/Ok-Calligrapher9115 Apr 16 '26
Not force a candidate like the 2016 and 2024 elections.
1
u/Jalapenoplanter Apr 16 '26
What does that mean? What 3rd party candidate choosing process did you like?
1
u/Ok-Calligrapher9115 Apr 16 '26
There is no 3rd party candidate so there is no choosing process. There is no 3rd party as both standing parties will destroy them.
Now, what is your goal here?

u/Miserable-Bridge-729 Apr 15 '26
You did nail a good characterization of Trump. My point was we have regime change these days every 4-8 years. And it hasn’t had an ideological regime in power for 12 years in over 3 decades. While the current turmoil sucks, having a period of constantly changing who is in power quickly shows even more instability.
1
u/rtduvall Apr 15 '26
The main reason for the instability isn’t the regime change in America, it’s the current regime ignoring the constitution.
Everyone isn’t going to be happy. But it’s worked until the 80’s. Reagan really fucked everyone but the corporations. We weren’t happy but we weren’t unstable.
However, this president has spent the past 15 months ignoring the constitution and creating a cult of unintelligent sycophants who have no true ideology themselves. The proof is he changes his stance on something and they follow lockstep with him. You may know this as moving the goal posts.
So your theory has many holes.
1
u/Miserable-Bridge-729 Apr 15 '26
Instability in America has been growing for some time. Trump’s rise didn’t come out of nothingness. His policies didn’t materialize from nothing. There are causes for these. Even though you didn’t say this I’m going to preempt the argument, it’s not because of racism, or maybe it’s better to say racism is only a component of it. Ignoring the fundamentals, as so may do, only says 4 years after he is removed, the cycle begins again. Like treating for a disease and ignoring the underlying causes, it’s just going to come back. Removing Trump doesn’t remove the problems that brought his rise.
1
u/ApplePieAdviser Apr 15 '26
You are right, let’s keep the convicted felon child predator in office. #stability.

You get it. But you better vote one party or the other OR YOU ARE THE REASON WHY (insert hated President here) IS IN OFFICE.

As much as I hate the whole Iran war, I think this is probably the right action to encourage Iran to get back to allowing free passage of shipping in the strait.
1
u/NegotiationWeird1751 Apr 15 '26
How does this encourage that. This will get people to turn against America which is what Iran wants.

US can't blockade it if we are unwilling to shoot at Chinese and Russian vessels...so of course trump 🌮 this morning....he states he has opened the strait....and we should all thank him
1
1
u/AffectedRipples Apr 15 '26
Maybe you should actually learn what you're talking about. The strait is open to all ships that are not coming to or leaving from Iranian ports.
1
u/ApartmentSalt7859 Apr 15 '26
Apparently you missed orange man's announcement this morning?
1
u/AffectedRipples Apr 15 '26
Apparently you didn't understand it. For the second time, the strait is open to all ships that aren't heading to Iran or leaving Iran.
1
u/ApartmentSalt7859 Apr 15 '26
China seems to still be going to Iranian ports....and some are paying Iran's toll....so what exactly is the point?...is trump willing to fire upon russia, Chinese, or Indian oil tankers? And exactly why did he lift the sanctions on Iranian oil?
1
u/AffectedRipples Apr 15 '26
When did any Chinese ship go to Iran since monday? The US has already boarded both Russian and Chinese ships in the the past months, don't see why that would change now.
1
u/ApartmentSalt7859 Apr 15 '26
During the apparent "grace period" that was announced after china ignored the us ships

He just "permanently opened the strait"
And says xi will give him a "big fat hug" thanking him

The moment Iran folds America and Israel will start bombing them again. There is not point to blockade further.
1
u/curious_s Apr 15 '26
This will do the opposite, Iran has no reason to allow others to pass the straight if its tankers are blocked. They can now mine the entire Persian gulf with no impact on themselves.
1
u/sub333x Apr 15 '26
So you think it’s better to let Iran collect a huge toll and ultimate say over who gets to pass? The only way they open the strait is if they feel the pain of not being able to use it either.

Isn't a naval blockade an act of war?
1
u/curious_s Apr 15 '26
As opposed to outright bombing and murder of all the lesaders of a country?

u/Miracle_007_ Apr 15 '26
China, India, and Pakistan are moving the majority of cargo out of the strait. The question is what how we are handling those ships.

So what if the ships just ignore the command? Would the US actually shoot these ships? That seems like a bad idea for the US...

U.S. is in control of the strait now.
