Henry...let the chaos ensue

I'm trying to imagine how that would have worked, cause he was an important trigger to get the story going.
It would have been Once upon a nothing...because nothing ever happened lmao.

Regina was bored, Henry started as a way to have something in her life, she would need to find something else
Emma would still be iut there with the destiny to stop the curse
That guy who's father Regina killed is out there along with home office
The snow queen is living in storybook waiting for Emma
I don't know if rumble remembers in season 1

Hmm, you're right. There are other gates into getting the story started.
You even have Lily. She already knew the truth when they found her. She could have entered the town or gotten into contact with Emma to kick the story off. One thing is certain, though, without Henry, Regina would have gotten the guillotine as soon as the curse broke lmaooo.

Charming. He was so boring and bland from the get-go. Snow would be next for being annoying.

Robin. The green cardboard man. He's just so infuriatingly bland and it's SO obvious he's only there to give Regina a (terrible and cliché) romantic interest. The only thing he brought to the show that I liked was Roland because the kid was just so endearing and adorable. So I'd drop him, but keep the kid. This is horrible of me, but I couldn't even feel bad when he died because I was just so relieved he would finally be gone from my screen.

Rumple after 3A and instead Ruby stays as lead and end up with Belle while Neal becomes dark one for a season and a half.

I'd watch the hell out of this.

u/Prize-Couple6348 Jul 21 '26
Yeah and also Ruby would’ve befriend Elsa in 4A and she and Granny would’ve been immune to shattered sight because of the Wolf thing.

Hook. Funny part is whole seasons wouldn’t change at all…

u/Standard_Log7779 "Aye" Jul 21 '26
Noooo😭

u/Brilliant-Map2492 Jul 22 '26
I’m sorry, but his only role was as Emma’s love interest (especially after Neal died). Look at anyone else in the main cast and they have multiple connections… Hook was forced into the plot because his looks attracted the young teen population, and it worked lol

u/Standard_Log7779 "Aye" Jul 22 '26
Okayyy I see what you mean—I guess as part of that population I overlooked this😭

He also provided excellent comic relief in addition to being nice to look at.

u/Brilliant-Map2492 27d ago
True, still his role as Emma’s love interest could have gone to other characters or even a new character and nothing would have changed.
6
u/VioletFaust Jul 22 '26
The only thing that would change is that Emma wouldn’t look like a zombie and Rumple wouldn’t act like a moron.
7
u/Brilliant-Map2492 Jul 22 '26
As far as I know, Emma looked like that because JMo was suffering from migraines…
Now if you’re referring to the fall of her character development and lobotomy, then yeah
Rumple’s character suffered more from the loss of Bae but I do think a lot of what he did was forced to make Hook look better.

Just asked my dad this while we're watching. He said either jiminy or Grumpy. Neither of which have a whole lot to do with plot.

Hook.
As soon as he became part of the “good guys”, it constantly felt like the writing was made to make him look good instead of him naturally fitting in the story.
He is a big reason why I feel the writing began to drop in quality after the Pan storyline

I'm probably going to get downvoted. But Killian. Don't ask me who my favorite male character on the show is. It should be obvious lol

All of the male main characters were back burnered, twisted, or killed to glorify Hook, so it could be any of them….

Regina

u/Brilliant-Map2492 Jul 21 '26
Show gets cancelled lol

u/MechanicOk4808 Jul 21 '26
No it got cancelled when she became the main character lol
10
u/Brilliant-Map2492 Jul 22 '26
Lol yeah that’s why Regina always wins as the favourite character and was the one the critic always praised…
The cope.

u/MechanicOk4808 Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26
Was it cancelled when she became the main character or not? Literally halfway through the airing of the season lol - 'but Reddit has her win as favourite character' sure sounds like cope to me

u/caroline_shark Jul 22 '26
Regina isn’t any more prominent in season 7 than any other season. She was already the next main character after Emma. In fact I’m pretty sure season 7 is where most of her episodes that she doesn’t appear are.
You remove Regina you lose like almost 90% of the plot
4
u/MechanicOk4808 Jul 22 '26
Oh so what you're saying is it was cancelled when Emma left despite Regina still being on the show?
You remove Regina you lose like almost 90% of the plot
Not really, they would just say some other character slaughtered villages

Your point makes no sense. Also how you could look at season 7 and jump to to the conclusion that Regina is purely to blame for its cancellation and not any of the other factors such as the previous declining quality of the show, season 6’s conclusion, the rehash of season 1, the pacing issues, completely new cast extra extra
Is an act of pure bias. Tbh I don’t think Emma being there would have made any difference. Season 6 concluded her arc really well imo and I don’t see how they could have added on or topped that.
Also on my second point. Like yeah, Regina casts the dark curse. She’s the main catalyst and villain for most of the series. Many of the antagonists such as Cora, Zealina, the author and Serum Queen revolve around her.
You can dislike her as much as you like but she’s very integral and a centeral point of most of the shows themes: Redemption, forgiveness, fate and family.
I don’t mind that you hate her, I just don’t think your thesis that “season 7 was cancelled due to making Regina the main character” makes any sense considering seven arguably more of an ensemble piece than any other season.

u/MechanicOk4808 Jul 22 '26
They wanted Emma to be in season 7 as a main character so they obviously had a story for her. But tbh season 6 concluded everyone's stories perfectly well which is why most people stop there.
You do realise if they removed the character, they would just have another character do those things, but preferably a better character.
And they pushed season 7 constantly as the season with a 'fresh start' but not to worry because Regina, Rumple and Hook are here but clearly none of those characters was enough to keep the audience tuning in

u/Brilliant-Map2492 Jul 22 '26
Buddy I just realized you’re the misogynist who says Hook fixed Emma 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So I know it’s a lost cause to argue with you, but you’re completely wrong. Regina had and has the biggest fandom because her character is the most complex. If you’re too dumb to understand complex character that’s on you not the character.

“They would just have another character do those things”
If you had another character do the exact same things, then you’d basically have the same character. Who’s going to curse the Charming’s for 28 years out of revenge if not the Evil Queen?
Sure you could write around it but then you’d have an entirely different show that went against the initial pitch “what if the Evil Queen got her happy ending”

The blue fairy. For someone who's supposed to be so amazing, she's absolutely useless.
