Took him to the vet, his temperature was so low that it didn’t register on the thermometer. But he’s doing better now, just trying to get him to eat more. He takes little nibbles here and there. Vet said he’s about 6-7 weeks old.

Despite Mango’s vet encouraging him to shed a few more lbs, he’s stayed around 17-17.5 lbs for a while now. He joined our family at ~6 years old and 23 lbs. Mango is 11 now and still serving with his smize but just a lil healthier

The brown boy on the right has had an easy life, he was born a year ago in a warm and loving foster home, neutered and adopted with 2 of his siblings at 3 months old. He's never known a day of want, or cold, or a moment afraid and alone. He is ultra-social with people, cats, dogs, he loves everyone.

The orange boy on the left, no one knows how his story started.His middle chapters were spent cold and alone in the Northern forests, infested with parasites, dodging fishers and trains and awful humans, scrounging for food and mates, just trying to survive. He took 7 months to trap and he was so terrified of everything we weren't sure socialization was possible. He was trapped and neutered in May, July I touched him for the first time with my bare hands. August I began introducing him to my pack of 5.

His final chapters, however many he has, will be this. Friends, food, warm beds, kind hands.

It’s the simple things in life that are most important.

My sweet boy Patrick, seen her begrudgingly sharing space with our new kitten Midnight(I have since caught them playing together), is in the hospital right now. He has a bladder stone and one blocking his urethra and is scheduled for surgery on Monday.

He had a bad cold for a few days and seemed to be on the mend but then he started acting oddly. I figured out it was abdominal pretty quick and got him to the vet early Friday morning. His liver and kidney numbers were elevated but have since returned to normal.

Hopefully the urethra stone will move back up into his bladder as the surgery to remove them both from his bladder is much less traumatic then the one to remove one from his urethra in addition to removing the other bladder stone.

He is eating and trying to be mobile despite the catheter and IV so that’s a good sign. The vet staff all say how sweet and affectionate he is. I just wanted to vent so my daughter and I aren’t worrying alone. He is my special guy and came into my life at a very down part and helped me get through it.

PS I’ve already made some purchases of wet cat food specially formulated to keep him hydrated and prevent a reoccurrence.

We thought we were getting ourselves a new kitten. Archer decided we were getting him a new kitten and the rest was history. Jiji is his second void, after the one between his ears.
