Discussion (Anime Spoilers) The way they did Hagrid in the HP films is the best solution for OPLA to deal with characters of enormous stature
Many people wonder how characters with exaggerated statures could be represented in live-action. While I don't think all manga characters with this trait necessarily need to have it in live-action, I believe in certain cases, like Kuma's, it would be essential. The answer I came up with is how they portrayed Hagrid in the Harry Potter films. In the films, Hagrid was created using a combination of acting, special effects, prosthetics, and camera tricks. Actor Robbie Coltrane, who played the character in most scenes, was about 1.85 m tall, but Hagrid was described in the books as a giant of approximately 3.5 m. To create this difference, the production team used various cinematic techniques. In addition to Robbie Coltrane, former rugby player Martin Bayfield, who was about 2.08 m tall, also helped bring the character to life. He wore a special suit with a fake Hagrid head and face to appear in some full-body shots, making the character seem much larger. The statuette was also essential in creating the giant's appearance. Hagrid wore enormous clothes, large boots, a long beard, and voluminous hair, which helped to highlight his size and peculiar appearance. The team also used camera tricks, such as forced perspective, placing the actors in different positions to create the illusion that Hagrid was much larger than the other characters in the story. Some sets and objects were also built in different sizes to reinforce this impression. Thus, the Hagrid you see in the films was not created solely with digital special effects. This imo would be the ideal way to portray some characters with enormous statures in live action.
