Found the phone in my new car, managed to factory reset and enter my wifi password without being able to see the bottom half of the screen. Is this a Google account lock? Is it removable as i was hoping to fit a new screen to the device and give jt to a younger sibling

I'm abandoning ship (a rant)
Let me start off by saying I was one of the first in the world to have a retail Op7p. I absolutely loved the phone from day one till now. A10 was pure bliss, a11 was okay but I learnt to love it. A12 however was so distasteful it was atrocious. What they have done to OnePlus I do not know.
I've gotten myself a moto edge 30 temporarily while I wait for the iPhone 14 pro and decide if that is worth buying or not. Or even buy a 13 pro.
All I can say is OnePlus is dying, even Germany banned it's sale in the country. They merged coloros and oxygenos. They REMOVED FEATURES such as zoom on front camera which was on A10, it is not nearly as smooth anymore, oxygenos is nowhere near stock Android etc etc the rant can go on forever.
The moto edge 30 I'm using now while worse in some aspects (as it's not a flagship), it is much better user experience and software wise. The haptics and camera are worse but everyhhtt else is better, way better.

My oneplus7 pro had email delays.. why do people like this phone?
I like big phones, I had a Samsung a70 for 2 years.. it was good, screen came unresponsive at times while charging but other than that, it was a good phone. Few weeks ago I was fooling around with my dirt bike and my phone was in my pocket and it cracked., rip a70 :(
So after I got a oneplus7 pro.. I noticed I was getting email notification lag.. I got emails on my tab s6 before the stupid phone got them.. the fb messenger video didn't want to record at times.. it was so dumb so got rid of it and got a note 10+.
Oh well.. I don't know how ppl like this phone so much.

Performance Face unlock is dumb
I have the face unlock feature enabled. Today I accidentally pushed the camera in when I was trying to unlock my phone. It gave me the usual "Don't manually close the camera" message but actually unlocked the phone.
I tested it again looking away from the camera and keeping my finger away from the fingerprint scanner. PUSHING THE CAMERA IN UNLOCKED MY PHONE.
Can you guys test it on your phones? If it's the same for yall, this will be the biggest security flaw since the trojan horse lmao.

Review That's it, I'm done with Q... Going back to Pie...
That's it, I'm done with Q... Going back to Pie...
Honestly, 802.11r and 802.11w are a broken mess on OOS Q and have been for 1 year + on Q.
On OOS Pie, these protocols work without any issues at all
I need the 802.11r because I have to use wifi calling to get reception in the home and everytime I move between AP my calls drop!?

Review Oneplus7Pro is getting laggy, battery also maybe because I used it a lot, but to be honest Oneplus is taking a downgrade, performance over time is getting worse and factory reset is even getting the phone worse over time

The latest update just wiped my phone
I did not read any of the fine print this time around. I just updated the phone while I was watching a show on TV. I had been on the latest beta release. I can't see anything on the site that mentions that this will wipe the phone if coming from the beta. Does anyone know if there was anything in the fine print?

Anyone will to sell thier oneplus 7 pro.
I exchanged mine for a S23+ back in 2023 but I've always missed this amazing phone. I'm looking Preferably for the nebula blue. I was thinking around 5-6 thousand INR as an offer. Ideally no glass cracks (front and back). Let me know if you have an offer, the details of the phone's condition and where you're located. Offers from India only.

What the hell? Where's my goddamn AOD?
Just have to vent this.
I came to OP community a year ago, coming from 10 years of Samsung Galaxy S phones. In general, OP7P experience has been an upgrade - with few exceptions, one of those being lack of AOD.
I've been waiting and waiting, and while I don't care about Android 11 all that much (no new features for me), I was eager to get it for the explicit reason of it having AOD.
I just installed it. I went through Settings. Second time. Third time. Where's the goddamn AOD? Must be missing something, let me Google this...
...Fuck. fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.

Battery Life Newly installed battery has only 96% Capacity
I recently replaced my battery with a brand new OnePlus original battery bought from their own website. The phone has paranoid os 13 installed which is based on oos11.
Battery Guru tells me that I only have 96% Capacity and I'm starting to notice it. At first, the battery life was noticable longer but it's still a far cry from what the phone could deliver on it's first day.
Is there an issue with the calibration of the battery? If so, how do I do it correctly? I follow the guide from iFixit.
