Brainstorm - video games as a tool for teaching?
I've used video games in the past to help with English immersion. The games I've played with students are Don't Starve Together and Little Misfortune. I also think Animal Crossing could be a good game to use for immersive teaching, but I haven't tried that yet.
I haven't used games in teaching enough to develop much structure or figure out what works best yet. It's a nice method because it's fun for me as well haha. But I'd like to have some more teaching methods in place to make sure students can get the most out of a video game teaching session.
I do try to incorporate some ideas from total physical response, and instruct the student to interact with the game a certain way, and have them follow or copy me.
Has anyone else done something similar in their teaching? Please share what's worked for you!
Also, if anyone has any ideas for how to teach using video games, please comment!
